Good luck!

Did you laminate the paper? Did it still look nice? I'd like to get personalized cups or mugs, but since I only need about 15 - 20, its just not cost effective to get them printed. And I really want our full-colour logo on them, so I was thinking about these paper insert types. But I also don't want them to get destroyed by water or liquid or anything. Plus with these, if people really HATE the design, they can just change it up. Thanks!! I have the paper insert cups - 50 of them...I'm still undecided if I'm using them but I did test one, now again I have 50 so I am expecting a few duds, lol The one I tested seemed to hold up pretty well, but I'm skeptical - they are from Dollarama! So here's my plan: I'm going to do my design as per the little paper template that comes with the mug, and I'm going to laminate them just to make sure they last at least a week - I'm personalizing them with my logo and each individual guests names so they won't mistake their own, I'm also going to have a saying, something like "Fill 'er up" or whatever will translate closely in all the languages of all our guests attending, I'll probably just do different color bubbles and have a different language saying in each bubble. That should fill up the rest of the cup space. I didn't want to spend a lot on mugs #1 because I need 50 and #2 because I'm assuming with alcohol involved there is bound to be some lost or smashed mugs - our group can be a little rowdy!! At least this way I know I don't have a lot of $$ invested and I don't care what happens to them. What you can also do is buy whatever type of cup you want, doesn't have to be the paper insert, and then print your logo on the clear label sheets then cut it out and apply it to your mug, there is a Gal on this forum that has done this and I think she has a thread about it in the DIY section - they looked really good - there may be a little preparation to make them water resistant, I can't remember! She personalized them with individual names as well, and she has all the instructions and what worked and what didn't so I'd definitely check out her thread....If I find it again I'll let you know where it is! Good luck and let me know what you decide to do!! If I get one of mine done I'll upload a pic!! )
  3. I wouldn't tip, it's a service your paying for. I don't tip the dealership when I get my car serviced so I wouldn't tip my seamstress when I get my dress serviced! lol

I've never actually had a dress made, so I don't know anything about that. Suzy-I checked out that website some, but I'm going to look into it more and see if it's at all reputable. I wouldn't mind buying a dress from a company like that as long as the dress looked decent. I'm going to check out the thread you mentioned. Thanks for everyone's help! No Prob, and good luck, I really hope you find what you're looking for - I've been finding lots I'm looking for but I already have my dress!! lol I've gotta stop reading the "Show me your dress!" thread!! Like I said that may be a website that sells the discounted originals BUT they could be knock offs too! Hope it works out, I know there are lot's of pics on the knock off thread of dresses girls ordered and they looked to be really good quality - definitely worth checking out and then you can actually chat with people who have dealt with the companies!
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That's awesome!

Things i've realized I'm behind...1) bridesmaids dresses - anyone know how long it takes to get them in? 2)i ordered my wedding dress back in may. i was told it be in in september and i still haven't heard anything. should i be worried? have most of you seen your actual dresses? this is my 150th post! can't wait to go check out all the attachments Hey Sarah! Your not behind!! because if you are then that means I am too!! lol I don't have BM's dresses yet, found some online, but they are my fallback - so if I don't find anything else I know I can order those! I'd call about your wedding dress...not that you don't have lot's of time, but at least if there was a problem you can deal with it right away and not leave it too close to your date. I bought mine off the rack so it's hanging in the closet just waiting patiently to see the sun!! I'm not doing centerpieces at all!! lol I'm going to do a few table favors and OOT bags and that's it, possibly hand fans for the ceremony but I'm still undecided. There will be enough luggage to haul with the addition of all the OOT bag stuff so I can't even imagine doing centerpieces or any other decor...I'm still debating real touch flowers - so that's even more luggage!! Oh I don't even want to think about it~ I am behind!! lol Congrats on the 150 mark!! I was so excited when I reached that point!

