Seriously...this forum is so great!! Although I am still worried about my choice, you girls sure do know how to make a person feel better. I definitley wouldn't talk to any of my friends that are coming about this because I don't want to make them have any doubts...but to be able to chat to other brides who have been down this road before makes it easier!! Thanks so much for your input:) I'm going to stick with what i've chosen & if my guests don't have a good time there then maybe they are just being hard to please. Its all about my FI & I and celebrating with the ones we love...+ the weather in cancun HAS to be better then the weather in Canada in October...lol You girls are the best!!!!

Yeah...the DRC one is crazy looking, but the look of the resort totally makes up for it!! I just looked through their photo gallery...WOW...I feel horrible saying it, but I am thinking I made a mistake picking DC!! I'm hoping this is just a stage i'm going through, but the reason i picked it was because of the gazebo & we had our 2 toddlers coming with us...now the kids aren't coming & i'm starting to FREAK OUT about the entertainment at the resort!! The majority of our guests are between 24-30 & i'm so worried it won't be fun enough for everyone. During the day should be fine, but at night I don't want to have to leave the resort & spend a bunch of money...totally freaking out!! Not to mention all the bad reviews on trip advisor!!! Our guests paid a ton of money for this resort & i'll be so disappointed if it looks shabby Maybe I should stop looking at other resorts....beacause all of the other resorts seems so much lovlier & more fun then DC!!!

Just wondering if anyone knows who you book reservations for dinner through? I want to have a group dinner the day after we arrive at the resort & don't know how it works. I just want everone to eat at one of the restaurants on the resort because its AI....any suggestions on how i would do this? Also, anyone know what restaurant is the best there? thanks!

We've decided on the Bahia Principe Tulum. Secrets is nice but my TA said it is pretty quiet, which isn't what we're looking for. Here we'll still get some one on one time, but have some fun doing other stuff as well...ziplining, snorkeling, seeing the ruins, etc....We're happy & excited with the decision + a bonus it was the least expensive out of them all!!!!

OK...so because we are getting married in October & its hurricane season & will probably rain, my FI & I have decided that we want to upgrade our room. Does anyone know what room is the 2 level room...the one with its own living room?? We were just thinking that we'd like to have one of those rooms so there is enough room for our friends/family to come hang out if it rains etc... Does anyone have a picture of the two level room or honeymoon suite...so i can compare? Thanks!!

It is very underwhelming....I think that maybe if they had of made the pillars thicker it would have looked alot better. To me it just looks ackward, but the location is still exactly the same, so you can't beat that + it is just an illustration....maybe the completed version will be more eye-catching??!! Oh, & I think that the stuff wrapped around the actual one is temporary...looks like it will be all cement when finished...

OK....She has sent me the photos of the new gazebo....the first is an illustration of what the gazebo will look like when completed. I really hope this isn't exactly as it will look as it is alittle underwhelming IMO...Regardless, thanks so much for letting us post them so we can be kept in the loop with the changes The next few are what it looks like up to now... A wedding that has already taken place there...

Welcome to the forum!! I'm also a dreams bride & my suggestion is to try to mark the email as urgent. I did that once & had the fastest response EVER from Claudia....although now it takes her a good 2-3 weeks to get back to me lol... Happy Planning!!

Sorry....the polls up now. The choices are El Dorado Royale, Azul Beach Riviera Maya, Secrets maroma, Royal Playa del carmen, Bahia Principe Tulum & Dreams Peurtos Aventuras... The flights in & out of cancun are already booked so we were looking for something fairly close to Cancun Thanks!!

My travel agent has gotten back to me with options for our honeymoon that are within our budget. Our wedding is taking place the week of Oct 6-13 at Dreams cancun & then we are off to spend some one on one time with each other!! Problem is....I just can't decide. I'd like a place that has some form of nightly entertainment. Any help from anyone who has been to any of these resorts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks BDWers!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles Gwen Its really unfortunate that they did the renovations without letting you know that it was happening. Alot of the girls on here already have found out about this and are stressing. Fortunatley, for a few bad reviews there have been LOTS of brides who sucessfully had their weddings at Dreams. I feel for the brides that have to go through this, but I am definitley looking forward to my wedding there...besides everyone is already booked and I can't let myself get all nervous about crappy things happening on my wedding day...a day which is supposed to be one of the happiest days in your life. To all the other brides to be....please don't sweat the small stuff & just keep happily planning!!!

To be completely honest, if I was in this situation I don't think I would invite him. It sounds harsh, but only judging from what you've said, he seems to be a pretty absent father figure. Your stepdad sounds like a real stand up fella and from the sounds of it considers you to be his daughter. Celebrate with the ones that really matter and your wedding will be special. Again, sorry if it sounded harsh, Its just what i would do in your situation. Good luck with your decision!!

I'm glad you are feeling better...BUT i do think all of the brides who have to go through this should be reimbursed in some way from the resort. It is a huge deal and I think I would feel the exact same way as you've felt You should definitley talk with your WC to see what they can do in return for all of the disappointment & anxiety....upgraded room, whatever they can do to make you feel better. After all, you have spent all this money & have guests that are willing to spend their money & this is totally the resorts f*** up... BUT...like I said, i'm glad your feeling better!!!

I think they are making it out of concrete....some guy on their facebook page said that he was there when they were pouring the cement pillars....I think that would look awesome... Also...JT3..On their facebook page its been said that they have another gazebo up that they are using for the weddings that are taking place while the other one is being remodeled!!.
