I only ordered it a month and half ago and have lost like 2 lbs. The size I had tried on in the stores was the size that I order because it fit like a glove. I just ordered it in a petite instead since I am short. Luckily DB remember this, so they are reordering my gown in one size down (while holding my original one, in case one size down is too small). But now I have to wait until July Quote: Originally Posted by Angie1017 Thanks! Yup, I am going to go barefoot during the ceremony, and wear those after and at the reception. I bought my dress one size too small! LOL! I'm down about 12 lbs...so far, so good! Angie, I wish I could go barefoot, but we are getting married in the gazebo. My FI felt like it could be decorated more. Your shoes are gonna be perfect. Let us know if the rhinestones are ok or if they are catchy. -

Di, no problem & thanks for all of the measurements. You totally rock! Beachbum, I felt like that too, but after seeing so many pics, I gotta have it! LOL! Lisa, when did you book? I'm sure you have the dance floor too, right?

You are booking through him and don't have to pay the vendor fee? Sorry, i'm so confused! I agree! I was so pissed yesterday, lol! You just answered a question I had-Thanks! When we first started looking, we saw the $1200 price and my FI said-"How is the DJ only $850 now? I thought it was $1200." That must have included the floor. Now I see why the difference in price. It is no longer a package, it is separate so they can make more $. Let me try to unconfuse you. Note: this is all my opinion. If you booked through Ivan before December, you got his rate (which is cheaper)-this is probably before he became one of the house DJs. Because of this, you have to pay the vendor's fee because he was an outside vendor and the resort didn't get anything. With the new price list, the fees are more expensive because he is one of the house DJs and The Royal gets a cut off the top. I asked Ivan about a discount on the floor and he said he can not make a discount because The Royal sets the price. So this makes me believe that the prices are set by him and The Royal. Because of this, the prices have gone up. I'm paying $1600 or $1650. In short, because you booked him directly (when he was an outside vendor and before the policy change), the resort got nothing so they charge you a vendor's fee. Because I am booking him after the change (after he became one of their vendors) the resort gets the money off the top and I have no fee. The point: The old contract (that you have) is better. If you go under the new contract (which I have) you will not have to pay a vendor's fee to book him but you will have to pay the increased price. An example of this would be if you book Elizabeth Medina for your photographer, you pay an vendor's fee for her. If she becomes the official photographer for The Royal instead of Funever, you won't pay a fee for her. Now, add to that: Once she becomes the official photographer, her prices go up (and she and The Royal get more $ from you). Does this help? The moral of the story is: The Royal is always going to get their money!

I believe if you book through the resort, then the same price is ONLY for his services without the dance floor. Don't quote me on this so I guess the only way to find out is to contact him directly. It is $10pp for the cocktail hour for real resort guests and $20 for non guests. We are not doing OOT bags because we are splurging on other stuff. Did he actually say that anyone who books him directly won't have to pay the vendor fee? I emailed him last night and he said that we do have to pay the vendor fee because we booked him directly. I would like to get bottom of this. Quote: Originally Posted by beachbum1285 For my OOT bags, I figured once those individual people get there, then we'll give them their bag at that time. I have so many people coming at staggered times and days, and there's no way I'm paying $5 for them to give a bag that I can do myself. My fiance and I were thinking we could play like dumb big kids and leave it at their door, knock, and run real fast. Dumb, by fun. Quote: Originally Posted by dianep i think i'll just have my OOT bags at the front desk - i've heard there's no charge to have them handed out to guests upon their arrival. i know we're on several of the same threads, so i can't remember if i've seen you on the TTD thread. there are several pictures of TTD sessions. i'm hoping to do mine in a cenote nearby. what an amazing look and surrounding for pictures! something so exotic about them! my FI isn't excited about the TTD, so we'll see if i get him into a cenote fully dressed. if i can get a few pictures even at the beach, i'll be fine, but i'm hoping for a cenote! Di, If it's not too personal, how much did you pay for Ivan? It sounds to me that because you all booked before the change, you got a cheaper rate. Because of that, they want as much money from you as possible (which probably still is still less expensive to the $850 we are paying plus I think $700 or $750 for the dance floor.) This is my opinion to why they are making you pay the extra $100. This policy of paying the vendor's fee if you book directly was probably made so that The Royal makes money. Basically, if you book him direct and pay no vendor's fee then the resort gets nothing (and we ALL now how they feel about getting as much as they can!). Now, since the new price list in December, they are all working together, overcharging us and splitting the profits. I am booking through him and don't have to pay the extra fee but-hell-I'm paying about $1600 for him and the floor. Beachbum & Diane P., I do think I'm going to hand the OOT bags out. That way, I won't have to check with everyone to make sure they got their bags or if everything was in them. Beachbum, I love the knocking and running! Too funny!

I'm a bit worried the rhinestones on the sandals might catch on my dress since it's lace, but I'll test it out Absolutely beautiful Angie! I really dig your headpiece and earrings! Are these the shoes you will wear under your gown? I'm noticing that more and more brides are wearing either flip flops or colored flats. I haven't decided about my shoes yet. I am posting my headpiece so you can see it. I got it from David's Bridal. When you want to upload a pic, another bride told me about tinypic.com. You just go to the site, upload your pic and copy the code for discussion boards. Hopes this helps! -

And I would also like to know about OOT bags. I hear its like $5 for each bag for them to hand deliver them to rooms. Those thieves! I thought about waiting for my guests in the lobby on the day they arrive to give it to them but that is a lot of work and I want to lay on the beach and relax!! Thanks! I've been keeping them. I read the thread from beginning to end so I've been saving EVERYTHING! It's just so frustrating! More than likely, we are going to have a welcome cocktail and pass them out there. The next night we will probably have a rehearsal event (dinner or something-still planning it) and pass them out for those who weren't at the first event.

I got selected to be on a jury today. I need to take days off work and I have soooo much going on! For you all who are making OOT bags, how are you going to pass them out? Now, on another note, I found out that someone else booked. So now we have 15!!! YAY!!!! I'm very thankful for you ladies!

Lots of ladies at my resort are having problems hearing from their WCs. Luckily, mine is awesome!!!!! She always gets back to me within 48hrs of an email. We are not going with the photographers at our resort-they are not good! Because this is so important-we are gonna pay to go with a MUCH BETTER photographer! -

Ivan has confirmed that I can hire him privately, but I am wondering whether it would be worth it if I have to pay the $350 vendor fee, or whether I should just book directly with the resort. I asked my WC is there a vendor fee if we book him and she told me he's the house DJ (so no). Also, Ivan told me himself there is no booking fee if you book through him. You get more bang for your buck if you book directly through him. That's what we are doing!

Hi Ladies! I am getting married on December 11 at The Royal Playa del Carmen! We've got 16 booked so far and are in the process of booking the D.J. and photographer. I'm almost done with our OOT bags but I can't seem to stop shopping!!! I'm sooooo excited!
