OMG!!! Jennybell!!! I have so much to say! Logan is a very special LOVED little boy 4 times over , and it brought a tears to my eyes about the whole "will you be my Daddy" to Riley. FI and I have had many conversations about "What if's" ugh, so much to say - but my little guy just woke up so I will be back after supper!! lol BTW love the name Logan, not to mention I'm a HUGE geek and love Wolverine...and for those of you who do not know what I'm talking about you'll have to google it! OK Ladies, I've searched and searched this forum and can't find much about any Brides 2 be with babies - I know there must be some out there other than myself! There's a thread for "Mommie's-2-be", but what about "Mommie's-already-Be" So if this exists; I do apologize to the great Mod's in the sky!! ;o) As unconventional as it may sound to some, there are women, ie: me, who have had babies pre-marriage! I think we need a thread for ourselves to vent, swap baby stories, swap fears and everything else that goes with being a Parent and up-coming Bride-2-Be!! Whether you have had kids from a previous relationship/marriage or if it's from your FI/future DH I think it'd be fun to shoot the sh!t with some gals going through the same thing as me!! Our "edited due to size" Background: We have been together 8 years and have always known we wanted marriage and children...life circumstances have prevented the marriage and children for most of those years. My FI is my absolute everything, my best friend, my confidant and the person who can razz me and get me worked up in 2 seconds flat!! lol Our child is the miracle we thought we'd never be blessed with - he is our universe. I fall in love with the both of them day after day! When we first found out we were pregger's, FI took it way better than me! I freaked - we had just picked up our lives, quit our jobs and moved across country to start fresh...and we came pregnant!! Now I'm a little OCD and I need to plan and organize everything and I wasn't expecting this, not before we had our mattress delivered and a living room sofa!! We adapted pretty quickly and couldn't wait to meet him in person!! We're both like kids when it comes to presents and surprises so we did find out the sex, but from the start I called "him" a Boy!! I had a pretty rough pregnancy, I was high risk due to previous problems, was sick for 5 1/2 months straight, put off work almost 2 months early due to blood pressure and the baby having an irregular heartbeat. I won't go into too much detail - but for any of you who want to know the REAL story on childbirth, not the 1940's version, come to me!! lol Our baby boy: Martez, born June 7, 2008 weighing 9 lbs 3 ounces. There is lots more to OUR story but I'll leave that to later if anyone decides to post on this thread!! lol

I think I'm going to start pre-warning my Calgary peeps to prepare for extra bags - good thing about flying with Air Canada is that each person gets 2 checked bags and 1 carry-on so I should be able to spread out all the extra crap...crossing my fingers and toes!! I think we're going to get our rings at Christmas...that's my plan!! lol Christmas will be pretty low key this year considering I'm going away for a month and then the wedding is speedily approaching!! SO we'll have fun with baby toys but for us it'll be all wedding shopping!! lol As far as MY wedding band goes - that's a mess...lol We picked and purchased an e-ring (remember this has been 8 years and a baby in the making so there wasn't much room for the element of surprise )...and now want to change it! I found a band I LOVE and it doesn't go with my e-ring so now we're looking into changing my e-ring too...might not happen but we're both a little miffed that we didn't research a little more on rings!! lol I had no real idea about jewelry so I hope this doesn't sound bad or materialistic because if anyone knew me personally I am Definitely not materialistic!! We just both had no idea what we were doing when he bought it so let's call it really uneducated!! CORN MAZE!!! I'm soooo excited although I haven't been there so I can't vouch for it myself! http://www.calgarycornmaze.com/index.html Looks like K9's are welcome Monday through Thursday for a treat and to run the maze - which would be really cool!! Other activities include the petting zoo, pedal kart track, pig races, cow train rides, rubber duck races, corn cannons (which can shoot cobs of corn over 1000 feet), mini mazes, playground activities, and the pumpkin patch. FUN FUN~~ This year the maze is a T-Rex and our whole family including the baby are huge dinosaur buffs so we can't wait - although unless we're in a plane we'll have no idea we're walking in a T-rex design! lol We're going to pick a pumpkin when we're there too!! Bad new though unless you're planning on bringing your pups tonight - it'd the last weekend for the maze and that means tonight is the last night to bring K9's - sorry I didn't mention it earlier (

I wish I had more people flying out of Calgary with us, but unfortunately most of our guest will be coming from different gateways throughout Canada and the rest of the world!! So this is my tentative plan: (because I have no idea if it's going to work...but in my head it will!!) I'm not doing a private welcome dinner or rehearsal dinner - as of yet I have nothing planned, so I think I will get everyone together for an impromptu meet and greet for drinks, I'll have to do a little research on what the best area of the resort is to do this (like a lounge area or something)and then we'll just say a little Thank You and pass out the bags or something like that. I'm going to try and do it the first night everyone is there... Like I said I have no idea if this is going to work!! lol But this is my plan!! And there is no way I'm going to pay for another private dinner so this seems to be the best compromise...and I don't think everyone will fit in our room but if you're only having a small # of guests you could have a little party in your room? I wish most people were flying out of our gateway so I could pass them out earlier, but I'm going to try and pawn off as much extra packing as I can on the peeps that are in Calgary!

That's hilarious! My FI is really pretty good about listening to me babble on about wedding crap, he's a good man... He just can't wait to get to Mexico and drank some tequila and chill out with all our friends and fam!! I can't wait either...and by the amount of snow we have on the ground I wish it was a little sooner than 6 months...but then I think of what I look like in a bathing suit and think...no, I can wait the 6 months!! lol But good news for Calgary - Saturday is supposed to be a high of 12 degrees Celsius!!!
