We had originally planned to be married on the resort that we were staying at, getting married off resort had never crossed our minds. Delays in the timing of our paperwork made that impossible. I started a thread on TripAdvisor asking about off-site wedding planners and a few posters recommended Jamaica Elegant Weddings. Their website indicated that they could handle last minute weddings, with the documents being send a minimum of 7 days prior, so I sent them an email. By the next morning not only had I received an email response, but I also received a phone call from Dawn. I explained to her our situation and the uncertainty regarding the paperwork, and everything was no problem. We kept in touch over the month or so that followed, and 2 weeks before our wedding date we finally were able to proceed. We had all of our documents copied and notarized and sent them to Dawn by fax. Dawn made everything so easy and stress-free, it truly was a pleasure dealing with her. She even took the time to call us the night before we left for Jamaica, and met with us at our resort the day after we arrived. We wanted a beach wedding, with a bouquet, a flower for my hair and some pictures – very simple. On the day of our wedding, Dawn arrived to pick us (and our witnesses) up and we were off to the beach at Our Pasttime . We arrived to find an aisle of flower petals with 2 potted palms at the end, it was beautiful and more than we had anticipated! We were seated in the bar area, while they finished the preparations. Dawn brought all of us cold water and cold cloths while we waited. The ceremony was short but very nice. Afterwards we had several pictures taken, and throughout Dawn kept bringing us and our party cold drinks and patting us down with cold cloths! The attention that we received was simply amazing! After waiting only a few minutes, our pictures were ready for viewing and selection. The pictures were wonderful, so we had trouble selecting only 10. We were offered a CD with all of the pictures for a little extra, which they burned for us right away. When we were ready, Dawn delivered us back to our resort. For any brides considering a destination wedding, I would highly recommend using the services of Jamaica Elegant Weddings. Most people consider only the resort wedding, but keep this in mind - the resort that we stayed at did an average of 2-3 weddings per day, their choices for times were 1, 2, 3 or 4 pm. In many cases, the wedding coordinator would have to leave the wedding to get ready for the next one!! We had the choice of morning or afternoon, and had all of Dawn’s attention. Our beach wedding site was beautiful and quiet; there was one beach wedding at our resort where topless sunbathers were literally a few feet away from the wedding arch! We had the pleasure of attending another wedding on our resort while we were there and we couldn’t believe the difference in the little details - the mother of the groom had to go to the Spa to get a cold cloth for the bride! We are considering these wedding planners for our Nov wedding. Has anyone had any experience with them? I'm finding it difficult to find much information on any of them Thanks!
