That'll teach me to stay up past my bedtime!! lol We're leaving this Fri!!! I'm soooooooo excited that Tezzie is going to meet his cousins for the first time, and his Aunt and Uncle too! Plus I can't wait to shop and see my Mom too! She's flying in the day before me and then we are traveling back to NS together...I would LOVE to stretch the trip through Christmas, but Rene, FI, would kill me - he can't do without us for that long...he could probably do without me!! lol but definitely not the baby, and he'd want to be home for Christmas too!! Oh well, maybe next year! It will be a nice needed trip away, that's for sure! Now, if Alberta would just get it together and re-open these stupid vaccination clinics so that we can get ours before we leave!

Hehe....we are trouble!! X2!!! It's too bad that you didn't live closer to us Ladytrunck! But...I am a little envious of where you live!! I love the heat, and I love the sun!!! You may not survive in the -40 Celsius temperatures here! We had a blast at coffee, it is great to unload all wedding ideas on another BDW'er, at least it gave our FI's a break!! lol Although, I still say if they catch on to everything we're doing they may not let us hang out together anymore, lol. Every time we chat, and probably every time we meet will end up in Dollars spent! HAhaha -

Instead of those four images I chose, I decided to make my own clipart. It comprises of three diff images that I found online and took me all night to make but I'm very happy with the outcome...I took into account the flower with the red center that you all liked and added a watercolor twist to it. There's still a lot of cleaning up to do but, which one do you guys like better? Ooooooooooooo, I LOVE them Tonya!!! Definitely the one's with the pop of color, either are beautiful so basically it just comes down to whichever color you like more!! Good job! and it only took you all night! I'm still working on mine....lol Have fun with the trick or treaters!! That'll be sooooo fun! We're going to a house party so we won't even be home to pass out treats ( So Lame! I do wish I had some treats to eat, have a couple for me will ya!

Ok, this will be quick....I promise - for those of you anywhere else in the world here is MY brief experience with our medical system in Alberta: 1. Go to the doctor for an ulcer 2. Get Bombarded by my Strong Eastern European Doctor about my thyroid and requisitioned to immediately do a full blood analysis/urinalysis/pelvic ultrasound?? (not sure where that came from?) 3. trying to contain my 16 month old who is terrorizing the office and politely rearranging all medical supplies for the scary Dr... 4. 5 minute appointment and complete lapse of memory as to why I was even there...I bloody forgot to mention the damn ulcer and I'm going away for a month next Friday...looks like I'll have to hit a walk-in clinic, and don't even get me started about H1N1 - 3000 people in one line today, ugh Then I get a call from NS (where my Family is) and they think my Sis has the virus, waiting on test results ( What a hell of a day! I'm heading to bed! Hope you all have a fabulous Halloween! ) I tried to make it quick, sorry...just ask Meghan, this is pretty good for me! lol ;o)

sarafish81 - I'm soooo sorry to hear about your DH and your friend, it's sooooo scary. I will be taking myself and my son today, I have many friends totally AGAINST all vaccines, and I know there are risks involved, but I can't stop thinking about the people and children who have already lost their lives. It's my absolute biggest fear, especially because I have asthma and my son had some heart issues when he was born! I don't want to risk anything! There is just too much to loose, and I also get the seasonal flu shot yearly too...

Tonya!!! I love the bottom one with the white orchid as well! I'm just looking at the pic you posted so it's hard to see it, but the wording in the middle paragraph does get a little lost, but it might just be because my laptop doesn't want to cooperate and open it right now! Maybe if you can adjust it like someone said earlier - or if you can enlarge all the font to make it a little more bold and stand out more (you just wouldn't have as much space between the writing) or maybe if you can watermark the orchid, then it wouldn't be so bold! I do think they look wicked! I like a lot, but I'm biased, orchids are my FAV!

Awe Holly, scubadiva, I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out as planned (, but like everyone has said - your wedding will be absolutely beautiful no matter where you have it, and the important thing is the union not the location! Now you will truly have a relaxing AMAZING time on your honeymoon! I'm rather envious, because I know our week is going to be a Gongshow! We still want to hear about all your planning and I personally thank you for still taking care of the pashmina order considering I want in on it! Your wedding will be beautiful, now lets have a shot together, lol

Awe, Moments that Matter were booked for my day (............. envy!! I still have no idea what we're doing, I had been talking to a few girls about some "possibilities" ...and then *POOF* I've heard no more..... I'm in contact with a photog here, but it'll probably prove to be too expensive with travel expenses bla bla bla... I did send an availability request to Cancun Wedding Photography...any one know or use them...He's on this forum as a vendor....

