Our wedding is in Playa Del Carmen on the 31st and the weather forecast says showers with 60% chance of rain, not even sun showing!! Anyone else out there worried, or had a wedding in March and can give me some inspiration, maybe some advice to not worry about it?? Thanks, Amy

Okay, so I feel like since we are doing destination we should give our family and friends a potential itinerary outlining what we will be doing each day of the trip, that way people can join us or do there own thing. My fiance disagrees and would like to just go and not have it planned out. This is where we struggle in our relationship, I am organized and he is laid back. Any ideas, or know of destination wedding etiquette?? thanks!! Amy

so are you supossed to book a photgopher, because we have the luxury package and it comes with 24 prints which is not a lot, but I have a friend who wants to take some photos. I keep seeing people talk about who they booked to take photos, if you don't does the resort just have someone??

Tracey, Just wanted to know what you thought of the cocktail hour in the garden? We are having ours on the beach as well as the reception and wondering if I should see if we can get the garden area. I am dealing with the same issue with my WC. I have thought about requesting a new one, but I figure once I am there is when It will count, and I have heard wonderful things about the wedding coordinators on site. I guess we have to expect that they take day/weeks to get back to us. I just keep emailing the same one, she eventually gets back, haha.

Has anyone used or going to be using DJ- Ivan Gomez?? I am wanting to book it through him personally, but just want to make sure people have liked his services.

Hi, I am getting married at the Royal 3/31/10 and am doing the luxury. I was told the lighted dance floor would be extra $700 dollars, which I think is a lot. I was wondering what food options you were given? I feel like after reading other brides posts on here about the Royal the Royal my WC tells me different things. I was not even given the cake option you mentioned they said my options are like basic chocolate, strawberrt, lemon, etc... We are having a tough time with food descion too, tough when you have not tasted it. I wish we were doing a site visit. I also heard about a great DJ through this site that is cheaper than what the Royal charges. Who is your WC, mine is Doreen, but she is just the person I have been talking to on the phone.

Thanks ladies for all of your replies. I figured you could find them in Mexico I just don't want to get there and be stressed about it. I did find a website its from Puerto Vallerta and they said they ship the maracas to the resort, I just have not looked into the costs yet. I am thinking I will probably order them a head of time so that I don't worry. I like the one site sent, but I would like to pick out the colors for the marachas and I am sure not crafty enough to make my own but that is such a great idea, maybe I can find a crafty friend. The website I found is mishkadesignspv.com, which I found on here awhile ago. I just love the look of the marachas on the reception tables and I also like the idea of shake for a kiss!!

Hi Ladies, I too am getting married at the Royal in PDC March 31st 2010. Congrats to both of you. We are doing the gazebo for the cermony and then beach for reception. We did our save the dates at Costco just using there photo cards. it was much cheaper this way and they actually turned out cute. We got our invites from Wedding paper divas and I used a palm tree invite that turned out beautiful. Not sure for advice I am getting nervous about the planning, but ancy and wanting to go soon!!

So, I am wanting to have marachas for the wedding favors and I am wondering if anyone has used this idea and if, so should I pre order them online or buy them in playa del carmen 6th Ave?? Any thoughts?

I am just getting to the little details too, which makes me nervous because I struggle understanding the wedding coordinator. Hoping that once we get there all the little details will fall into place. We are having a private beach reception after the cermony and am not sure yet about having a reception when we get home. One purpose for us to do the destination wedding was its cheaper, so I am unsure about spending more money when we get home. My dress will be in any day so excited and nervous, hope to fit into it. I am loving this site, it has really helped with ideas and calming my nerves.
