Hey Ladies! I hope everyone's planning is going well! I am pretty sure Di used Fernando for hair and Norma from Mac in Cancun for makeup. I am booking my hair with Doranna and I think I'm going to go with Adrianne from Studio H/Waves to airbrush my makeup. We are also in the process of booking Victor Herrera for our photographer. I am happy that things are FINALLY starting to fall into place. We are just shy of four months and I was starting to feel panicky. Â On another note, I sent yet ANOTHER email to corporate and to Zulma with the subject Dissatisfication with wedding coordinator/planning services and got a reply. I'm hoping that they continue to reply to my questions. Â Any new ladies who read through this board when trying to make a decision, know this-Everyone who gets marries at The Royal love it and everything seems to work out in the end. However, they are HORRIBLE at responding to your inquiries. If you need to feel like you have someone's attention who really prioritizes your wedding while in the planning stage and/or expect answers to your questions from the coordinators in a reasonable amount of time, this IS NOT the resort for you. Â I wish everyone the best of luck! Â Lisa, how was our legal day?????Yay for you!

Runningbride, if you choose the ones that are free, just mark $0 or included on your checklist. We're doing the classic package and adding on what we want. That package comes with a bouquet and a bout for the fiance. Â I still haven't heard back from the Royal. It's really ridiculous. I couldn't reach Zulma via telephone. On a lighter note, I have decided to book Doranna for my hair. She has years of experience and has experience straightening hair. I think I am going to go with an updo instead of a straw set. Her work is excellent and her prices are way cheaper than some of the other quotes. Her website is http://www.dorannahairstylist.com/ If you decide to book her, let her know you got her info. from me. I hope it all works out!

Hey Ladies! Sorry I've been MIA but I returned to work Thanks for sharing about Jill. I think I'm going to book Doranna for hair and do the paper/MAC thing you suggested for makeup. But you all were not able to sit together, no? That is so expensive. I thought my stylist was high. Hot dog!!!!!At least we know he's talented. LMBO!

Thanks for posting this! OMG!!!! That means this will affect us. Our flight is booked the same way and so many of our guests!!! Do you have the link that you read this at? If so, can you post it? Can you change it with no fee? how does this work? Thanks Jess, do you remember if this was the same price Di paid to have them come to her room? To answer #2, I think that we are going to have a Welcome cocktail at the lobby bar. I can't believe we still haven't heard from Zulma or corporate after the email I sent. This WC business at The Royal is for the birds! I hope the newer brides have better experiences! Welcome Ladies!

It really is a shame. Anyone who read the email I sent should be on top of it! SMH! Ridiculous! I think 2 hours is a long time. However, I think if you have something planned it can be ok. If I'm correct, you're doing cocktail hour at the resort then going over to Kool, right? Maybe you can do the cake cutting and a champagne toast there. Then, you can have your mariachi band play. Maybe you could do the garter, bouquet toss or have maid of honor or best man give their toasts during that time. Oh-here's an idea-I bought tropica trophies from Oriental Trading. We're going to have an awards ceremony giving those and Vistaprint freebees (calendar, keychain, mousepads, etc.) for different categories like the first person to book, etc. I think it can work as long as you have something to help time pass.

Thanks for the tip, Di! Ladies,I think I have a spa menu from Julie, but it's on my computer at home. I'll check to see if it's in my email. If so, I will do an edit and upload it. Jes, Did you ever hear from Zulma? I sent her and Patty from corporate an email about their service on Friday and have not received a response. I have o honestly say although I'm sure it will work out in the end, I really don't appreciate the lack of responses and if I had to do it all over again I didn't think I would book here again. I'm definitely going to put all of the problems I've had in my review. If we didn't have 30 people booked already...

Some people are so stupid! It just occured to me that you could say, Well it's a good thing you're not the one who picked it...or... You're right-It's what I (emphasize I) wanted so it's what I (emphasize I again) planned or...Well then-it's a good thing it's not your wedding, LOL! That should shut them up!

I know I'm a bit late but guess what? I've stayed at The Royal Cancun. My FI and I went in 2008 and LOVED it! He is a very picky person and had a wonderful time! It is awesome because the back of the hotel is where the new expanded beach is. That's where you can go to lounge around. The front of the hotel is a regular city street. Your guests who want to be able to go into town to party can hope a bus right there and take it into town. If you ask me, that's the best of both worlds. The Cancun location is so beautiful, the rooms and the ceiling fans are to die for. It really is a nice place! We absolutely loved the resort so much so that we are getting married at The Royal Playa del Carmen. In addition to being a Royal brand, we loved that guests who wanted to party would have easy access and guests who wanted to chill could do just that. The naysayers are just that-naysayers. Remember that this is your wedding and you should be planning it the way you want. I PROMISE YOU that those who have something slick to say will definitely be eating their words!
