Well, I wasn't really looking to spend more money than I already am at this "all inclusive" resort And I know you can't reserve the a la cartes for more than 30 ppl. So.... what my WC told me is that my best bet is to make a reservation at one of the buffets. She told me they couldn't push tables together, but that they would seat us all in the same area. I'm sure once I get down there I may be able to slip someone some money to push tables together. We shall see! So, it will be informal, but still get the weekend started off right and get people mingling.
  2. Ugh, what is up with in laws anyway? I would never imagine going to anyone's gathering and start re-arranging tables. So rude. Your whole night will be ruined if you don't put your foot down.
  3. We are doing a welcome dinner, but it's nothing fancy. I'm just organizing us all to be right next to each other in the same buffet. No biggie.
  4. That style number shows nothing on their website. Can you post a pic?

My FI is having a hard time finding a band he likes and I will for sure be showing him this! Thanks for posting it! I have NO clue what Etsy is or how it works, but I'm having tons of fun searching the site! I swear this forum makes me spend more money than I ever planned on spending! Darn you fabulous women!
  6. I am going to continue to look up saks and see what can be done about getting these shoes cheaper, because the saks in my area doesn't sell Loub's. I may go online!

Can you please let me know how your experience was. Yes, Shavon is busy, but that's because she is awesome! don't be frightened by her website. Put in your bid form and wait a few weeks to see if she responds. It took her two almost three weeks to get back to me. She is extremely busy! If by then you still haven't heard anything, I would submit another bid form and wait again. I don't know if I got lucky or what, but my experience with her has been flawless and un-complicated! I sent my deposit in and she's working on mine now. I'm so excited to see pics when she finishes them! I did NOT have to drive to her house (she is not in my area) for any consultation, so you may want to read the small print on that. I didn't even come across that in my reading. Good luck!
  8. I've decided that carrying everything with me (not shipping) is the safest option. This where if there is any confusion I'm there in person to deal with it and I know where everything is!
  9. So, I finished a couple DIY projects. Yesterday I got my Keycard/Tip holders done. I bought the ID/Badge holders from Ebay along with the lanyards. I got 50 of each for $18. Pretty cheap. I printed the inserts on white 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. I don't know how to post a template link, but I borrowed mine from another BDW poster! Thanks!!! Sorry the pics aren't that great! I also finished my OOT tags. I printed the top part on white cardstock and glued (with a glue stick) them onto 3 x 3 squares of navy cardstock. I punched a hole in the corner with a 1/8" hole punch and threaded the ribbon through.
  10. Still no word on menus. Is it THAT hard to get this together? If I had an early '10 wedding I would be fuming right now! What about people trying to make menu cards? Geesh.

I chose fake flowers because they are cheaper mainly and because I'll know exactly what I will get. I plan on selling my bouquets, etc when I get back from my wedding to another BDW poster. It's my second wedding and I know that spending a ton of money on things that will die the next day is silly.
  12. I like the idea of handing out bags before the trip so everyone can take their own down, but it takes away from the dramatics of opening your hotel room door and finding the bags. So, I'm going to bring them. ONE suitcase will be towels only! My 50 towels weigh 52 lbs!
  13. Great job! Hope you don't mind that I stole the template and changed it a bit, but I borrowed your cute saying!!!!
  14. Okay ladies! My loving FI let me buy these shoes on Friday! I'm so excited that I have my dream shoes!!!!
  15. Wow, you did a great job~!! I would be so proud!!!! Now you just have to hope that all your guests appreciate all your hard work, right!!!!!!
  16. I am sooooo loving this new trend of an off color shoe! Go for them girl!
  17. No worries Sarah! I got the new one and all is good! Anyone needing some invitation, STD, menu card, etc help, I would highly recommend Sarah!

  19. People are sooooo rude. I would feel like a grouchy nightmare if I ever spoke like this to someone. Karma is a b***ch.