I think it's only 24, which is way cheaper than say, Banana Republic. He's going to wear the full suit w/ tie for the ceremony and pics, then take off the jacket, tie, and roll up the sleeves for later. WOO HOO!! and you started with the kindness, Ladytrunck!!! lol I'm sure there are others sharing swatches I prob just didn't read back enough in the thread!! It can be like our very own starfish passing thread...except it's linen swatches!! lol I missed out on the Starfish passing thread, I think my date was gone! Barbo - Meghan and I are living close to each other so we'll share the time with the swatches once I get them...I'm not sure if you already pm'd Meghan (echo2_62) but just send us your mailing address and we'll forward them on to you when we're done - I don't think we'll take long we're both the impatient type when it comes to ordering stuff!! I think your wedding is in July 2010 so you'll have them in plenty of time and then you can pass them on to the next needy BDW'er!! Ladytrunck - thanks for the pay it forward! ;o) We're ordering the Aqua shirts too, can't wait! and can't beat the price! I LOVE my FI in aqua, Mmmmmmm!!haha -
Meghan - we can chat about photogs tonight!!! lol Stacey - I LOVE your dress, but that's easy to say because I LOVE lots of dresses! I say definitely think on it a few days, it is absolutely beautiful!! I love the bottom around the train! Good luck with the decision!

I live in a small town and there aren't alot of bridal places within close range so I was planning on doing a trip (4 hour drive!) with some friends in November (only time we could all work our schedules out!) to try some more dresses. In the meantime though, I've been panicking a bit about dresses and made a few phone calls to some of the bridal shops I had been to and planned on going to and they all had the same response "Get there NOW!". ACK. Really started to worry that my time to find a dress was running out! So we made an "emergency" trip back to one of the bridal shops I had already been to to see if they had any new stock in. Turns out they did and I found a dress that I've taken a liking to. I didn't have the "this is the one" feeling when I tried it on either time (I tried it twice just to be sure I did like it!) but have been thinking about it ever since and I think I've probably looked at it online about 20 times since last night! haha So my problem now is this; do I like the dress because I just actually really like it OR do I like the dress because I just want to have found one and not have to worry anymore? Should I go try more on? What should I do!?! I really like the one I tried last night but am scared I like it for the wrong reason and worry about committing to it! Thoughts? Ugh, this is a toughy, unfortunately it's just going to be a decision you're going to have to make - do you love it enough to stick with it, or are you going to wonder if there ever was that "one" dress out there? If you do go with that choice you just can't look elsewhere or at pics!! lol I've said many times before and I'm sure people will roll their eyes, I didn't get that feeling either, "the one", my dress was bought purely on budget and style for my body and the simplicity I wanted...it was a choice - but looking at all the dresses posted on this forum of course I've questioned it - it's very simple, almost plain, and elegant. But when it comes down to it, I'm going to be ecstatic on my wedding day regardless of what I'm wearing. You should post a link or a pic so that we can see it, then it might help you make up your mind, then we can all comment!! Hope your decision works out for you whatever you choose! let us know! )

Oh Michele!!! I hope the commute get a little better as time goes by - not necessarily length wise, but maybe you'll get used to it and it won't seem soooo bad? Just make sure you have your tunes blaring and use the driving time as meditation and alone time, it'll eventually not seem so bad! Just make sure to keep your eyes on the road! lol Is there anyone you could car pool with? this might make the drive more interesting! Take care! The Job will be worth it!!

