  1. wait...that's not you?? holy crap it's your twin, lol!! i love the hair, and that's what i wanted but when i went down for my site visit i quickly realized that i'd need to wear it up in a bun. between the humidity and the wind, it'd end up looking frizzy

I do not think it is cute. I want the attention to be on me. Any other event I would be fine sharing, but not MY wedding. My FI mother has already hinted to having them in the wedding. And how cute the girl would look in her little dress. …meh i really think you need to put your foot down asap!! our ring girl is 12 and the flower girl is 7 and they are walking down together....and they are the ONLY children invited to our wedding. other people got kinda upset over this because they don't want to leave their kids behind since its a vacation, but i reminded them that it's actually MY wedding and there's a babysitting service at the hotel that they are more than welcome to use (and pay for). bring the kids for the week, but i don't want to see them, or hear them or ANYTHING from 4pm to 12 am!!! bitchy?? NO!

You have inspired me...to look for more DIY centerpiece designs and to learn how to post images. OK, here goes. great job on posting!! those centerpieces are great and i know how you feel about invitations, all that folding and we punched holes in ours and threaded the ribbon through...crazy!!! My only option was to have UGLY NON-MATCHING 10 cent stamps added on. The ladies at the post office yesterday were so nice though and made three phone calls about whether I could get away without the extra postage (the extra postage had to do with the thickness of the envelope and not being able to go through one of the sorting machines). They felt so bad that someone had given me the wrong info that one of the postal workers took all of my invitations and said she would go sit and add on the extra stamps to all 80 of them so that I wouldn't have to do it. Not a total disaster, but I was a bit upset that I had spent time getting really nice stamps to go on there and I had to have random stamps added on too. OMG!!!! this is EXACTLY what happened to me. i had the wedding rings stamp and was told that's all we needed then come to find out i needed like 20 more cents!!! they have a .64 stamp that is a wedding cake but we'd already put all the stamps on! UGGGHHH i was so upset, we ended up buying the same ring stamps and just having the extra postage!! ooh AND ontop of that, when i was trying to buy the extra ones, the lady told me they were on backorder and it would take SEVERAL weeks WTF!!! i ended up ordering them online!
  4. btw ladies i think i found my centerpieces, thanks to chris (peterpanpixiedust) from the Dreams Cancun thread.... i think they are so simple, but still beautiful and i'll put crystals or rocks or something around them. the only thing that worries me (besides the breaking glass ofcourse lol), is do you think that the petals will stain the water and then it'll all be a pink cloudy mess??
  5. mrstimpone...what time is your wedding? i'm so excited that we're getting married and will be there the same week it's getting soooo close now. we'll have to set up a drink date with FIs' so we can all celebrate for each other

  7. awww i've loved hearing about your planning along the way!! hopefully you can get it working, but if not who cares!!!! you getting married in NINE days!!!!!!!!!!! yayayayayyay! i'm sure everything will be amazing and you can just post it when you get back. enjoy your wedding and congrats!!!
  8. we dont have a registry for a couple of reasons...FI and I both had our own place before we moved in together so we basically had everything we needed. and i would feel weird registering for gifts when people are traveling so far and spending so much money to come to the wedding. we addressed the issue on our website by stating that their presence at our wedding was our present. and we know that people will still want to give something so we put something cute like "if you still want to, you can give a donation to our 'new furniture' fund", ie we want cash. also, my mom and MOH have insisted on throwing me showers (once again i didn't want this since we're having a DW). however, i am registering for this, since no one would give money at a shower and like i said before, we have most of the usual wedding gifts, so we are registering for really nice linens
  9. that sucks!!!! and it is very embarrassing and frustrating!! here's my USPS story: how bout when we took our invites, we had the post office weigh them and the worker said that we needed 2 stamps for international and one for domestic... me: are you SURE just one for domestic... him: yes ma'am. so FI and I buy 2 books of regular stamps and proceed to place them on all of the domestic invites. couple of days later i take them to the SAME post office and guess what?!? they need 20 more cents!! they make a 64 cent stamp, but it's bigger and different than the ones already on the envelope, so i had to buy 40 extra stamps, UGHH, why can't they get it right the first time!!!

