Oh boy...work was busy the other day and then trying to get Christmas stuff done I have been away a couple.....I hate missing days like that! I feel like I miss out on so much.... Brooke...I am so happy you finally heard from your WC. Hopefully now you will get to have more regular contact with her (him?) and not have to stress and worry about that part of things at all! I think getting your phone planned changed is a really good idea...I wish I could do that. I think we are going to use your white board idea, but guy...don't laugh...I am so paranoid! If we put the white board up, then people will know we are not in our room! (yes I know that sounds crazy because how often when you are at the resort are you actually in your room anyway?) Your crazy straw idea for the oot bags sounds like a hoot. Can't you just see your drunk friends and family all running around with these straws wrapped around their heads - it would be hilarious and lots of fun. You and Timberly are so lucky! You actually met on here and get to hang out and go shopping - in NYC! Have fun for the rest of us....I am so living vicariously through you two when it comes to that Timberly...the RVSP thing hasn't really been an issue for us. I thought I had it all pretty well figured out with just a couple of stragglers. Then I just found out in the last few weeks there is a whole group from the FI family side that is planning to come and are looking for another deal. This is fine and it would be wonderful to have them there, but only one of them has actually RSVP'd....nothing from the rest of them AT ALL! No emails, phone calls, nothing telling us they are thinking about coming or planning to and are looking for other deals. So do we order enough stuff for them all and then they don't come? I already have ordered a bunch of stuff and now if they come we won't have enough! Argh!!! -

Shells don't laugh at us dog lovers - we make them healthy treats so stay with us longer! I will find my recipe and post it later for you too....I think it is similar to yours, but I never thought of using baby food! What a great idea! -

The FI bought me nutrasystem for the last weeks up until the wedding as I have been terrible at dieting, am injured so cant work out that hard and it is Christmas time! We are staying home and going to dance lessons on Christmas day (my parents will be up north with my bro and his kids)... no big food. I get 5 small cardboardish meals a day.. worth it if I can wear this super cute dress I got this weekend (its white for the club after the wedding) Also all of the baking is pretty much done here... (I love to bake as well) I am going to make the dog some biscuits so I can bake but without the temptation... and a few sausage rolls for the FI at work this week (schools out so we are off of work for 2 whole weeks) Are you guys doing a planning thread? I cant imagine being well put together enough to get it done, but less than 2 months from now it will all be done and I can hardly believe it. PS the dance video is good motivation for my diet- that camera definitely adds 10 lbs- even our instructor looks heavy. That is a great idea...I have baked for the pups in the past. I have this one recioe that is cheese and wheat germ which they love! I should make some for them and then I won't be remotely tempted to eat them! If I am at least they would be good for me....lol....the perfect diet...home made dog cookies! Ummmm ... not! -

Contratulations Timeberly and Chris! Can't wait for you to post some pictures for all of us to see! Shells.....if the rest of your photos are even half as good as the one you showed us they are going to rock! Let us know how the meeting with the photographer went. Tricia...I hear you with the baking. Ours is almost all gone...oh and the FI does not like coconut, shortbread, or maraschino cherries...so guess what...I have been eating the baking all weekend! I keep thinking....3 months...oh now 2 months! Plus Christmas holidays! MAybe it is a good thing I am working all the holidays this year....I won't eat as much, maybe... Sue...I hope you are feeling better! -
Well I agree with what everyone else is saying - I think as someone having a DW I do not expect large expensive gifts from people...they are travelling a long ways to be with us and for some people that is a hardship. I do not expect either of my BM to give us anything - all that they are doing to help me is a huge gift. If you want to give money, I think $50 is more than enough, but if you want something a little more personal, you could look at giving a present to just the bride as a keepsake (like a pendant).

I think you go by your wedding guest list and then decide who is closest to you from there. If you google the etiquette all the sites say it is a no no to invite people who are not invited to the wedding. The exceptions to that would be if your co-workers were not invited but decided to have a shower for you, etc. At the end of the day though, I think it is up to you - if you want to invite people not invited to the wedding then that is your call. Good luck and I hope you have fun!

So exciting your dress is in.... Doesn't that just hit you Your getting married soon. As for feeling a strong bond with the gals on this thread.... totally..A really true down-to-earth bunch of gals.... It is wondeful that we have all come together and are able to share details of our weddings and our lives. Funny how I have been on this thread for three months and I feel I have gained this huge group of gfriends. I have to drag my butt to work today... My one part time gal will not work on Fridays..it's her casino day... Damn she has issues... thats another story.lol One thing about being sick - you sure get to sleep when you start recovering! Its tough going to work like that. Get better soon! I agree with all of you. Meeting you (on line!) has been wonderful. Everyone is nice and so helpful, +we get to talk about our weddings all we want and no one gets tired of it I know I was a latecomer to this thread - thanks for welcoming me and including me right away! My Feb wedding friends you all rock! ( I would use a smile face toasting with wine, but I can't find one....just the little drunk at the bar!) -

Yeah for the dress! That is so awesome - your turn to post photos! Have fun with the dancing lessons! I want to go, but we are having trouble scheduling with the FI out of town schedule and my shift work. -

Oh boy. First I would agree that if you have already nuked the offending post, let it go and don't worry about it. Go and have fun and be happy - that is all that matters. Second...sorry about grandma. Not to try stuffing anything down her throat, but maybe if she can share with you the specifics of why she cannot go it might (hopefully) be something you guys can work around. I assume your resort has the full medical staff on site 24/7...if she needs blood work or something done regularly, maybe the WC can help you make arrangements so grandma can still go? I am sorry this last few days has been so tough on you....sending you hugs and happy thoughts!

Krista I feel bad for you. I thought I was getting jerked around a month ago about the photographer deal at our resort and then the speakers! At least they did get back to me on those things and my site was booked. Have you checked to see if there is a thread on this site specific to your resort? Maybe you could start one if not....maybe someone else is having better communications and can share some of their info with you. Brooke...no chicken dance? Why on earth not? It is smooth and elegant and ....oh I can't...I just cracked up trying to write this! What people flapping their arms and bobing around isn't fun to see? I am half Ukranian and when I was a kid we went to tons of huge huge weddings. The chicken dance and the butterfly (I think that is what it is called) were our favorites! We were 8 years old, but funny that is not a tradition I want to continue! I do hope you hear back from your new WC soon. Did they fire the old one? Hmmm that must have been a great letter! You go girl! Shells - your picture is awesome! WOW! Your FI is going to love them!