I know you can usually get them at a dress store (retail in the mall) or like a boutique store, not in like the "younger" stores but the more mature stores if ya know what I mean....I used to have them but I got them in NS and I don't think that store is here...plus I can't remember the name!! lol Hope you find them!! I was also wondering, does anyone have fabric swatches that they don't need anymore and would be willing to give/sell me? I was looking at the blended linen ones, so I guess that is the set with eight colours. Please let me know!!! Hahaha, we've got that covered Meghan! I'm getting the swatches from ladytrunk and will be able to share them with you of course!!! Then we'll have to send them on to the next needy BDW'er!! I LOVE this forum! lol -

We have both been married before and feel that we just want a simple beach ceremony. Thanks! It's not rude at all!! I am the same as you, I want it simple simple simple!!! Unfortunately I'm not getting what I want, both our families are big and now it's a huge reunion to boot! You can get totally sidetracked with all the ideas on this forum but just stick to what you want! Most guests want to just enjoy their vacation the way they want and then attend your wedding, I think your plan is perfect! I am doing an itinerary but ONLY because we have our week set out for us, and because I got the idea off this forum! lol so I've included what my FI and I are planning to do on a brochure and noted that if you (guests) would like to attend you are welcome too, but if you chose not to - that's fine too! We'll see you at the ceremony! I'm not doing decor, centerpieces, flowers, anything like that. I'm doing OOT bags, and that is my Thank You for coming and spending your money! lol I might do a couple table favors, but that even might get nixed other than the stuff I've already bought. Just make sure you enjoy it and do what you want, I've read that a lot of brides said it's better not to plan too much for your guests because people might feel obligated to do everything even if they don't want to! Good luck and keep it simple - you'll enjoy yourself much more - let the resort and the surroundings speak for themselves!! There will be lots to do without planning anything! )

Nana and papa had brought a little cake to the restaurant beforehand, so we even had a wedding cake. tee hee. Then went out to a local pub we used to hang out at all the time, and had drinks with friends. I asked the band to play a Johnny Cash song for our first dance and they played 'I still miss someone', lmao. Totally inappropriate, but we got a good laugh out of it. Drank too much retsina, thinking it was just pungeant wine, and got more drunk that I think I've ever been. Had a blast nonetheless. 11 days til I fly outta here! SOOOO excited!! AWE I'm sooo happy for you that sounds amazing!! Hope you didn't have too bad of a hangover!! lol So cute that you had flowers and cake too!! SO Fun!!! Your Nana and Papa must have been so happy and proud to be a part of that special day!

And today I'm doing to do lunges and I've taken to standing on my wobble board at work and trying to do some calf raises at the same time. A little tricky when I have to type but I'm trying. Ok first off, you have a wobble board(?) at work, and you can work out at work! that's awesome! I want that job!! I will definitely send you the recipes - but I kind of just measure by sight and by our specific tastes...so if you do try the recipes just kind of go by what you know you and your FI like!! But I'll do them all up roughly and then email it to you! Do you want the spring roll recipe too!! lol Really easy and FAT FREE until you fry them!! haha ;o)

Sounds yummy even though I have no idea what a couple of those things were Hahaha, you should have! I had enough for you, your FI and all your pets!! lol (not that you feed them people food but you get the point!) Lol Chicken adobo is just chicken marinated over night in a mix of dark soy sauce, bit of vinegar, lotsa garlic & water. Pancit is rice noodles with a bit of chicken and veggies done with chicken stock and soy sauce - pretty mild, Both are Filipino staple foods!! Yummy!! Tracy - I'm not sure if there will be any coconut cream pie left by the time you get here but I'll try!! lol To keep this on the workout track - now today I have to work off those damn spring rolls I ate last night...not going to tell you how many I had...but let's just say it was pretty bad...and my house still smells like oil - I HATE that smell but I do love spring rolls, the one bad food I do indulge on, I don't eat burgers (unless fresh on the BBQ) I don't eat fries or any fast food but I can eat a few spring rolls!! In my defense (because of the guilt I feel this morning) they are really small, almost bite size for me, but I have a big mouth!! HAHA Abs and eliptical today and I think I should do some lunges for good measure, might as well suffer tomorrow for the damage I did last night!! Hope everyone else is doing good! Not sure if I posted this or not but I did try on my dress last week and is was back to being too big (not by much)!! Yay...but I am going back on vacation for a month and last time that happened I couldn't zip it up at all when I got home!! Need to practice control this time!

Ok so it doesn't look like this week is going to start off good... I've just finished cooking chicken adobo, pancit noodles, spring rolls, rice and a coconut cream pie; enough food for the 8 people who were supposed to be here at 6pm - and no one is coming!! I'm not pissed about the no shows, I'm pissed that I know have all this food and I'm going to have to eat it!! Even my FI is at work unexpectedly! I think I'll eat this whole pie to myself!! (
