Where did you go to get yours made?

  4. If you can't seem to find any way of hiring a cheaper photographer maybe you can reason with your FI and cut back on some other aspects of the wedding that may not be as important to you.
  5. Since it hasn't been used yet I'm sure you wouldn't have any troubles selling it, that is if you can't return it.

    playa!

Congrats and welcome! There is SO much info here on your destination! I would suggest doing a specific search to get you started.

Congrats! As soon as you think you know where to begin planning, I can guarantee there's a thread about it!
  8. Congrats! Welcome aboard!

I thought they were boobs too, but then was thrown off by the band aid and the syringe...wow! I got it now!
  10. I think that is a great idea, to look at someone's post number before buying from them. Kinda gives them a bit more "street cred"!

I have heard that before as well, that the church on 5th is not great at getting right back to people. I can absolutely see this happening since they are a church, not a wedding coordinator, and they're probably not 100% focused on jumping at the beck and call of a bunch of Destination Brides! It was mainly because of this reason I have decided to go with Ajua Wedding Planners. They work with that church all the time and do all the running to and from the church for you. I pictured this (communication/planning with the church) as being my biggest stressor for the next year and a half, so decided to get helped lined up before it got to that point.

You could also take it to any tailor. Some bridal seamstresses tend to be more expensive if you didn't buy the dress there. If you take it to any ol' tailor, however, I would ask them first if they have ever altered a dress like yours (ie- beaded, rouched, etc) This is where it might be worth the extra money to have a bridal seamstress do the job since they are used to working with fine fabrics and beading.

  14. Awwww! Thank you! You're a sweetheart! I got it from a seller on Ebay for $160. Since it was kind of a blind trial run for me I'm not looking to make any money on it, just trying to get my money back so I can start looking for another one! : )
  15. I think I'm going to go with them. I have my quote from them and considering the type of wedding I want and the location I think that they will do the best job. Have you heard anything back from them yet?
  16. Chiffon Wedding Gown pictures by raychelrae_photos - Photobucket Ok, here was my shot at getting a knock-off. I finally got it and it is a beautiful dress! It's even very well made! I just do not like how it looks on my body type. I ordered it thinking it could be a TTD if anything. Not a bad dress, just not for me. SOOOO if anyone likes it I have a post in the "Sell, Trade, Freebie" category with this on there
  17. Chiffon Wedding Gown pictures by raychelrae_photos - Photobucket I ordered this dress from China, thinking it could possibly be a TTD. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I figured what the heck! It turned out great and it is very well made, however I just don't like how the style looks on my body type. It is a size 10, however with the corset back I am certain will fit a size 8 or 12. I gave the measurements of 37-30-40, however the hip measurement doesn't even matter since the dress has a flowing skirt, and the other two measurements have at least an inch give either way. It is plenty long as I am 6'0" and it hits the ground on me. I am asking $165 and this includes shipping/handling/insurance. Let me know if you have questions or offers!
  18. The way I see it, the people who complain DON'T HAVE TO COME! There is no reason you should have to feel guilty for your choice. Part of the fun of having a DW is so that your guests can enjoy themselves on a sort of vacation as well.
  19. It's my birthday this weekend and for my present my mom is buying me a pair of heels (because I LOVE shoes!) and I have been surprised at all of the discount websites for high dollar shoes I've seen. Manolo Blahniks for $200. I figured they would be knock-offs, and maybe they are, but the sites seem legit.
  20. I have had both the machine one and the one where the person sprays you by hand. I highly recommend doing the one where the person sprays you. They mix the color themselves so as to match you better, rather having the one-color-for-all with the machine (I think this is where you get orange). They also apply it better since they are able to get the "nooks and crannies" that would be missed with the machine, including the fact that they can apply it more evenly than the machine would. It's really not that expensive either. The place I go to charges $30 and they do a fantastic job!
  21. I found these heels on-line and I think they are some of the cutest shoes I've ever seen! They also have them in hot pink and black. And compared to the original price they are not bad at all.
  22. YAAY! I'm so excited for this thread! I am in pharmacy school so I love talking about DRUGS! (The legal ones of course!) All vitamins have somewhat different amounts of active ingredients in them and, unless you are someone who needs more of a certain vitamin (ie: you have a deficiency of some sort), any typical daily vitamin should do fine. (I prefer the ones based around women's health). Jess makes a good point as far as some of the "hard tablet" forms of vitamins don't get as readily absorbed as say a capsule would. I won't get into the hairy details, but it is true that a soft capsule with powder in it, or even a liquid form, would get more of the active ingredients into your system...thus be "more worth your money". Not to say that the hard tablets don't work, you do get some of the "good stuff" from them.
