Shreeti, I like your name! Very unique We put down $5K. For a credit card deposit though they charge 5.5% on top of that, so a wire transfer should work out to be cheaper. If you're worried about things that might happen in the meantime, you should look into wedding insurance. It's usually quite affordable and in the US they have companies that cover destination weddings (here in Canada we're SOL). This way, no need to worry! We're doing cabs to the resort, since everyone will be arriving at different times. I think the cost is around $25 US from the airport to the hotel.
