I see you have 47 rooms booked! So exciting! My fiance spoke with the wedding coordinator and heard that there is a free dinner if you book more than 35 rooms. Have you heard this? What does this include? My fiance got the information... but not the details! Thanks! Well, I have 47 people booked, but only 21 rooms. Most people are two to a room. I have one room with three and one room with one. I had not heard of this deal. Are you sure it's 35 rooms or is it 35 people? I would love for you to verify this for me. I'll send an email to my WC too but you will likely respond faster We decided on the surf n turf. My fiancee is allergic to fish (not shellfish, just fish..... weird, I know) so he wanted surf n turf which is fine with me! I found something out today from my WC. My package comes with hair and makeup for the wedding, but I am a hairdresser and my BM is a MAC makeup artist so I'll be doing my own hair and she is doing my makeup. I asked the WC if I could use my hair and makeup credit toward something else and she told me no! She told me I would have to give it away to someone else! WTF! I'm so irritated! Do you think that's fair?

I absolutely love love love this show. I've been a dancer since I was 3 and I live vicariously through these dancers!! The only problem is that I work EVERY night in my salon and I miss the show. Does anyone know a website where I can watch past episodes? I don't have DVR.

Ceterpiece help please!
diamondpooch replied to Woodsylou's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I have five as of now unless more people book. Of course u can let me know! no rush! For the vases, flowers and runners I would ask $150. There will be at least five of each thing. -

clearly, you wouldn't need to pay me anything until time got closer, so no worries about that! My email is [email protected] if you want to contact me personally. I could also sell you my runners if you'd like! I bought fabric off ebay and am hand making them. They are navy and white damask. I will post a pic when I finish them. That would take care of your centerpieces other than the lemons and votives. My votives have the candle in them, so they won't look nice once I burn them at my reception, so you'd probably have to bring your own. I got them at the dollar store. -

Woodsylou, I'm getting married at Barcelo which is not far from your resort in Cancun. You could send me a payment via Paypal. Check with your WC if I would be allowed to drop these off at your resort and she could hold them for you until your wedding. (That's only another month an a half). Then the vases and flowers (coming out of the top) would already be down there for you! This benefits you just as much as me, as I will not have to drag these all BACK home, so I have NO problem taking them to your resort for you! -
Fire Dancers in Riviera Maya?

Hopefully my guests will go watch them some other night cause they won't be getting that show at the wedding This is precisely why I didn't hire mine (well, other than how expensive they were). Odds are we will see them perform around the resort at some other point in the week and I will have spent all that money and lost the "wow" factor at the wedding. -
I decided I'm not using those place cards. Don't like them one bit. So, I ordered white finger starfish and I'm going to attach a name strip to the starfish with navy ribbon and place them all in a sand filled dish at the wedding so they will stand up straight. I'll post a pic of the starfish when I'm done with them.

I would have no problem selling these vases and flowers to you and taking them to your resort to be held if you would like! -

Fire Dancers in Riviera Maya?
diamondpooch replied to Sandra&Mario's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
Yup, I got a quote of $1500 for a 45 minute show of fire dancers and stick guys from Barcelo. Ridiculous! Needless to say, unless my tax return is amazing, I won't be getting them! -

This is what my centerpieces will look like. I'm bringing down the vases, made my runners (navy and white damask) and am bringing the votives. The hotel is supplying the lemons. You could choose a smaller vase if you want and bring flowers, etc or go with the fruit idea. -
** Coupon + Discount Sharing Thread **
diamondpooch replied to RaydensMama's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Does anyone know any coupon codes for cotton fruit? I'm ready to order my towels, but would sure love a discount. They're going to be my biggest expense so far because I have so many guests. -
That flight might already be full. Those 7 am flights go like hotcakes once they're opened up and you may have another wedding that held spots on that flight. For example, I paid $2100 to hold 40 spots on a 7 am flight for my wedding guests. Your 7 am flight may not be available due to someone else "holding" those seats.

I bought my TTD from this same person in China. Mine arrived and I have the same critique as you! The quality isn't the best, but it's perfect for TTD and mine had lots of extra fabric on it which is perfect for TTD in the water, wind, etc. You can't beat that price (I also paid $128 after shipping) and I'm perfectly satisfied with it! For anyone who may want to use this person for their TTD, the seller name is Women's World on Ebay. Recommendations would be to not buy a dress with a bunch of beading and it will look just fine.

Save the date magnet- personal note needed?
diamondpooch replied to buckain's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I only sent out the magnet. But, about two months before that I had sent out an informational email regarding travel agent info, pricing, etc, so they knew it was coming. -
Michaels has a great selection of patterned cardstock, but I find their selection of plain carstock to be very limited. You can try it though. Honestly, you may have to cut your cardstock into the size you see on those fans. If you have a Ben Franklin Crafts in your area they have a much larger selection of plain colors. Michaels may work for you though!

OOT Bags
diamondpooch replied to kiwibride's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Try this site. It's where I ordered mine from and, trust me, you won't find any cheaper ones than here. I have 50 guests myself, so price was an issue for me as well. Promotional Tote Bags | Custom Tote bags | Custom Printed Tote Bags -
Finished my programs!!! I used all cardstock and cut them to my measured sizes with a guillotine. Such a time saver. If you are planning on cutting a large amount of paper/cardstock, splurge on one of these as they cut down time and also make crisp edges. The adhesive I used was a Dotto spool. I tried Zotts and also a glue stick and this Dotto thing worked awesome! It dispenses much like the white out that rolls out like tape, but it works fantastic! I ordered the fan sticks from ebay. Everything else came from Michaels. You may not be able to tell from the pics, but the background color is navy. Here is the finished product leaning up against a candle. THE FRONT THE BACK I used the leftover materials to make my place cards. Not sure how much I like the handwritten names yet. I may switch it to stamped names. I've not written on all of them yet.

Monogrammed Towels w/Pics
diamondpooch replied to simba1234's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Those look awesome! I'm going to order my towels through Cotton Fruit as well. Was the monogram included in the price quoted or was it extra? If so, how much?
