  1. We didn't have a DJ...we had the soundsystem. So for the DJ it'd probably be a bit more.
  2. The extra hour is a rip off...It cost us $600 for ONE extra hour (covering 26 people) There was no negotiating it down either.
  3. When I was planning my wedding I hired a photographer to fly out there with me & when I told Claudia I wouldn't be needing the resort photographer, she specifically told me no outside photogs...she even sent me a link to Juan Navarros website. I was disappointed at the time that i had to cancel our photographer, but now that it's over & after working with Juan, I couldn't be happier with the choice.....BUT i do think it's crazy that you can't bring your own if your paying...
  4. We asked, but they already had us upgraded. We went stright to the room & there was a big sign on the door & champagne & even a letter already addressed to "Mr & Mrs Jensen". I'm pretty sure they upgrade most of the couples that are having a wedding there.
  5. Great Pictures!! You looked gorgeous!!!
  6. They have one lounge type bar that isn't open very late...I think it closes at 1am. We had my semi-bachelorette party at this place as we were all way too hungover from partying at CocoBongos the night before. It was a BLAST!!! My husband & his groomsmen ended up coming & this is what the night turned into... PS---YOU MUST GO TO COCO BONGOS!!!!!! It is SUCH a great time & so worth the $45 to get in (that includes no line & unlimited drinks) The bartenders at Desires were more than willing to be a part of our fun!! One of the Groomsmen & My husband.... Myself & My Bridesmaids--after a few too many...we fell off of a ledge...You will definitley have fun at the bar. It's all what you make of it )
  7. We were upgraded to the HoneyMoon Suite for free when we arrived...Here's a couple pics of it. It's awesome!! Two level, Two bathrooms , two showers, two balconies facing the gazebo...

  15. You get about 90 minutes with him & we paid 300 for the CD's...there were 3 CD's with hundreds of pics.
  16. Like Carolina - I tried writing my wedding review. It took me quite awhile to finish up, & while adding pictures it cut out on me :s I will try again, because I know how much I appreciated reading all of the reviews on here whe prepping for my wedding
  17. Thanks Courtney!! I'll be working on my review tommorow night Also, I saw your question to Carolina about centerpieces, and I didn't bring any with me, but Claudia made some for us. We only had 2 large circular tables & 1 rectangular head table but she threw together centerpieces for us. They were big glass bowls filled with sand & seashells. Pretty basic, but did the job & I was relieved we didn't have to pay for them.
  18. I got 40 maracas & had to pay $30 in shipping. It's worth it though. Quote: Originally Posted by mwhite Hello, i was looking at those maracas as well but wasn't sure about the shipping cost. how much did you pay to ship to Canada? thanks
  19. I didn't find the maracas had a strong paint odor. They shipped to Mexico easily. My advice is pack a couple extra. I had one maraca fall apart (the handle came out) The paint does chip easily but i packed them in bubble wrap & it seemed to work. Everyone loved them!!
  20. Hey October brides!!! I'm back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Mexico! I couldn't be happier about the way things worked out. Everything was perfect. Here's a picture of my husband & I taken by Juan Navarro at Dreams Cancun 10/10/10 Congrats to all brides who were gone the same time as me & to all future brides!!!
