Hi lberostar Brides, I'm actually a May 2011 bride but I was hoping since most of you are getting married this year you would have this info already. I'm looking for pics of the private reception areas. Reyna sent me one picture but it was very dark, plus im hoping there are other options than just one restaurant. maybe a patio or poolside. i've tried to search the forum but im not finding any pics. and i've read that theres a chapel or gazebo near the shopping center and one above the wave pool - does anyone have pics of this too? HI everyone! I'm getting married in April 2011 (it seems so far from now!) and i've been researching resorts for months now! i think i've read all the wedding reviews on this site. With a bit of a push from my family, always asking me where the wedding is going to be, I finally narrowed it down to a region...Riviera Maya and after reading your review Sandra I've decided on the Barcelo! It looks like a great resort and I havent read any complaints about it yet. the WC's seem really great too...from the reviews. I've looked at alot of pics posted in this thread but i'm wondering if anyone has any pics from the WC's themselves. Maybe pics of the ceremony and reception options? i cant remember the resort but one of them had a picassa album set up with the different options...wondering if any thing like this exists for Barcelo. I'm really interested in a poolside reception like yours, it sounds beautiful. Did the wedding coordinator ever send you any pics for ceremony and reception sites...if so could you post them? almost all of our family and friends are excited about the DW. mostly everyone is looking at it like a vacation and a wedding. which is the way you hope people react to the idea. BUT of course there's always someone who thinks they need to tell you how they feel even though you did not ask for their negative feedback. My aunt was that person. After telling my family, we were all together at dinner, that our plan was to have a DW my aunt decided to go into a 5 minute rant about why she doesnt fly and that she thinks people who have DW's should pay for it - meaning pay for everyone that goes. after hearing that and knowing that she is definitly not going to come, i'm not even sending her an invite. and since my aunt loves to keep putting her foot in her mouth i just know thanksgiving dinner this year will be very interesting!

thanks for great review! I'm really new to all this planning, I've contacted the Melia for their price lists, etc. but haven't received at response yet. I know thats a general issue with the resorts so not an issue really. you said you had a room upgrade? is it because you had so many rooms booked under your party? and you bought your own alcohol, i didnt even know that was an option. Did you just go to a store while you were down there? sorry for all the questions. Thanks!

I've noticed some posts that imply PF is a bit pricey and like most DW brides i'm trying to find the best resort for my guest but also a resort that falls into everyones budget. its so hard to decide. Hi Ladies! I don't have a resort or date picked yet but I do know it will be a 2011 wedding. I'm thinking sometime between Feb -April and mexico (riveria maya??) or DR (punta cana?). Theres so much info in this forum and i've read some wedding reviews...but i'm feeling overwhelmed right now and I'm just bad at making decisions. lol. Good luck to everyone and happy planning!
