We went with the free package as well. I agree with the girls who say it is a better deal to just add on what you want. As for the private function....last time I checked, if you did a rooming contract for 10 rooms you got a private function for free. Now that may have changed since the last time I read through the material....seems that the promotions change all the time at these resorts. Right now they are doing deals on airfare to get you to MP. So you would have to check! Good luck!

Hi Tara! We too are getting legally married at home and not telling anyone. We are getting married at the Moon Palace in Cancun....and we still had to be there 3 days prior to our wedding. So we fly in on Tuesday and get married Saturday. We could have flown in Wednesday though! Good luck!

Also, we are staying for 7 nights and are paying around $2600 for ocean view room (I can't remember exact price) and $580 for flights. We picked the free wedding package and are not doing the legal thing...just symbolic (no one will know the difference and it saves us like $400). If you are really picky about the flowers and cake and lots of decorations it can get pricey (but "pricey" is all relative and up for interpretation). Just my thoughts! Congrats!

Hello, Marlyn Tobin was the Sales Executive who handled our contract in Florida. Rosa "Lily" Sanchez was assigned as our on-site wedding coordinator. The only knowledge I have of any of them is Lily who was also CutieRosie's coordinator. You can read her review (with info on Lily and Maria - another coord.) at the link below. You may ask CutieRosie about switching coordinators....if I remember right she was bumped around between a couple of coordinators. I will tell you that Lily has gotten back to my lengthy emails with fairly clear answers pretty well. It takes her a couple of days, but I'm in no hurry at this point. Good luck! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-7-09-a-41146/

The prices were mind blowing back then. I checked out same flights last night to see if they were the same and the price had gone up by $60 per person. So I'm glad we booked....but really it is a risk if you book now or later. Either way you risk losing a better deal either way you chose....such a game. PS - "Swine Flu".....so funny. I work in the Meat industry (Pork, Beef & Lamb)....and H1N1 has nothing to do with Swine other than it was first discovered in them. Silly!

Hello all, I wanted to share two things...First, we booked our flights a couple of weeks ago from Denver on Orbitz. Frontier had direct flights to Cancun. US Airways has 1-stop flights through Phoenix and Continental has 1-stop flights through Houston (obviosuly this is Denver specific). We paid $292 per ticket on Orbitz and of course they do the gaurantee that pays you the difference if someone else books the same flight on Orbitz after you. Also I recently saw on the Moon Palace website that they are giving discounts of up to$400 per room towards your airfare if you book it through their bundled travel deals and stay for 7 nights. Not bad if you like the flights they give you. I personally found that they always wanted to give me a Frontier or US Airways flight....and the times were better on Continental. Even with the stop in Houston, it was just a better timed flight. Second, are any of you doing sand ceremonies? I have searched all over the internet for a sand ceremony set that I like and finally found one that is perfect and doesn't break the bank. I haven't ordered it yet, but will be doing so after Christmas. I wanted to share in case anyone was looking for something similar. Designs By Etch Art @ Amazon.com: Designs by Etch Art

Dollar Tree finds tonight
Janelley100 replied to sfrench0621's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Great find. I just bought a boat load of stuff for the OOT bags at Dollar Tree the other day. I am making 15 OOT bags and bought bandaids, packets of Tylenol, packets of Tums powder and Antibacterial wipes.....spent like 16 total! I tried to get sunscreen and aleo, but they didn't have any. I think it is a seasonal item even for the dollar stores. Hey, if anyone has any ideas on what to include for a couple of families coming with TEENS....I am all ears. We have no little kids coming, just about 5 teenagers between 13 and 16 yrs old. I want to include something for them, but can't think of anything good. Thanks! -

Sweet Potatoe Casserole with Pineapple 6 boiled & mashed sweet potatoes 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 can crushed pineapple 1/4 cup margarine Directions: Boil potatoes with skins on. Peel & mash potatoes. Combine pineapple, margarine, & brown sugar. Cook over medium heat , stirring constantly until mixture boils for 1 minute. Reserve enough of the mixture to cover top of casserole. Combine the remainder of the mixture with the mashed sweet potatoes. Cover & bake at 325 F for 35 minutes. Take out and top with a layer of marshmallows. Return to oven for 5 minutes or just long enough to brown the marshmallows on top. Serve! This is my mom's recipe and a long standing tradition!

Congratulations. We are heading to Moon Palace for our wedding next July. It is all-inclusive and has great beaches. We had friends who got married their a few years ago....and it was fantastic. Just remember, as many have already said....so lots of research. One of the best resources are the women who have posted reviews right on this site. Breakdown all the costs.....weddings are a huge business in Mexico so make sure you look at all the little details. Right now the Azul resorts are matching the wedding cost of most resorts....and a lot of resorts who never did Free wedding packages are offering them to get business down there. Booking direct with hotels can get you lots of perks as well. I am using a travel agent who specializes in DWs.....but she can book directly with the hotel as well. Good luck!

Sounds like you are off to a great start! I am from Colorado and have lived in the midwest and southern states here and there. So my take on Thanksgiving dinner is: Turkey Stuffing Mashed Potatoes & Gravy Green Bean Casserole (Greenbeans, cream of mushroom soup & French Fried onions) Sweet Potatoes or Yams (Cook with brown sugar & pineapple and brown a layer of marshmallows on tops when done) Dinner Rolls Pumpkin Pie Pecan Pie Apple Pie Homemade whip cream! Hope this helps! Good luck!
