  1. I agree with LadyTrunck...take it one section at a time so it doesn't seem sooo long. Another tip: don't put too much pressure on each other to have everything be perfect as soon as you're finally together. I've been in the same situation and when we were finally in the same town, it took some adjustment that we weren't expecting.
  2. I bought the Maggie Sottero Zuri dress with a corsette back and got a size 6 my usual size is 5/7. So I agree that you should go just to make sure.
  3. love-my dad makes the best turkey!! pumpkin cheesecake?

I get asked constantly, "so when/how do we book the resort". What are you talking about---YOU ARE NOT INVITED!!!

  6. they are awesome!! you have everything that we were thinking about. I think we might add flip flops as well for the ladies. Old Navy has dollar flip flop days
  7. my biggest help was going through the search function...so many questions have already been answered. If you think of it, someone else already has!! And yes HAVE FUN!!! good luck and welcome

I think it will depend on what we are looking for....we have been living together for such a long time that our honeymoon wont be as such a big thing to us as it would be for most newly married couples. I think we will be looking at it more like a vacation with the perk of us just getting married....however it is good to hear that perspective for sure! Thanks again for your input! I agree that your situation makes a difference. I'm sure you guys would have a great time no matter what! If you decide on the resort...let us know how it went; we might might do an anniversary trip
  9. oh no that's unacceptable. The guests you can't do much about, but the BM situation would really upset me. You are not over reacting at all. When you agree to be in someone's wedding, you are no longer a guest!! Yes it is a lot of money, but no one forced her to accept the responsibility. As much as we love our wedding party, I was very upfront about the booking "deadline" b/c I feel that with everything else going on, I should definately not be worried about BMs and GM!!! good luck!

It's a good idea b/c then you'll have amazing pics of both dresses. Lady Trunck--I PMd you back

I was really stressed about that at first too, but I figured since I was giving people a year's notice, they could budget or decide to stay at a different resort. Plus I remind them that its all-inclusive so really they're getting a great deal.

It's good that she's back now. I'm sure you'll find it when you can take your time!!
  13. I think it'll look really cute if you MOH walks with him down the aisle. I've seen it done before and the pics look really good b/c of the interaction b/t them as they walk.
  14. outdoorgirl 1010: your pic inspirations are sooo pretty. I love the cakes and your flowers!!!

First off, as some of you have read in my 'rant', I had a very hard time convincing FI to do a TTD session! And all of my wonderful BDWers gave me all of the tools I needed to convince him! So now I'm planning it- Unfortunately, Elizabeth Medina who will be photographing my wedding is not available for my TTD-- I was sad, but she is a very busy, talented woman, so of course I understand. I am now looking to get Cecilia Dumas, who also does beautiful work. OK OK on to my questions!! 1. Cecilia's package is for a one hour session. Is that enough time? I have noticed that most other packages are for 2 hours... 2. I am doing the session the day before the wedding, one of FI's requests. OBVIOUSLY I cannot wear my dress, so I am looking to get a knockoff one made online. Do you have any suggestions on the best fabric? Also, the one I was looking to get redone, is Maggie Sottero 'Reese'. Do you think it's too slim from the waist down to look good in the water? I really don't know what I would do without you guys!! I'm deciding b/t Cecilia and our wedding photog. Do you mind telling me how much she quoted you for the hour? I'm getting a different quote from another bride and just wanted to compare. As for the dress, I actually tried that one on before deciding on the one I bought (also Maggie) and it's great. It has enough fabric to look really good in the water and the material is perfect!!
  16. Welcome!!! I've gotten great ideas from this forum, if you search through you can pretty much find an answer to anything!!! there is a dreams cancun thread that has answered a lot of questions for me. you can also add your date to the dreams cancun only date thread. I think there are several brides getting married in Feb. Good luck with the planning
  17. WOW!!! It's funny how everyone seems to think that DWs are "stress-free"!!! I sure did before I started this whole adventure. I hope we can all help each other remember that in the end, there are only 2 people that really matter--and they'll both definately be there on a sidenote, I am so sick of not getting emails returned!!! I mean do these people want my money or not I know that different parts of the world have their own ideas of customer service, but it's so hard to be patient when all you want to do is decide between 2 photographers so that you can put down a deposit!!!!
  18. did you send STDs? I think that makes a difference b/c people know before the invites are sent out. I don't think the holidays matter in the sense of budget b/c it's already late Nov and people have budgeted for holiday expenses (and if you did send STDs, then they have budgeted for you wedding by now as well). I would be really, really worried that they would get lost in the holiday card shuffle; so I'd send them the first week of Jan and get an RSVP no later than Feb 5th or so. Good luck!!
  19. I actually sent my STDs today Our wedding is Sept 24 2010 and I am sending the invitations March 1st and having the RSVP due Aug 1st. It's hard with a DW. You kind of have to evaluate your group. We let the word out once we got engaged that it would be a DW (this was in July) and started getting feed back from everyone. Our STDs have our wedding website (which I definately recommend taking the time to do) and people can RSVP through that if they want. So you could have a link that lets them RSVP, that way you don't have to wait till you get response cards. Unfortunaly, I don't think you'll have a good estimate until after April (when you can actually start booking). We did our website through weddingwire.com. It was easier than others I tried, everything is step by step--and it's free!! Good luck!!!

Are you guys wearing the same dress for the TTD session or buying a different one? Weird!!! Are you doing the session at Dreams? We're actually doing it at Secrets in Riviera Maya b/c that's where we are going for our honeymoon. Maybe that's the difference? If we go with her, I'll definately bring this up so thank you!! I am getting a different dress. I thought a/b using my wedding dress b/c what else would you do with it, right?? But I just don't think that I can trash it I saw another brides TTD with del Sol (which is amazing but WAY out of our price range), and her dress looked really good in the water and it was only $100 from Victoria's Secret!!
