  1. Holly, Got mine last night...just before the storm! Thank you again and Happy Holidays everyone! Todd & Chelle
  2. What amazing photos you recieved....and what an amazing day it looks like you had. Such wonderful memories. Congratulations!
  3. I do not have hands on experience...however our closest friends got married at Moon Palace 2 years ago and they used the on site photographer and videographer. Their pictures are pretty, but very posed and cookie cutter. Nothing spectacular to be honest. They wished they would have paid for another photographer to come in for the day. The video is ok, a little short, but includes key moments. (reading of a poem, brides entrance, groom before bride arrived, vows, kiss, after wedding cocktail, cake cutting, on the beach playing...that's it). It has a song or two dubbed over it. Knowing what we know, we are opting to bring our own photographer (who happens to be my soon to be brother in law). We are considering having MP video the wedding just for posterity sake....but we ar enot opting for their photography package. I have heard some good reviews about one specific photographer in their bunch....but I can't think of his name off the top of my head and you have to request and confirm that you will get him if you want him! Good luck and remember my experience is only what I have seen...not dealt with. Take care!
  4. Hello Adriana, Congratulations to you and your FI! We too are getting married at Moon Palace on July 17th. Should be a great time for us all. There are a bunch of threads on 2010 brides, Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 & 2010 brides and July 2010 brides. So much info......you will love this site! Take care!
  5. You must be high up in the mountains.....down in Denver it is dry but FREEZING!!!! Good luck and hoping you have lots of hot cocoa!
  6. Congratulations and welcome. More Moon Palace Brides! Yaaaaahhh!!!

  8. Wow...these are very well put together....and the theme carried through was wonderfully done. Great job!!!!!!!

If people stay off the resort is there a limit on day passes? Can they only come in the day of your wedding or can they come in whatever day you want? SO MUCH $$$!!! Don't quote me on this....but I think that you can only have 20% of your wedding party stay offsite. So if you have 50 guests....only 10 can come from off site. **Ladies please correct me if I'm off on the percentage!** Then those individuals will have to buy a day pass to enter the resort. I believe this is $65 or 75 per day. You will need to verify this amount as well as I don't have my notes handy...just checking in! Good luck. And don't fret too much...the airline rates are liable to go down after the first of the year when the markets slump for a bit. Just keep your eyes on them. Next year is going to be interesting in the stock market which may have a real effect on travel rates domestically and internationally.
  10. We are getting married July 17, 2010. Same month, but not terribly close. Are you looking to share a photographer or something? There are definitely girls planning closer to your dates on here. Good luck!
  11. Cristi, I too am a Moon Palace bride to be...but doing the free package and adding on from there. I am not sure about the Saphire package...but wanted to direct you to a review that Cutierosie did a while back. She spoke about the different packages and posted great photos of her entire wedding. Good luck in your planning! Chelle http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-7-09-a-41146/
  12. Name: Chelle FI Name: Todd Wedding Destination: Moon Palace, Cancun, Mexico What made you choose this destination? We were originally booked for the Excellence Playa Muejeres. However, after several teenagers in both of our families pitched a fit at the "Adults Only" part of the resort...we switched to MP. We had friends who got married at MP and thought they were in heaven their entire time. Wedding Date: July 17, 2010 @ 1pm What made you choose this date? We wanted Saturday. July was exactly 1 year from becoming engaged....so we picked from there. Have you decided on your wedding colors? If so, what are they? Black, White & Aqua What is something unique about your wedding? My "something Old" is a tiny pair of skulls that have been hanging on a leather strand from my fiance's jeep rear view mirror for years. I am having them attached on the ribbon that runs through the corset in the back of my dress. They will dangle from the there. I thought it was sentimental! Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: I have three little kids (2 yr, 5yr, 9yr) from a previous marriage....this is a "3rd times the charm" wedding. This will be my first ever "wedding" and it will be IT! I am not much into planning every tiny little detail....but I understand new first time brides who do! I am just at a different point in my life. Howevr, one thing very important to me is my 9 year old will be riding in the horse drawn carriage with me to the gazebo. Something special for just her and I! Congrats everyone!

  15. Jo, Congratulations! Jamaica sounds like so much fun. We are going to Cancun, but did look at going to one of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica at one point before deciding. I've heard they have beautiful weddings and some great package deals and promotions. **I always thought it would be fun to have a personal butler with white glove service as a treat during our honeymoon. They do that at Sandals!** Good luck! Chelle
  16. Hello Robyn, Congratulations on the engagement. The Riviera Maya is a beautiful area with lots of resort options. You will love this forum...it's chocked full of ideas. Good luck in your planning! Chelle
  17. Nicole, Congratulations. Good luck with your planning...you've come to the right place! Chelle

This is the one thing that I don't want to skimp on. Great photography and videography is non-negotiable for this fiesta! How interesting....we must be on the same wave length. Todd and I had both been married at the local Justice of the Peace and in Las Vegas. Obviously it didn't work out for either of us. We had friends who had gotten married in Mexico and we thought....How fun and why not! We deserve a great vacation and something different just for us. Also, photography is the the ultimate non negotiable item on my list. I could honestly care less about flowers and cakes and other items......We Want the remember this forever and the photography is crucial. I have seen the photo quality first hand from the resort photographers (our friends got married there)....and it is ok but not what I am looking for. I also saw their dvd....which again, was ok but not what I want exactly. To be honest we are currently planniing on cutting our own video from everyones camcorders going. About 5 of us (including our own) have the camcorders that record directly on memory cards with 60x zoom lens....so after seeing what you get from MP we are betting we will be just fine doing it ourselves. (I should say that I have some knowledge in this area...so it helps.) Also my brother in law is a wonderful (on the side-professional photographer). So he is coming to do the photos. I would love to bring another photographer on, but it will depend on budget. I so hear you on the non-negotiable part. I want this to be The Day....not the 3rd wedding! Ya know? This is it! Talk to you all later!
  19. Wow Nora, That sounded like quite the ordeal! Thank you for sharing so we all know ahead of time.
