  1. Check out zappos.com! You can search by all kinds of features and they offer free shipping and free returns!
  2. We're casual too - in fact I'm wearing a multi-colored floral sundress (FI will be in khaki shorts and ivory short sleeve shirt). The moms and my sister (BM) are planning to wear summer dresses in a solid color that pick up something from my dress. We're probably all going shopping in March when more summer clothes hit the stores.

  7. Hi Meghan! Welcome to the forum. We've been together 10 years too, although it will be 11 by the time of the wedding! We're getting married in Key West, June 26. We went in November on a scouting mission and the weather was gorgeous. TA Maureen has a point though since October is hurricane season. Have you been to either place before?

  11. I think it will look great - especially with white linens. And I agree with the other posters that you'll never match colors "exactly" and having various shades of pink will look fantastic!!!
  12. I second zappos - you can browse by specifics. This should take you to blue wedge sandals: shoes , Shoes, Womens - Search Zappos.com

  14. Thanks so much, everyone, for your encouragement. Just got my first phone call from a guest who got it today and almost had me in tears with her delight! Cost-wise, the breakdown is: Pocketfold: $2.14 per Outer Envelope: $0.32 per RSVP Envelope: $0.15 per Lime Cardstock: $0.30 per sheet - 2 sheets per invite White Cardstock: $0.06 per sheet - 2 sheets per invite Which comes to $3.33 per invite (spooky, 3 is my favorite number) TECHNICALLY. I did use a lot more white cardstock because I over-printed BIG TIME in case of assembly issues. And I didn't include any shipping for things because I had ordered extra stuff for doing thank you cards as well. And, finally, I did also order and use (and highly recommend) a "Jigster" from envelopments.com for $70.00. But it was worth every penny in keeping my sanity intact. It's a guide to help line up the paper when your gluing together different sizes.
  15. When we were there in late November, it was warm enough to be outside in skirt and flip flops, but I did need a sweater (then again, I'm always cold).
  16. A big thank you so much to all the women here who posted pictures of and wording ideas for invitations and inserts. I learned so much from all of you! After many, many hours in front of the computer designing and printing and many more hours at the dining room table assembling, the invites are finished and going in the mail tomorrow!! Metallic Peacock Pocketfolds: Envelopme.com Ultra Lime Cardstock & Envelopes: Jam Paper White Cardstock: Staples (after my original white was too thick!)
  17. Hi Rachel! Welcome to the forum! You'll be able to find a lot of great ideas and advice here. Have fun with all your plans!
  18. Ha ha. Reading all the posts makes me feel alternately calm because I'm at the same stage as others, but then nervous for being behind. I'm glad to be finished with the invitations, but we've already been talking to a lot of our guests since we plan on booking their airline and hotel ourselves. We're pretty non-traditional and not too worried about a lot of the details. Luckily, I do have my dress, but only because it's something I already had in my closet. I've known for a long time that I didn't want to wear a traditional wedding gown. I just need to have it taken in slightly. FI will be wearing khaki shorts and ivory button down, short sleeve shirt, but we have to wait until warm weather clothes show up in the stores here in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. Same for girls' shopping trip with my sister (BM), my mom and FMIL. I've been working on collecting ideas for our ceremony script (FI's longtime friend will be officiating) and for OOT bags. I think the next thing will be to start thinking about rings. I'm so impressed with some of your DIY lists. I just barely managed to do the invitations without losing my sanity ;-)
  19. Hi! We're June 26 in Key West, FL! Today, I've been working on assembling our invitations. Hope to finish them up tomorrow and get them in the mail Tuesday!!

  23. jcarvale - We are staying at the Pier House and we loved it when we stayed this past November. Every time we went by the beach, there was no one on the topless beach, and it is separated from the resort's other beach by a hedge. We decided on the Pier House because we'll have about 50 people coming with us and figured it would be easier to keep everything in one spot. I've also stayed at the Paradise Inn, which is heavenly. Small, boutique inn/cottages, but very upscale and lovely. And for a more cost-effective place to stay, the Westwinds Inn is very sweet. I stayed there a few years ago. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Both of those are also an easy walk to Duval.
