  1. Congrats on the wedding!!! Sounds like everything went smoothly and as planned. An easy way to post pictures is to use the BDWF Photobucket account. There is a thread with specific info on that. Once the photo is uploaded you can paste the IMG link into your post and voila!
  2. Hi everyone! Not sure if someone else posted this already or not, but I couldn't find anything. Just received a promo from David's Bridal for a free 20 page 8x8 photobook from Shutterfly, and I thought I'd share! Here are the details: To receive your 20–page photo book: 1. Visit Christmas Cards, Holiday Cards, Photo Cards, Photo Books, and Photo Share Sites | Shutterfly 2. Enter the unique promo code 3. Add your pictures to Shutterfly and start creating The promo code is DR05-CXVN-MGC9-RP6FF3. I won't be using it, but I'm sure that someone out there might want to! The offer ends December 31, 2009.
  3. Whoa, that's a sexy dress! It looks stunning on you. Glad you finally found the one!
  4. I think that your plan makes perfect sense. If for example you get married on a Saturday and your guests wanted to save money, they would arrive on Friday and leave Sunday - that doesn't leave much room to relax or do anything. By doing it on Friday, you give everyone extra time together and to relax. We're getting married on a Sunday - everyone is arriving on Friday, Saturday is the rehearsal dinner, marriage on Sunday and Monday to relax, everyone leaves on Tuesday.
  5. This is stunning, I absolutely love it! It will look incredible on you. Congrats!
  6. There are those stick-on cups that you could try too, might be less painful than tape!
  7. As it was mentioned, you might be able to switch seats with other travelers on the day of. As well, often if you talk to the people at the counter (when checking in and at the gate) they can often help you and arrange to switch a few seats. At worse, would it be possible to talk to the airline directly? I'm not sure if they'd be able to fix anything, but it could be worth the try. And then this person probably has a manager, if it gets too horrible, you could always speak to someone higher up than her. Best of luck!
  8. I like Meagan's suggestion! You could have both and your friend would still feel special!
  9. Hang in there, it will be fine! You'll have an amazing time during the TTD and just think of all of the amazing emotions that both of you will be displaying in front of the camera - all that love, happiness and hope - the photos will be incredible! And as for the rest, time goes by quickly. It might be hard, but it's not going to be like that for ever!
  10. I also had the same question about the dance floor - I think that this is the sort of decision that would be much easier to make doing a site visit! Would the area where you get married make for a good dance area, or is it too far from the bar & music? Otherwise is there enough dance room around the pool? It's odd but looking at photos of the dance floor is looks sort of small - how many people would you say could fit on it to dance? Sam, i love your photos! Blaire sent them over to me two days ago so I guess that I got to see them early! It just looks perfect, and you two looked fantastic! I really like that Michelle included shots of the food, it gives me a good idea of what it looks like! Were those mini cheesecakes?
  11. Wow, incredible slideshow! You were just glowing! I love your dress, it was so classy and elegant - it fit you like a glove! And those photos of your hubby when he first saw you - priceless! Thank you for sharing and congrats on the big day!
  12. We wanted a summer wedding, and found that it would also be convenient because the prices are cheaper then down south (although it turned out that it was the high season for our resort). We looked at May or early June because we wanted to avoid the hurricane season. We then narrowed it down by looking at the dates we didn't want (for example, FI's birthday) and date where family was not available. After that, we picked our weekend. Unfortunately it was not available at our resort, so we just took what was available (the weekend prior to the one we wanted). It's too bad though because otherwise it would have made it a long weekend for those traveling from Canada and been on the same weekend as FI's parents and sister's wedding anniversaries.
  13. Hi Ivy, welcome to the form and congrats on the engagement! You'll find tons of resources on here to help you find the perfect location!
  14. I think that you should ask your FI if he meant that he doesn't like V necks in general of if what he really was trying to get at was no low cut V neck. There's a big difference, and I have a feeling that's where it might be coming from. I agree with everyone though, asking FI for an opinion can be a real bad idea!

This way, if a couple of people are clashing in your fave shot because they didn't wear your colours, people may notice a lot less in b&w! And indeed, Neen, well said!
  16. That is weird that a post about you finding your dress would be closed. Did you post your introduction prior to the other posts? Otherwise that may be why. I second Damaris, let us see your dress! We do care.
  17. From what I understand it is pretty straight forward to have your legal Mexican wedding recognized in the US, but I can't say for sure since I am Canadian. We decided to get married legally at home first to avoid having to do the blood test, x-rays, fingerprints, running around etc needed for a legal wedding down there. As well, not to say that I am a pessimist or anything but I also found out that to get legally divorced once having had a Mexican wedding, you would need to move (both of you) to Mexico for 6 months prior to putting-in the paperwork - needless to say that's just complicated! Just something to think about...
  18. Sounds like everything was awesome and went as planned! Congrats on getting married (again!) and can't wait to see Sol's slideshow!
  19. Very nice, that's great that you found the one! I love the long ribbon detail in the back. It will look fantastic with the jewelry!
  20. He will look great, and it will make him happy, so why not? And with a linen suit, it won't look as formal as with a regular suit. It will look great!
