    Hi :)

Hi Amy, congrats and welcome to the forum! I think it's great that you're planning a DW without having been there before - I think it says a lot about you! You'll have a great time in Mexico.
  4. Hi Shanna, congrats on the engagement! A DW can be a lot of fun, but the planning can be a lot of work! The forum is full of resources, so it really helps!

    Hi All!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats! We were looking at Costa Rica as well, but decided to stay closer to home. Most hotels we were looking at were also very far from airports, so it was going to be very complicated... I understand your concern for the rain though, but all that green would be gorgeous!

    Hi :)

Congrats Suzanne, welcome to the site!
  12. Hi Mel, great pictures! Love the review. You looked stunning! I remember noticing your dress on PF's website - can I ask who designed it?
  13. Great video!!! Thank you for sharing it. I don't know why I didn't think of looking through YouTube for videos - I think I'll be spending quite some time on there for ideas!

I would contact PF and ask them if they are with you having the wedding elsewhere. It should be OK, I think from their photo gallery it has been done before. As for the room cost, I find that it is a bit on the high side but the rest is quite reasonable. If you contact them, they will send you their worksheet and this will give you an idea of cost for meals and activities.
  15. Congrats on your big day! The photos are fantastic and you looked amazing! Loved the hair and those BM dresses!
  16. Melissa, I think that it looks great! I bet no one here will ever look like those ladies in the photos - redone, touched up in Photoshop and ridiculously skinny. You can't compare yourself to that! It fits you really well. As for the dress itself, it's a pretty good rendition of the original - the main difference seems to be the fabric. Yours seems to have no beading. How does the quality feel?
  17. Oh man, this stuff is awesome! I was at a wonderful wedding this summer, flew in to Hawaii for it. The wedding was just before sunset, the ceremony was short, everything was super intimate, open bar, great food, flowing champagne. Everything was perfect, but there were three things that made me take note to not do at my wedding. 1) The wedding was close to the pool - pictures of people in bathing suits in the background just isn't cool. 2) The ceremony and reception was outside on the hotel's lawn and it got so dark, you couldn't even see what you were eating, or anyone else around for that matter. 3) By 8 pm, the bride and groom left for their honeymoon suite - and there was nothing organized for the rest of us! No dancing, no party, nothing.
  18. That's a good question! I did a quick search and while the wording is more for the actual invite, it might help you formulate the STD. There's useful links and examples at the bottom of the page here. Also try here. Hope this helps!
  19. OMG these look fantastic! I'll have to keep this in mind, thank you for the link! Let us know how they are once you receive them!
  20. That's terrible news! Did they say why they will not go to Mexico? Is it just Mexico, or a destination wedding in general?
  21. Have you checked out Style Me Pretty? There's also Trendsetting Weddings and Snippet & Ink. They have quite a few inspiration boards - they may not be very "destination-y", but at least it can give you an idea of colours! Website like The Knot and Bride.com also have tons about colours. I don't know of any software though or website that will help you create your own board. You could always add a bunch of photos into Word or Photoshop! Hope this helps get you started! I also have no idea what colours to go with... I like way too many things!
  22. That's a tough one! Have you spoken with her about your feelings with regards to her lack of support? I am certain that if she understood how much it was hurting you, that she would learn to keep her negative opinions to herself. She's your sister, she loves you, and her job is to stand by you through good and bad - and she most likely want to do just that. If you sit her down, tell her how you feel and ask if she thinks that she could do this for you, then at least you gave her the chance and will save yourself the possibility of regrets. Good luck!
  23. This is great! Fantastic links and this is really making it seem more like something that would turn out great rather than horrible. Has anyone ordered from oliviabridal.com or heard anything about them? They seems to do some of the more upscale dresses. Thanks!
