  1. I'm assuming I came late to the game...mind sharing where you got the orchids from?
  2. Hey Average Jane, don't worry about the terrace remodel, I'm sure it's for the best! And you'll get a brand new terrace to party on! I haven't heard back from Cecilia since sending out an email 3wks ago, so I finally sucked it up and bought a calling card and just called...to my surprise she picked up at first ring! If you have concerns, I say you just go ahead and give her a call, she sounded busy but definitely took time to chat. Good luck with last minute planning and congrats!
  3. I was going to go with Entertainment Plus, who offer private tours for big groups (40-50 in mine), but then I found JULIETA fun unique events <[email protected]>, she has a/c'd private vans or buses and has really good prices and was recommended by some other bride who used her services here. Good luck!
  4. yea, it's 11pm anywhere BUT the ballroom...I thought about doing it in there (even though the ballroom at Dreams is pretty dreadful) but it's not available anyway. Will definitely do an after party and then come back to dreams for some post-after-party room service! yeah!

  6. Yea, you will still use the indoor space, I'll try to post a pic (I got the one above from another amazing posters' site visit review). I can't imagine they will not cover the terrace but I'm not sure. I'm feeling hesitant about celebrating the wedding on the terrace now...my guest list keeps growing and people I thought would never actually go are now buying tickets...thinking 80 people are NOT going to fit here...and also don't like the 11pm curfew...that tends to be when the party starts going! Hmm...what to do...
  7. congrats on the wedding! Sounds like everything went great, thanks for taking time to write this, can't wait to see pics!
  8. So I talked to Cecilia today, she told me they are renovating the terrace...no more "palapas" or individual hut things (see pic), so she thinks the terrace might be more spacious given there will be no poles in the way...not sure about any of the details though...maybe whoever goes down next can let us know about the new changes... Now if only they would renovate the rooms, it'd be great And make an infinity pool instead of the lagoon...lol
  9. d'oh! Good think I asked! lol....or there would've been a ton of pics of my flab floating around! lol
  10. omg- I didn't realize pics were required! Weekly?!?! Are there pic rules? Like in a sportsbra or something? I just read season 8 rules. I haven't taken pics...but sounds like it'll be even more motivating! I'm excited, April 16th it is!
  11. EW Events AND mica de miralls.... I have emailed both of you within the past 2 weeks and still haven't gotten a response...can you please send me more info? Thanks!

However, if money is no object, then these companies seem to do a great job, and it looks like they do big corporate events as well. It might be better to work through an independent wedding planner? Sometimes they are able to get better rates b/c of their relationships. Thanks for the tips, I hadn't seen all of those, but the ones that you did mention also gave me outrageous quotes...even higher than the hotel itself! And money is most definitely an object! More like an object I don't have! lol Thanks Micasdemiralls, I PM'd you too.
  13. Check out Stillmotion Cinema and Joe Simon ***dream*** Their videos make me cry EVERY TIME. They do destination videography...or film making really, prob cost a whole lot more than locals though
  14. Help! I would LOVE an elegant ballroom wedding at my hotel's ballroom...but I want it to look like these: What companies may be able to make these images come to life? My hotel is capable of draping only, but charge too much for my taste. Luckily they allow outside vendors Any ideas who would be able to do this for what prices? I'm hiring a band, and not a DJ (I know most DJ's do lighting too). Thanks for any ideas!
  15. I wanted parasols for my BMs...but worried about the wind factor. Do these hold up well in high wind?
  16. Oooh! I've been looking forward to season 9! I am definitely joining this one! Thanks for offering to host, and day of weigh-in doesn't matter to me. I am up for starting soon too! Even April sounds good! hehehe
  17. Is insanity worse than plyometrics? uggggh...plyo kicked my butt today...came thiiiiiiis close to throwing up
  18. I originally thought about Himitsu beach because the wind factor is less, the sunset happens there, and now that the other beach got re-done, I think it's way huge and probably not as intimate (all stipulation based off facebook pics). The cons to H-beach are that the restaurant is right there and hence a lot of observers. On a positive note, Cecilia mentioned that a reception at the new beach could probably go on till midnight (opposed to 11pm everywhere else).
  19. Hey Laurenvuitton, we are wedding date twins! I love your monogram btw...where did you get it? I have been trying to make my own but can't find that starfish icon...love it!
  20. Thanks for taking time to post this! Looks like your day was perfect and you looked so beautiful! Thanks for sharing
  21. I heard that chocolate milk thing too! But then I also heard the recovery formula tastes like orange creamsicles...yummy...I wish they sold individual packets so I didn't need to get the whole thing. I am sad to say, I fell off the wagon last week...had a trip to DC for work, then a trip to visit my parents...tried to eat OK, but had a nice workout break that was not really deserved considering I had only done 7 days. Anyway, new monday, new stamina, new track...did Kenpo and abs today, didn't make me sweat thaaaaat much.
  22. I think you can't even bring them in checked luggage! I just got on a plane yesterday, and there is a sign at check-in that says "no fireworks or explosives," and technically sparklers count They're prob cheaper in Cancun anyway! Maybe Cecilia/Claudia can hook it up...
