  1. Tracy - I agree with Meghan! Meghan - we can share on shipping costs!! lol
  2. Stress, I'm dreaming about this forum at night!! lol Wondering if there's anything I missed!! Tracy & Meghan: If you guys figure out what you're doing for flowers let me know...I can't decide either! Tracy I'm with you on the cost...the fake one's are pretty expensive and pretty much equal in cost to the Resorts fresh flowers. Real Touch are not at the Michael's here in Calgary either. I have a ton of flowers to do...well nothing elaborate but 14 boutonnieres and 8 flowers for women (corsages?) and 5 bridesmaid bouquets - I swear I might as well outfit the entire resort with flowers!!! lol If you Canadian gals find some nice real looking flowers for a good deal - like CHEAP!! lol Let me know and I'll forward you any info I find!!
  3. Congratulations!!! and welcome to this wonderful world of info!
  4. It's absolutely gorgeous and looks fabulous on you!! Congrats for finding the perfect gown! )

We require a minimum of 40 people. You are allowed to bring your own music CD’s. We are having it from 6 -10. Maybe they changed things im not sure but thats what we booked. So you have to pay $85 USD per person for 40 people minimum + $2000 for the package? - or do they give you a package deal because of the separate beach party...also they have conveniently taken the DJ services out of the beach party pricing...which sucks - but you should still get it because it was the option at the time you booked - so fight for it if you have to! They've also added a Thai beach club party which starts at $100 USD per person... I still haven't decided... Congrats by the way, your day is coming very soon!!! You must be sooooo excited - are you all ready? ) I can't wait to hear your review! maybe you'll sway me the way for a beach party!!

I was thinking the clip too, and they are cheap, I found them on ebay...I think the bracelet will be a little bulky, and the clips are pretty sturdy once clipped on clothes so I think they'll work great - they'll just remind me of another day at the office!! I'm also considering the retractable clip reel (with the string that you can pull out and then it retracts back in) Not sure if I want to pay the extra... If you want the seller I'm watching on ebay just let me know!
  7. LOVE the bags!!! Are they gone? and if so where are they from...I need a lot more than 14.....

My mentality is: hopefully the drinks won't last long enough!! Plus with our group I'm sure they will be forgotten and lost throughout the week... They do have steel thermal mugs at Dollarama as well, but I think only the outside is steel - inside is probably plastic as well...I didn't look in them. Break down the cost as a total to your FI, maybe then he'll change his mind ) We are doing the dollarama one's for over 40 guests, and then the bridal party, groomsmen and myself and my FI are getting a little spoiled with Bubba Kegs so I'll need 12 of those when they go on sale again...if they do! Good luck Tam! I hope you find what you need )
  9. GREAT SITE Tracy!! Thanks for that, if I end up not finding the fabric I want to make mine, or the price I'm willing to pay - I will definitely be using that site, really good prices...' Thanks for the info!

I'm not sure if you found anything yet, but if you're looking for really really cheap then hit up a local Dollarama, there must be one in TO... $1.25 and you can personalize it by printing the guests name on a paper insert or decorate it with your wedding date and colors!! Good luck!! )
  12. Tracy & echo (Meghan I think) : You both are my OOT inspiration, I didn't even know what the abbreviation was!! I have consumed myself and began my purchasing...probably too much as everyone else - but I'm a planner...like I said they won't be extravagant, but they'll hopefully hit it off with the guests... Is it tacky to only do Bubba kegs for our Bridal party and ourselves of course? There is just sooooo much I want to put in and the cost is creeping up very quickly for 50 guests. The other travel mugs I purchased are from Dollarama, $1.25 each and they can be personalized by unscrewing the outside and printing whatever you want...so I think I'll put guests names on all the mugs so no one gets mixed up! They won't keep the beverages cold like the Bubba's but hopefully drinks won't be in them long enough!! lol I also got the first aid kits and hand sanitizer, I'm going to do the cheapy print outs of puzzle books and Spanish phrases....a few other toiletries, drink umbrellas of course ).... I can't find bags I like or want to afford so I think I'm going to make them, I'll hit the fabric stores this week...end of summer sales should be on now! I really hope no more than 50 decide to come!! lol The good thing about finding out about the world of OOT now is the fact that I can spread the cost out gradually!! But I HAVE to stop surfing this forum and wanting everything!! Thanks Gals and chat to you soon!
  13. Hahahaha Thanks Tracy! At least now I have a lot of really great options, I was kind of struggling before, but there are so many choices I didn't even know about!.... I really like what you selected! It's going to sound great!
  14. Ok people can criticize me if they want to!! lol But I opted for ultimate cheese: Ronan Keating - This I promise you BUT...and there's a big BUT!! I'm having it re-recorded professionally, stripped down, slowed and raw - Just a guitar and a more, how shall we say this - gritty harder singer? I hope it works out - it's a total surprise!! I'm actually surprised not one person has even mentioned it, is it just because I'm the only loser that remotely sees potential in it? But remember I'm having it changed... If it doesn't work the way I envisioned it in my head at least I definitely have GREAT ideas from all of these posts!! Thanks Gals!
  15. Boo Hoo, I missed the sale...and can't find any at Walmart in Canada either...
  16. Have you checked a fabric store? I know that end of season sales would be going on right now and you could for sure find fabric similar to this, I've even seen these colors in outdoor fabric which would be nice and durable...then you'd just need to buy rope to make the handles - which you can probably get at a craft store. They are pretty easy to make...just a hem at the top and 3 sides to sew... I think this is what I'm going to do because I can't find any bags I like, or they are too expensive and so I'm going to make them - then I can custom size them to fit all the goodies I'm putting in! Just an option, hope this helps!
  17. You're dress is absolutely beautiful, I love the glass beads! The shape is beautiful, and I love Maggie's fit, it always fits like a glove! Really nice to have an "in the family" seamstress as well!! lol My dress fits me perfectly right now, I'm hoping it'll be too big by April lol So far I only have to add a bustle, which I can do myself...if the bodice needs altering I may have to secure outside help!
  18. Meghan, fellow Calgarian Bride!! Woo Hoo! That sounds great, I would love to take a look at the links. I know I want to do something resembling OOT bags but they probably won't be extremely elaborate - But if it's a smokin' deal you never know!! lol Definitely send any info you have and I'll take a look, let me know what you're looking to order in bulk! I am soooo excited! 50 peeps is exciting and terrifying!! lol I just want everyone to have a wonderful time, but I also don't want to feel like I have to entertain everyone the whole time! lol We have a big group excursion booked, but other than that I left most of the time freed up so people can enjoy themselves and do whatever they want...We have 26 booked so far from Canada, but have tons more coming from all over the world - it's going to be a pretty cool reunion too! ebredhawk - thanks for the tips as well, I love a good bargain so I'll definitely be checking out the $1 & $2 ideas...I know I cruised that thread for a little while and copied the master list they have posted, then got pretty overwhelmed when I started crunching numbers on 50 guests...I just can't think about it!! There is so much I want to do!! Not to mention like I mentioned above, we have guests flying in from all over the world so I could make our Calgary peeps travel with some things but that's only a total of 10 people...I may have to ship the lightest stuff )

