No offense taken! Well for us, my husband and I got married when I was 19, he had just turned 20, and he had just completed basic training for the Air Force and I was just a sophomore in college, so we were both essentially broke, so we got married at the courthouse, with just me, him, and the JP for $36. So our vow renewal, which will be on our 7th anniversary, is the wedding we always wanted but couldn't afford when we got married over 6 years ago. So except for the fact that we are already married thus no need for official docs, I'm treating it like a regular weedding. However, I didn't really expect gifts since it is a vow renewal and we are pretty much set, but I have family and friends constantly asking me for a registry, so I thought the honeyfund would be a good idea. Thanks!
  4. Another Soror! Yea, it would be funny if you came to the Bahamas! They actually have a chapter in Nassau, so I'm sure we'll see some Bahamian Sorors! Classadiva, we may cross paths since we plan to do some activities at Atlantis! Don't feel like a sloth, my husband says my organization is borderline excessive lol.. I even have a budget line for undergarments lol..

Yes I am! HEY SOROR!!!! It is definitely a small world...lol! I may see you since we are coming in on July 1 but we aren't leaving until July 9. I spent 1-2 months just on organizing a multi-sheet spreadsheet of every aspect of this wedding, so after I finished that... I just started going down the list when I have downtime..lol
  6. I have booked Bahamas Wedding Photographer | Mario Nixon Photography, Nassau, Paradise Island, Atlantis, Grand Bahama, Eleuthera, for my wedding in Nassau. You can also try Bahamas Wedding Photographer, Ben Jamieson - Nassau, Paradise Island, Atlantis, Exuma, Eleuthera and Abaco or Professional Photographer Tim Aylen
  7. I love your book and that is such a great idea! I can't wait to get home and do my book. I'm already on dreamstime searching for pics of Nassau. Thanks for posting!

  9. Has anyone had their wedding at Riu in the Bahamas? If so, could you please let me know your review on it? Were the prices for the wedding/rooms resonable? What was your reception like? I haven't had my wedding, but I was considering it. All I know is that it is an all-inclusive resort and the weddings were reasonably priced, but they have the following requirement: Quote: *In order to have a wedding at our Riu Hotels & Resorts, the couple and the 80 percent of the total amount of the wedding guests must stay at the hotel where the wedding will be performed; otherwise it will be canceled. This is a strict RIU policy we must follow. Wedding Packages by Destination. Honeymoon Holidays. Weddings by Riu
  10. How exciting! My session isn't until February, so I'll be nervous and excited for the next 3 or so months. It was supposed to be a surprise for my husband on our wedding day, but I couldn't hold it in passed a week.
  11. Thanks! I visited the one bridal store in Tucson, AZ that does carry the Dessy stuff, so I was able to see the bridal flip-flops, the satin ties, and the matching pocket squares. They also had the swatches, so I was able to compare their claret/ivory with the Alfred Angelo claret/ivory and they are almost exact. Though, it did cost more to order through them than to order only, like a $20 difference, but they said it will take up to 14 weeks to come in..wow. I'm glad I'm doing this now. 14 weeks for that, then 1 month for my husband's linen suit, then another month for the groomsmen's suits once we verify with hubby's suit. Then about 2 mths before we leave we have to order my son's linen suit, because he's only 10 months old and he'll be 18months by the time we leave. However, at 10 months old, he's already in 24months sizes. ** sighs **
  12. I stumbled upon Dessy.com through one of the ads and noticed that they had bridesmaid sandals and satin neckties that come in my specific colors which are Alfred Angelo's Claret and Ivory. I wanted to order the sandals for me and my bridesmaid in case the sand is hot in the Bahamas, and the satin neckties for the groomsmen and my husband, but I'm unsure of the quality of either.
  13. I got my swatches yesterday! I believe we are going with the Beige Linen. We are going to test them out by ordering my husband's suit first. Has anyone ever used them for kid's suit. My son will be the ringbear, we'll see how that goes, and will be a mini-version of his dad.
  14. I decided to email Denise Bastian, and this was her reply Quote: Allow me to put your mind at ease. A year ago we did extensive renovations, which included some (559) sleeping rooms, Casino upgrade and Restaurant refurbishments. We closed for August – October 5, 09 at which time management did internal upgrades that could not be done if the hotel was occupied. I assure you we are not closing any time soon for any renovations because we are extremely busy, which is a great thing and we welcome your arrival. I promise not to keep anything from you; I will not keep you in the dark about no aspect of your wedding.
