I've been home in Calgary for an extended long weekend. We had our AH Engagement party on Thursday night, most of our friends and family made it which was great. Unfortunately my FI's parents didn't. Dispointing but not surprising. I got a lot accomplished with my mum. We found a tiara! I think I might start wearing it every day and I would be awesome! LOL I have my something borrowed. My mum is trusting me with her pearls and earrings. They are fab! I was going to try to make my own with fresh water pearls from a bead store but this is just that much more special now. We also hit a Michael's looking for idea's for centre pieces. Still not sure what I want to do here. Then I was crazy enough to get a few of my tattoo's touched up - OUCH!!! I can pretty much sum this weekend up to Tiara's & Tattoo's! Now that's a classy bride! LOL

I took two of my BM's last night to try a dress on from Forever 21. It had a similar look to the Carrie Bradshaw tutu skirt - but it was a dress and looked really cute on line. Thank god we didn't purchase it online. One of them refused to come out of the fitting room! She looked like a cream puff in a short skirt... we just about died laughing. One of them remembered seeing a really cute hot pink dress at RW&Co. We ventured there, I loved it but I didn't want to get my hopes up. They tried them on and they both really liked them. We texted pictures to my other two BM's in Alberta and they also loved them. Woo hoo! One more thing done! And I got my hot pink!!!

I saw 2 weddings there and seriously I almost cried for those brides. Besides the fact of the hundreds of people standing only 10ft from their ceremony (some of them topless), there were tons of boats in the background and a million blue beach chairs surrounding the entire ceremony site. Horrific. Their decorations consisted of putting some white fabric on the palm trees - thats it. Even me, being the simplest bride around, would have been traumatized. It was clear that the hotel did not specialize in weddings. Welcome back Nicole! You picked an awesome week for a honeymoon - it was freezing in Toronto!