  20. Oh Thank You Tracy!! You are great! Now comes the fun part - Shopping!! BTW, love your centerpieces, the flowers are sooo vibrant - Beautiful colors~ I think I'll forget about the centerpieces...go with the OOT bags! lol 50 is pretty crazy - I never thought this many would actually show!! lol We invited 100, so 50% isn't that bad. But when we first started planning we were going for small and intimate, but when we found out how many people will actually front the cost to come we had to book a larger resort. Lets just say it's going to be a minimal oot bag...like budget friendly, and probably not the bubba kegs unless I get them at a ridiculously low price! Maybe I'll just do the Bubba's for all the wedding party... ;o) Too bad dollarama isn't actually a dollar store anymore! lol Drives me nuts that it's $1, $2, $3 and more! I'll figure it out! Thank you so much for your help, Chat soon )

Have you ever gone to an all inclusive before? when your at the pool or beach during the day you go for a drink, they give you this little plastic cup, you take a sip and you need another refill. Well most of us are putting Travel mugs in each bag (the bag is also good for the guest to put their towel and other things they need during the day) lip balm with spf, things you might have forgotten to pack your first trip but things you needed, like aleo. deck of cards. You do not need to add oot bags. but you could also put a welcome letter in there. If you plann on having a few things for the guest to do before the wedding, like maybe a welcome cocktail, you could have a list. A list off al the guest and their room # so everyone knows where everyone is. List goes on and on. We are all here to help! Ok so really silly question: Do you make OOT bags per person or per couple, and then individual bags for the attending singles? Is this a tacky idea? Like for instance 1 bag with 2 travel mugs, bla bla bla... We have almost 50 guests coming, so I'm really freaking out about this now...I want to do them but just seems like a lot of extra packing...and expense! Thanks again for all your help!!
  22. Good idea echo 2 62, We were going to do it before...but why not after? Well we had almost decided just to pay the extra fees and have it legalized in Mexico and all over...but now that I've found this forum and everything I can do I may want to save some bucks and just do it here in Calgary ) thanks for the great ideas! Too many ideas not enough waking hours in the day to get through them!

How do I justify the photos cost more than the dinner!!! Hey there, Try Claudia Rodriguez Photography, packages start at $1500 usd which includes some prints and 3 hours coverage...+ fine art magazine album another $250 USD I did not anticipate the high cost either, I'm still struggling with this one! She personally is booked elsewhere for our wedding day, and another member of her team we wanted is Citlalli Rico, who is also booked elsewhere. As of right now we haven't booked anything and not sure what to do! She has a whole team but they were our favs...http://www.claudiaphoto.com/ Good luck and I hope this helped, another good one is Elizabeth Medina...who is also booked for our day...Elizabeth Medina Photography, Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer, Wedding Photojournalism throughout the Riviera Maya, Yucatan and Mexico I've read a lot of chatter about people sharing costs of a photographer but haven't figured out if it's actually happened or worked in favor for brides? Again - Good luck, we're still searching too!
  24. OOT, so funny, it all makes sense now! I may have to add them, I was planning on doing something like that just didn't know the formal term...but the travel mugs! good idea, thanks for that - we've never been to an all inclusive. Wholly crap, I guess I better get pricing things... How does everyone expect to bring everything with them? Canadian Luggage allowance is pretty strict...we're flying Air Canada which isn't too too bad but still....I'll need separate luggage for all the party favors...and what about all this chatter about centerpieces? I'm not even going there...I get carried away way too easily! lol Addicted and over budget already!
