photography is a must for us!! we are going with the photog included in the package and then hiring a different photog for the TTD. i think you'd regret it if you didnt get professional pics. the resort should be able to show you the photogs work. plus you never know what kind of pics your guests will take. they want to pay attention to the ceremony and have fun at the reception, so they might miss all the key moments when taking pics.

even though it would be ok to ask them to pay for lunch since you are paying for the trip, it would be much better to pay for the entire thing yourself. they didn't plan the excursion, you did it as a gift to your guests. i would come up with the extra $200

we are doing ours locally 2 weeks before we leave b/c some of the party wont be there till the day before either. i'm sooo excited b/c my friends keep sorta talking about it and saying they can't wait and that we're gonna have so much fun. i have NO idea what we're doing but all i can do is wait. i do know that FI's guys are planning his for the same night and at the end the girls and guys will meet up at one of our fav bars cant wait!!

bottom line...it's YOUR day. not only that but its YOUR money! even if it seems harsh, those people who would feel like they should be invited, are not paying for it so it really isn't up to them. we are having an AHR when we get back from the HM, and suddenly everyone who was and wasn't invited to the wedding thought they would be invited to the AHR...umm correction, NO b/c then it would be like having a wedding here anyway, money wise. so i've had to be very firm about this. if you are going to be invited you will get an invitation and if anyone has a problem with this, it's on them. if they donate $$$ to the wedding fund, then they can have an opinion that matters. in the end the you are inviting the people who matter most to you, your close friends and family. so do the people who might be offended matter that much to make you change all your plans and go into wedding debt??...NO. you are already sacrificing things for FIs sister (completely understandable), you've done enough.

his idea of a perfect day is lying in bed, watching movies and ordering chinese if you suddenly had an unlimited budget, would you change your e-ring?

update ladies! we sent the deposit to our TA for the wedding days and the HM resort and we also secured the TTD photog for the week of the HM!! yay 7 months to go!!!

ok normally i am known as the girl who always says DO YOU FIRST!!! and i belive that in almost every case....however, the stupid b*tch is your FI's brother's WIFE. if she doesnt come to the wedding, FBIL probably won't come either. then FI won't have his bro there and thats no bueno!! so like the ladies before me have said, invite her to the necessary stuff to shut her up, stay as far away from her as possible, but definately kick her out of the wedding party. she already said you should find someone else to fill her spot, so in a nice but firm tone you can inform her that you don't want to take away from her busy schedule so you've found someone else to handle her responsibilites. if she keeps acting like she's 10, then have FI talk to his brother b/c at some point you really do have to put your foot down and DO YOU FIRST
