  1. Hi! The civil ceremony pictures are in, see http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...blogged-56604/. Can't believe that tomorrow I will have only 2 months to go - yikes!

These are about 15 minutes walk from Stanley Park. You can find a map of exactly where they are here: Vancouver Biennale | Locations There are also lots of other cool sculptures on there! The word sculpture is very cool, it's made of aluminum. The arc is steel I think.
  3. If you go on the government's website they will give you all of the details, like cost, how many witnesses you need, etc. This should get you started in the right direction!
  4. Hi! Blush was by far the best service, but all of the dresses are *very* expensive. So if you're not looking for the likes of Vera Wang, you can skip it! Something Blue - I didn't go because the lady on the phone wasn't the nicest. But they look like they have stunning dresses. Bisou Bridal - very nice, lots of options at different price points. Isabelle Bridal - I had bad service there. Bridal Gallery - it was mayhem in there! It can be overwhelming but they have a LOT of choice. Byan's Bride - Horrible service. They left me waiting there for 20 minutes and nobody helped me or talked to me even though I had an appointment! One place not mentioned here is Bello - I had great service and this is where I found my dress! (Pronovias)
  5. Why is it that we can feel that we have all the time in the world to get things done and suddenly you realize that you've fallen way behind? Or is that just me? I realized with 70 days let to go to our wedding and no invites sent - and barely anyone booked - that something needed to get done FAST! We decided to create a PDF invite and to send it our via email. We are also using Online Invitations, party planning and event management from pingg to track the RSVP. This saves us $$$ and as well saves us in having to wait for the postal system to get the invite there and RSVP back. The downside is that it doesn't give the same feeling, and that we don't have something printed to hold onto. And I created a PDF that is too large to email out! LOL. We had to use a file hosting site. Regardless, I'm super happy with our invitations - I think that my DIY turned out great! Feel free to check out the file here - sorry, it's kinda big! 6. Thank you for the link! Bookmarking this for when we get to the playlist!
  7. Hi everyone, thank you so much for helping us with this! We did the ceremony a few weeks ago and it was so nice. Your kind words and input is so appreciated. And now I can't wait for the Mexican wedding!!! Photos can be found here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...blogged-56604/
  8. To make our wedding in Mexico a bit easier and avoid the blood tests and paperwork, we decided to do a civil ceremony at home before our big day. Obsessed as I am with pictures, we got our photographer for our wedding to shoot our civil ceremony - a good way to remember the day and to get to know her better! Our 2nd shooter is also a BDWF member! We had tons of fun, and decided to still do something nice since we while we were at it (but still very cheap - we got married in our living room). Anyhow, the photos are up and I love them! I am so excited about getting married in Mexico in front of friends and family, and I now know that those pictures will rock! Here is the link to the photog's blog post: Magalie + Travis | Civil Ceremony | Amber Hughes Photography AND we were blogged on Rock'n'Roll Bride - how amazing is that! Here is the link for that. Rock 'n Roll Bride Doing it Their Own Way I'm hoping that things go as well for the Mexican wedding! And thank you to the BDWF members who helped me along with this!
  9. That's a really good question! I'm worried about it breaking in transport to the resort!
  10. Crystal, did you end up getting the dance floor? From your video it looks like maybe you didn't. Where you happy with your decision?
  11. Welcome back Crystal, congrats!!! I'm glad that you had such a great time! I've only watched the video thus far (I'll check out the photos after this) but wow, how fun! I can't believe that you did all of that in your dress. And you looked gorgeous. Gorgeous!
  12. Kate, did you happen to take any pictures of the resort? I imagine that you did!
  13. I found that Beth was really hard to get hold of - if you want someone who gets back to you right away, she's not the one for you. I loved her work but I was really worried about her inability to respond to emails and in the end she booked someone else for the weekend I was looking at. Probably a good thing in the end! But I do love her work. Michelle is the opposite, and you'll get your photos fast. You won't need to worry that she'll have run away with your photos with Michelle! PF is close to the Dreams, not even 2 km away. It's on a direct line into town, so even though it is a little bit more quiet it's real easy to get into the action. Don't worry! The 50 cent bus ride is like 10 minutes to all of the bars, restaurants, boutiques... if I remember correctly.
  14. Glad to know that you had a great time! I can't wait to be there!
  15. Welcome and congrats Vanessa! I'm glad that I can help! Sorry if I've been MIA, the legal ceremony is in two days and I've been running around like crazy!!!
  16. I picked a place based on it having everything that I wanted and now I regret it. I should have gone with price. I realize now that I would have been happy at either place, so going with the lower cost one would have saved me added stress and heartache. Are those prices that you are listing include the flight? That would make a big difference in term of accessibility for all.
