  1. We got married while in port (Carnival Destiny) in Cozumel at Nachi Cocom Beach Club. Ana Ortiz from Magic Memories Weddings was our wedding coordinator. It was amazing, perfect weather, everyone had a great time!
  2. Hi Mish- Sorry to hear about your itinerary change! Hopefully everything will work out and you can move it all to the next day. So you booked the wedding through Celebrity then? They should be pretty accommodating if you have at least. Big downside to a cruise wedding, things can change without your control, but you have to just adjust and move on. Things are going well with our changes, we booked our wedding at Nachi Cocom in Cozumel, so hopefully Carnival won't change anything else! I think Cozumel will be even better than our original plans in Key West, so it all worked out.... well, I guess we'll see in 2 weeks. We didn't book through Carnival since we didn't like the packages they had, so we're taking another chance with them changing the itinerary and us not having a place to get married, but I'm crossing my fingers. Good luck with the rest of your planning! -Allie
  3. So we just passed the 3 month mark to our wedding, we were getting close to paying our final deposit for our wedding while at port in Key West, when my mom noticed on Carnival that the itinerary had changed, and we are no longer going to Key West! There are powerboat races that day, which we knew about for almost a year, but all of a sudden Carnival decided they would no longer stop there due to the races, so our only stop is Cozumel. I just can't believe we have to start all over with the planning process for the wedding with this short amount of time. I'm sure there's plenty of nice placs in Cozumel, I just really liked our location at Key West. If anyone has suggestions for Cozumel locations while at port, please let me know! Luckily we have a good travel agent, so I'm sure she'll have some good ideas on what to do.
  4. Many designers offer a petite size for the dress. I'm 5'3 but they hadn't told me if my dress was available in petite or not, so make sure you ask to cut cost for alterations!
  5. I was deciding between the Hyatt and Ocean Key Resort. We're getting married while sailing on Carnival Destiny in November. We decied on Ocean Key because it's a little closer for guests to walk to the ceremony. Plus we decided not to book anything through the cruise to cut the cost. Are you doing the reception outside? The Hyatt is great because the wedding planners are provided, I don't have that at Ocean Key! I have some info on transportation and other things if you have any questions.
  6. I suggest finding a good travel agent either through here or destinationweddings.com to book the cruise, it makes it much easier for guests to book. I'm doing a cruise wedding in November with Carnival Destiny. Good luck with your search!
  7. I'm doing someething very similar with my Mikaella dress (http://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/Uplo...201024x768.jpg) except I didn't order mine with the added material or lessened deep neckline. It has a pretty low sweetheart neckline, so they are going to add material once I get it altered so it's not as revealing.
  8. Hey roxyqt, we're getting married at the Ocean Key Resort in Key West. We're doing a brunch since the cruise is only there until 2 pm. Where are you getting married?
  9. Yeah sjmacphe, ours look so similar! I agree, the pictures just aren't the same as in person. I love your dress Cindy, that was one of my favorites when I first saw Mikaella online.
  10. This is my dress, #1239. I ordered it in January, hoping it comes in the next couple months. Mikaella Wedding Dresses - Wedding Dress Style 1239 | Brides.com
  11. I booked James Wist in Key West also. His website was really professional and he was very prompt so far with emails.
  12. Getting married November 12, 2010 in Key West!
  13. Congrats! Welcome to the forum!
  14. Congrats and happy planning!
  15. Congrats and welcome! We're getting married at Ocean Key Resort next November. We liked the pier location, and the Hyatt has that also. Look at Southernmost Hotel too, they have a whole ceremony and reception set up on the beach.
  16. Congrats and welcome! I'm getting married in Key West next November while on a cruise, so I have a good amount of info on some places. We picked Ocean Key Resort because they gave us a great deal and the location is great! PM if you have any questions! Southernmost is supposed to be really nice too. Good luck!
  17. Also, another important thing to research is the deposit schedule for each cruiseline. I originally wanted to do RC, but was told they require a much larger initial deposit within the first 30 days. Also, Norwegian required more up front also (I was told most of the money was due within the first 30 days, but not sure since my TA was partial to Carnival). Just plan as much as you can up front because once you decide on which cruise line, the clock starts ticking in terms of your guests booking with their initial deposit. Carnival requires $25 within the first 30 days, so it was easier for the amount of guests we had. Another thing I learned about was different requirements for a marriage license depending on where you want to get married off the boat. Bahamas requires you to be in their waters for 24 hours before getting the license, so make sure you ask about that. We're doing the legal stuff before the cruise to eliminate that stress.

    Hello!!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You'll find all sorts of helpful info on here!
  19. Congrats and welcome! Hawaii sounds amazing!!!
  20. I've given up on having my hair done on the cruise salon since they don't allow you to book your appointment until you get on the ship, also they don't open until 8 am, so that won't work for our morning wedding. I guess it depends on when your wedding is, but I don't think you'll have a problem with an early appointment and maybe doing a trial run the day before. I found info about the hair salon on the Carnival blogs: Cruise Ship Reviews, Tips, Forums & Planning You can get some hair opinions on the stylist on there.
