  1. AlexsBride: that is TOO funny! i actually tried making it myself and it turned out nice. but the wire i bought wasn't strong enough to even hold a sweater so there would be no way it would hold a dress!

You've got good taste. hi there! actually the pics are from etsy.com so it's not my dress nor my hanger (mine will say mrs. torres). but i do agree that it's a beautiful dress!

  5. hi ladies! just wanted to share my diy stuff... :: centerpiece :: inspiration :: instead of using river rocks as a filler i'm going to use beach sand so it's one less thing to bring to mexico and i'll save money! i might buy a few artificial flowers or purchase single stems at a florist in mexico. i bought these wooden planters at ikea which are about $5 each. i might tie a ribbon around it. i'm not sure if i should paint them white or if i should leave them raw for a more natural, beachy feel. not sure yet. thoughts? since real sea fans won't pass through customs i'm going to buy artificial ones and maybe paint them or leave as is since red is one of wedding colors. :: favors :: set of magnets :: clear top tin canister from specialtybottle.com $0.63 each. clear glass marbles from michael's (sale price $1/bag). magnets from michael's about $5? for pack of 50. designed and printed the graphics myself on laser print paper. :: swizzle sticks :: used bamboo skewer sticks that i already have at home. used wraphia for top that i have at home too! designed and printed graphics myself on laser paper. :: escort cards :: this is just a mockup so it got a little roughed up inspiration

  11. i think white sashes would be ok on white chairs. but i'd probably use a different material than traditional organza and play with the idea of including a nice textured fabric.
  12. great post! i was wondering the same thing and was already planning to do it anyway. i think 1 runner per table looks best. it's a bit much with 2 criss cross runners and will looks like a bunch of X's from a far.
  13. i would suggest 1 or 2 since i've never seen it done. totally unique!

The bags can contain local specialties (such as food or beverage items manufactured or invented locally), souvenirs, area maps, tickets or passes to local amusements, etc. The bags can be left at the hotel where the guests are staying and the front desk will usually distribute them to guests upon arrival. The decor of the bags can match the theme of the wedding.
  15. i think the flowers are nice. but the leaves need to be replaced. it's too fake-looking.
  16. be cautious when bringing in shells or anything made of shells (like capiz). i think it falls in the same category as starfish!

  19. super cute! but i would be careful about bringing in shells or anything made of shells into another country and passing customs. i don't think it's allowed.
  20. wow! looks like amazon's out of stock. i got mine at linens n things: Umbra Ether Frame 10.5X8" Espresso Picture Frames
  21. I agree...all those $1 items totally add up when you have 40+ guests. Think I'm going to invest in a small oot pouch or cosmetic bag with welcome letter and itinerary. I think the guests will be just as surprised and thankful that I didn't give them more stuff that they'd have to lug on the way home.
  22. geez....i was so set on shipping my centerpieces to mexico now i'm not sure