FI won't let me now, lol!!! and i will also say that i am 99% sure that i'm just going to use the sand ceremony set that Dreams Cancun lets you borrow when we get married and just fill the actuall frame when we get home...i'm scared that the sand will shift on our way back and we'll have to re-do it anyway; so why take it there to begin with, kwim?
  11. OMG chris i LOVE your centerpieces!!!! how do they look in daylight?? i might have to "borrow" your idea!!! where did you get the floralytes?? thanks babe!!
  12. not too much at all!!!! it's beautiful and the lace makes it very romantic. mine is zuri by maggie sottero and its more flowly than yours in the back. personally, no other dresses gave me the shape that maggie dresses gave me. i say go with it!!!
  13. i've been getting mostly "no's" on our RSVPs and i LOVE it!!!
  14. yay date twins!!! OMG less than 3 months now!!!!!!!!! freaking out at this point. got a call from Airtran yesterday....they are no longer doing international flights on tues and weds so our flight is cancelled!!! WTF?!? so we're getting a refund, but i've been looking at flights and they are more expensive now, over it!!! if you ladies get ANY ideas for centerpieces please share...i have no clue, plus like mrs.timpone said, i don't want to take any more stuff down there! i might just end up paying for flower ones, idk!

So we are going with the tan paper bags instead as it is more cost effective (I am watching every penny and I can still put our initials on the front. But thanks for the list should and shouldn’t. I wasn't even thinking of put medication in the bags but that does make sense. Has anyone put bottled water in the bags with the personalized labels?? Is it a needed expense because it looks nice and everything matches or will I be ok with the Deer Park or Poland Spring labels?? Or should I not put in the water bottles?? i think it depends on your resort...i'm not putting water bottles in the bags b/c each room at the resort has a mini fridge that is stocked daily with bottled water and beer. 16. we're getting married on fri, because FI chose the actual date (the 24th is significant to us). it works out better as well because our guests leave sun so they still have a full day after the wedding to relax and unwind and Fi and I can spend time with everyone enjoying the memories
  17. the key when shopping for a dress is to have it fit the biggest, or widest, or fullest part of your body and then the rest can be taken in (within reason of course). i bet a halter type style would look really good on you b/c it'll give you support and coverage and will still show off your thin frame. a strapless with a corset back would look great as well, but you have to becareful that the neckline isn't too low or it'll look trashy. definatly look online at different site and in magazines so you can have an idea of what you like before you go to a bridal salon. personally, i'm a maggie bride and i LOVED every dress that i tried on. it was a hard decision for me b/c she really knows how to give every woman a beautiful silhouette Designer Wedding Gowns Featuring the Best Fit in the Industry - Maggie Sottero Bridal
  18. congrats rachel!!! and don't worry, you have plenty of time to get tons of ideas and advice from this site. Cecilia, my WC at Dreams Cancun actually recommended this site to me and it's been a life saver! check out the Dreams thread....lots of answers on there... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...2/#post1335909
  19. yay michelle cant wait for your review!!! shanbeth, yes they do the "legal" stuff during the ceremony. the ceremony is performed in spanish and translated and they have you and four witnesses sign and fingerprint several documents, so i would definately have songs prepared to fill the silence, lol! the blood work is done beforehand. a lot of brides do chose the legal ceremony in Mexico, but I personally couldn't imagine dealing with all the translating documents and blood work AND being there four days before. FI and i wanted to have our HM be longer so we are getting there 2 days before the wedding.
  20. i know i'm not the only one to say this....don't even waste any stress on what your guests are saying. it's YOUR wedding and unless they are paying for it, they have NO say in what you chose to do or where you decide to do it!!! they have plenty of time to save and if they don't then you can just show them pics when you get back
  21. i don't really like the way you look tonight for father/daughter, always thought of it as a 50th anniversary husband/wife song which i hope to get to one day i think you should do #1, it's perfect for a daddy's girl (which I am as well btw)!! one week till your wedding....yay, congrats!!!!
  22. wow first of all CONGRATS!!!! yay you're married to the love of your life!!! gorgeous pics and i LOVE the tango surprise!! now....i really really really think that you or hubby should write a letter to the president and every single VP that Hyatt has. it doesn't matter that they are run independently, the company name is still respresented as a whole. i can't believe that such a reputable chain (you are paying for a brand and that brand comes with a certain expected level of service) would drop the ball on one of the most important days of your lives and have the nerve to blame it on "bad luck"! WTF!!!! i understand that things happen and people aren't always on their "a game" BUT as a provider of customer service you do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to make it up to your guest!!! they should have bent over backwards for you and offered much more. sorry i'm in the service industry and this just got me all wound up!!!! we make things up to people all the time even when they don't have a legitimate claim. it pisses me off that they aren't doing more for you
