  1. I was told that my guest did not need to purchase day passes that only the vendors from outside the hotel need day pases. Then again, Im getting marred in the ocean front chapel and then having a small cocktail after wards. Speak to you weddig coordinator about this.
  2. Im also looking for a decent video and photography package deal. I love Sol and Elizabeth Medinas work but the are way out of what we can afford. =0( I wish I could win the lottery so that we could hire them in a heart beat!
  3. Wooo Hooo IM getting marred here Dec 30 2010! Id like to hear from other brides that have gotten marred at this church. I have searched all over the place for weddings in this particular chapel but no luck. Right now my FI and I are in the process of getting the letter from my my church saying that its OK to marry in Mexico. If there are any brides that have gotten married that Gran Caribe Real Catholic Chapel please plots your pics and experiences !!!
  4. Hello ladies I am doing treasure chest invitations for my wedding. I have a few other ladies who are also interested in this too. I have looked for cute chests at hobby lobby and a bunch of crafts stores but no luck. I did manage to find some at Michaels but they look cheaply made and they don't have that REAL treasure chest feel. Even on Ebay a cute little chest made of wood and copper comes out to 20 bucks. After weeks of searching I bumped into a few other brides on the same quest. I have managed to find supplier who is willing to provide these at $5 including shipping. That would be the price if you live in Houston. We are trying to get enough ladies interested in this to see if we can qualify to get them at the cheap price. If your not in Houston I would be willing to ship them to you. You just have to pay for the difference. If any one is interested let me know. These can be used to send invites or std or as wedding favors. Im planning on putting a scroll inside the chest for my destination beach wedding. They have groves inside so you can also put a bottle of wine and give away as gifts. Wood make a cut lush wedding favor. =0) Below are the pics and measurements. Actually i will put a link to the picture as I have tried for the past hour to upload a pic every which way changing sizes and all and it keeps rejecting it. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...g?t=1270529722 SIZE BELOW IN INCHES AND CM SIZE 19x9.5x9.5 cm SIZE 7.48 x3.74 x 3.74" MATERIAL plywood and copper Let me know if your interested. Hopefully we can get enough people to order.
  5. Hi Elizabeth, I'm a frequent reader of your blog and let me just say I love your work. I'm currently stuck in trying to choose from an hacienda wedding or a beach wedding. I have seen many haciendas online but many of them are really isolated. Is there one that you might know of that is somewhat close to the beach? I would love to find something between both worlds. Also I have been trying o find info on the Hacienda San Ignasio Tisip but I cant seem to find any info.

  8. I found an awesome wedding coordinator who speaks English and she can get better deals for you if you want to have your wedding in Xcaret. They give her concessions where she can take her own musicians and what not. That is a major help because Xcaret wont let you take your own musicians you have to use the ones hired by the park. Their dj alone cost almost 2k if you want to have him at your after party. And their mariachi costs 2600. Every thing is such a rip off there. The good thing is since she is an independent wedding coordinator, and she has worked with them for 10 years they allow her a few concessions. I talked to her last night and she sent me a quote at 8 am today. She covered every single aspect even the transportation for every one to and from Xcaret with the option of having a van to drop people off at their hotels should they need to leave early because of kids or elderly guests that feel tired. She also mentioned that she has a private beach (playa del secroto) with a catholic chapel on the beach. She sent me the prices this morning and they are really reasonable. The plus side getting married on a private beach than in a resort is that a resort has time limitations for noise and party length. Having your party on this private beach you don't have to worry and you can make it last longer. If you contact her please tell her that Mireya referred you. Or else she going to wonder how a random stranger got her number. her email :[email protected] her name is patrica and I found her via this website Weddings in Cancun - Wedding ceremonies, receptions and honeymoon services in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean. If dialing from the states you dial exactly like this: 011 52 987 869 0569 and shes available after 4pm. I called her really late last night because I don't get off work till after 6pm, her husband picked up LOL and she talked to me for a good hour. =0) She only charges 800 for her wedding coordinator services. I told her that I was going to mention her services on this web site because allot of the girls here complain that its difficult to get in contact with any one in xcaret or they don't respond to emails. I was able to speak to a wedding coordinator in Xcaret but its only because Im a native Spanish speaker so I'm able to track them down and force them to talk to me! I don't take no for an answer. If any one wants the direct email to a wedding coordinator in Xcaret I can pass that along too. Oh another good thing for those that are looking to have a catholic ceremony Patricia also told me that she could get a bilingual priest. I really need this option since half of our guest will speak nothing but Spanish and the other nothing but English. I hope this helps If any one needs me to email them the Xcaret wedding info packet for 2010 in English or in Spanish send me your email. Or maybe the moderator can contact me and they can add the file to the website or make it a sticky if there is a demand for it. Ok well I hope this helps somebody.

Thank you every one I feel so at home now!!!
  10. I forgot to mention that we are aiming for the very last day of Dec Idealy we wanted the wedding on Dec 31 2010 and party into the new year but well thats in a world where dreams dont come true. Every thing is closed due to it being NY eve. The places that I have contacted wont do a wedding on that day. Our other option is to get married on the 30th 2010. So if that were to happen what would the weather be like then? Any takers?
  11. How about the last week of Dec? Does that help because its closer to Jan? We are planning a wedding for Dec 30,2010
  12. Does any one know what type of weather to expect in December in Cancun and the surrounding areas? Is one part of the Mayan rivera hotter than the other in this time of the year? I know its a silly question but I have family traveling from a cold country and I would like for them to enjoy some fun in the sun and be able to enjoy the nice WARM water and bright sun down there. Where they are from the water stays cold year round, and to be honest I hate going to the beach and getting in freezing water. I just want to have have an idea of what to expect. I hope its not too cold and that its warn and sunny enough to be make it a mini vacation in the sun for our guest.

Thanks for the info I will look them up. :0)
  14. Please let me know if you find something reasonable because Im looking for the same thing. So far I have found that the chapel ( more like a open palapa with a view of the ocean) in the Xcaret is allowed to conduct catholic ceramonies. Having a wedding in Xcaret is a dream come true BUT it comes with a big price tag. My only option would be to have just the ceramony there and have the reception else where. Reason being is because their prices are astronomical. I contacted the wedding coordinators and they sent me the wedding package of prices for 2010. Let me know if you want to look at it I can foward it to you. I have it in english and in spanish.