I saw on here before something about a wedding packet that gets mailed to you from ROR and I haven't gotten one yet. Did anyone else get one? And also, if I am planning on using the photographer from ROR do I have to call to book him? Is it somewhere in that packet? I have no idea what I am doing! Please help!! Congrats and Welcome to the April 2010 Group!! As far as finding specific info about your resort there is probably a Riu Ochos Rios/ROR Thread - I think that's the resort you're talking about! I am assuming that you have to book the photographer, so I would do it asap if you can. Is there any way you can email the WC for photog info or to try to reserve photo services? Good luck and I hope you get your package soon! )

You can make them any size you want which is neat. Now I have to think of what to print on these luggage tags as I can't amke a logo. Wish me luck Are you filling out all your guests info before you laminate? Because like Meyer2010 said: if you seal them no one can fill out their own info! But if you have all the address' anyway it will be really nice to fill that all out for them and then seal it!! FYI, you can get the pouch luggage tags with the plastic/rubber clear ties in a kit at walmart in the Stationary/office supply section!! ) Good luck with everything!

  11. Tracy - I think the dress looks great on you but if you feel that "They" look fake then definitely take the bra out to make you more comfortable - They do look perky! and perky isn't always a bad thing!! lol It's just whatever makes you comfortable! Sucks with endometriosis, I don't have it, but I do know a lot of women that do have it - and I'm glad I don't!! That time is terrible enough without adding that syndrome on top of it! Hope you feel better soon! And I love your party/tdd dress, it's really pretty!
  12. Check out this site, I have no idea about it but it came up as soon as I googled it, it may be a knock off site so you'll have to do your research! Buyer100 :: Wedding Dresses :: Mikaella :: Mikaella Wedding Dress Style 1406 Did you try checking around for an "Off the Rack" sale - you can usually save a bunch, that's what I did! Plus there is a thread you should check out about Knock offs or lookalikes, could be a touchy subject, so it's not like I'm condoning it or anything but there is a lot of info on that thread if you want to check it out - should come up in a search. There are a few brides who have ordered their dresses from a company, I think in China, and they all seem to be really really happy with the quality and the prices are like $100 to $400 or so depending on fabric and style etc... Good luck I hope you come up with someway to get your dream dress!! )
  13. OMG doesn't lipo take a huge amount of time to heal? and you don't even see the true results for after a year?? I have slacked this past week - but to my defense I've been sick and delirious, as well as the rest of the family!! So I've had minimal energy but still eating well, a little too well!!...I did try on my dress and could zip it up no problem! With room to spare!! YAY!! I could even spin it around to clip the little zipper hook thingy!! But...my back and arms are what I really need to tone for my dress and my butt and thighs are what I really need to tone for my Bikini...if I make into one!! I've been doing lunges and leg lifts but the process is sooooooo slow, I hope my metabolism kicks in soon and things start melting - Wish it was as easy as when I was 20 ) Jerseykitten - Let us know your decision once you talk to your weight Dr, I'll be interested in what you decide to do!!!
  14. Scubadiva: I'm still in for sure, just trying to figure out quantity and color, my luggage is getting smaller by the minute!! lol btw, LOVE the new siggy pic!! Very nice, and cute with bubbles!
  15. We're not doing a site visit either, but we have had relatives who have stayed at our resort in the past - and my TA is doing a site visit in Nov, so that will help ease our minds.
  16. I don't think it's the same bug, but yes I think we definitely pass things back and forth!!! It's inevitable! especially when the baby is sick it's impossible to stay away from him!! lol I think he just has a cold, and I am coughing with a sore throat...and FI just told me on the phone that his throat is really sore too! Ugh.....2 sick boys, that is not in anyway fun, big sooks!! I already sent you my addy, it's way easier to chat that way! lol Australia might add a little bit to shipping! lol

Awe I swear to God I made that up in my own head!!! and here I thought I was so smart!! lol I'll say they stole my line because I don't even watch the show!! Oh well!

