  1. I like the idea of limiting the type of drinks for a certain amount of time. It sounds like you're having a fun celebration dinner (no dancing) so the alcohol doesn't have to flow ALL night. Also, how far away is the restaurant from the hotel? Are you providing transportation? I know several people that have limited drinks b/c of the safety issue, and not for financial reasons.

His website is juanphotos.com and is worth checking out. Are you going with the wedding package at the resort? If you do choose an outside photographer you may be able to get a trade for the photos in your package but I know they have been cutting back on alot of the trades recently. If photos are really important to you and you have it in your budget, alot of the ladies seem to have gone with an outside photographer, usually claudia rodriquez studios. I am not sure what her website is but they have several phtographers, each with slighty different styles. On a seperate note, does anyone happen to have a price list of Juan Navarro's packages or atleast info on a TTD session the next day? I checked out his website and I love his style, plus it is included!! I think the package we chose (ultimate) includes two hours of photography, so we're going to use it because they aren't really doing many exchanges anymore. we're actually doing our TTD at playa del carmen during our honeymoon so I don't know about his rates for that.
  4. your dress is gorgeous, Jannae!! I think between the two links I've decided to do the session...both have amazing shots that I won't be able to get back home. Thank you ladies!!!!
  5. I'm sooo glad I found this thread!!! Has anyone gotten their suits recently?
  6. I'm wearing my hair in a low, messy bun and using a veil for the ceremony and then putting a flower in it for the reception, that way I can have both
  7. Hi ladies: I've search throught the forum for answers but I'm still not quite sure what a TTD session is. Do you do this the day after the wedding? Is this included in some photo packages? Are a lot of you doing this type of session? And last, if you have done this session, what did you like/dislike? Thank you for all your help ladies!!! I don't want to be the annoying newbie
  8. hey ladies, I was wondering what everyone's doing for photographers. I've seen good reviews about Juan Navarro and Cecilia Dumas. Any suggestions? Btw, thanks again Jessica! and Congrats Maria...you leave tom!!! Soooo excited...Can't wait to hear back. good luck to all the Nov brides, time flies!!!
  9. Diana, your wedding was beautiful!!!! Do you mind telling me who you ordered your bouquet from? I've seen that several girls have ordered real touch silk flowers. Did you have them sent to the hotel or did you bring them with you?
  10. Hi Mel, I was trying to decide b/t the beach and gazebo and after seeing your pics, it's definately the gazebo. Thank you for the great review!! One question...how long did you have the photographer for? Did you pay for any extra time and if so, how much was it?
  11. hi ladies...i hate to do this but we're having issues with the budget. can anyone email me syl's breakdown. i know it's been asked a million times, but pretty please?? [email protected] THANK YOU!!!
  12. thank you so much Jessica!! I was hoping to hear from someone who has been already. If you don't mind me asking, what room category did you stay in?
  13. Hi ladies I was wondering what eveyone is doing about honeymoon ideas. We were going to stay at Dreams for a week after the wedding, but now I'm thinking I want to go to Secrets Maroma Beach instead. We don't have the budget to fly to another location, but I still want to feel like we are going to our honeymoon. Any experiences or suggestions?? Thank you!!
  14. hey maria same here with the rain. it rained while we were there but late at night and for only ten to 15 mins; it really wasn't bad...don't worrry

There have been brides on here that have nothing but issues with the wire transfers, it is possible that they have made the process easier since then but who knows. I am hoping to pay the final payment at the resort on CC as well, i will indeed have to call my credit card company first so they are aware of the transaction but hopefully it wont be a problem, i am certainly not taking that much cash. I have not heard anything about paying 50% before the wedding, as far as i know all i have to pay is the deposit now, and then the remainder at the resort. Has anyone else heard anything about this?? cecilia told us we could pay how and when we wanted. you just need to make sure that the balance is paid off the day before the wedding.

Question - Cecilia sent me the payment options document. It says you can either pay with certified check or wire transfer. Does wire transfer mean sending them your credit card information? How did you all make your deposit payment? hi sorry...busy week!! a wire transfer is done directly from your bank account into theirs. i believe there is a percentage fee depending on you bank's policy. we're sending a certified check. i wouldn't pay with a credit card if i were you because the banks in mexico charge an extra fee depending on the exchange rate at the time, so your actual charge can be upto $50 more!!

  19. Well ladies I followed the advice of jcoop and signed the proposal with the date and time....so we're officially getting married 9-24-2010!!! We're sending STD tomorrow; I feel soooo relieved

I spent about half an hour with Cecilia (who is amazing by the way) on my arrival date and we got it all figured out. Since I was the only bride on my day, i could even have changed the time and location if i'd wanted to. that is VERY usefull information....it's been awful trying to communicate through email. I just want to get the date and time down and that's taking forever!!!

That makes sense about the difference between cocktail and dinner and just dinner. We're having 50 guests and a private welcome dinner so I'm trying to see if they can work something out like giving us the dance floor...will let you know ladies!!