By the way, no matter when you send out your invites, there will always be people that do not respect your RSVP date. I still think they look great… you had to put some effort into finding the design and ordering them right? Gotta give yourself the credit you deserve (lol). I totally agree! The “destination†type wedding dresses I tried on did not hold me in enough. They hugged all of my lumps and bumps (in all the wrong places). So, I went with a more formal design. Another thing… I always heard that when you find “the dressâ€, you will KNOW it. Well, I didn’t get that feeling. It was more of a process of elimination for me. When I thought I had it narrowed down to “the dressâ€, I went to the bridal shop to try on a few other dresses to make sure. I tried on the other dresses first, then “the dress†last. The dress I chose was the one that I thought would look best on me and best in pictures, but I did not have that overwhelming feeling like it was the dress I had to have. I’ve talked to a few other brides who felt the same way. Has anyone else on this thread felt that way? I LOVE my dress, but I am another who didn't get that "the one" feeling - but I also didn't let myself get caught up in it either! I had a budget and a vision: my budget was CHEAP and my vision was SKINNY, I achieved the cheap, lol. It's a decision, I could try on hundreds but there are still thousands more that I haven't tried on - when do you stop? My dress is flattering for my body style, so I guess I achieved the best one for me too!! Here's my philosophy which I've posted before: "Dresses are like men: there are many styles, shapes and colors but you just have to believe in your choice and stick with it..." ;o) There are tons of fancy beautiful gowns that I know if I would have tried them on I would have LOVED them, but I wanted simple and affordable and I just have to stick to the plan! And, I think I'll go and try mine on just to reconfirm that thought!

Can you believe that me and a friend were actually going to place an order and have it delivered to my Brother's place in the US, for me to pick up when I'm there!! Glad we didn't put in that order yet!! lol Do you have my email? I've been throwing it around to so many people I can't even keep track!! If you end up keeping them no prob - just now you have a backup!! Do you think we should tell our FI's about us, lol - I think if they figure out everything we've been planning we may not be able to cyberchat anymore! lol "Everything was on sale Honey, I swear!...oh I but I lost that receipt!!" jk, ;o) Or even better: "didn't you know that retail stores don't issue receipts anymore - it's bad for the environment"

You free for coffee?? lol I'm sooooo excited!
  21. I'm a sick Mommy with an even more sick baby!!! Sucks, I'd so rather change a poopy diaper than constantly chase after a 16 month old touching everything constantly with the snottiest nose I've ever encountered!! I swear, I have to disinfect everything in the house once an hour!! lol All I want to do is sleep.....
  22. I can't wait to see all your pics!!! Exciting!! Plus I can't wait to get all the info and scoop about the wedding details and crap!! lol My TA did call me today and she's doing a tour of GSP, probably while you guys are getting married, so she's going to get a ton of info for me too, sooo exciting!

You don't have to make a special trip or anything but if you happen to swing by ;o) I've got a pretty sick baby on my hands so getting out at all is going to be a challenge, gotta wait for FI to get home from work and need to pick up a few things at the grocery store but I think that'll be my only outing for today. They should be at the front by the cash...that's where they were here by me, and I think I'll need 8 pkgs of 4 @ $2.49 each - I'm only doing one per bag, not two, I figured both prob won't use it, and if you sleep together, well....lol Is that bad? 1 per bag? I can come pick them up!! I really wanted to visit the new mall anyway!! lol Like I said, no big rush, but if you do find them over the next few weeks or whatever I'll just paypal you the $$ or pick them up, whatever is easiest!! Thanks again for the offer!! ) We should chat about bags!! lol Oh and I pack EVERYTHING liquid in ziplocks too!! I did have a lotion bottle leak in my checked luggage before!! MESS!! I don't risk it, everything is wrapped and sealed good!

I know I'd asked if you had looked here already but I wasn't sure if there were any you liked that we could do a big order on together as well. But if you happen to find a good deal while you're in the States and want to hook me up then I'd love you forever!! HAhaha! I should seriously start taking advantage of of US friends at this point. I'm definitely considering that for my mugs now. And you know what the funny thing about the centre pieces is... I'd been going a totally different route for them (ordered some white paper lanterns already!!) and then saw that picture and totally fell in love with that idea instead!! So yay! I'll check Elmhirst out again, funny though I had found a couple bags on another website and thought of you!! lol Wondered to myself, "Would Meghan like those?" I swear all this wedding crap is making me KooKoo!! Oh it was the site you were thinking about getting your mugs from, but I'm assuming this is most likely the site that we'd get dinged extra from! Too bad, they have good product! I will definitely keep you in mind in the States, I'll message you if I find a good deal! As far as bags go - are you thinking a specific style or color? I know I don't want mine to look like a shopping tote...but when it comes down to $$ my mind can usually change!! lol Paper lanterns?? Hmmmmm, If you want them off your hands I may know someone willing to buy them ;o)
