Have to cancel. So distraught.
thefuturemrslutz replied to JennandMike08's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
So sorry girl!! I kind of went through the same thing (my FI decided we should not have a wedding since we are building a house). I know it is SO hard, but try to hash through it before you make any final decisions. Can you cut back? Can the two of you just go get married? If not, plan for your wedding in 2011!!!! That gives you 2 years to save!!! It will get better...promise Destination weddings are supposed to be LESS stressful, but to me, they are not! Hang in there!!!!! -
I LOVE Cap Juluca!!!! I wanted to have my wedding there, but my guests were refusing to pay that much. Please post pictures!! Good luck!

She made a good point about the weather...do you guys know if the weather is any different between July and August? My orginal date was July 17th, but my guests can stay for less money at the end of August. Is there a big difference between the 2? Azul Beach is very cute!! I can't remember the names of any resorts, but google "boutique hotels riviera maya mexico" and tons will pull up! They are so many really really cute designer hotels and boutique "bungalow-type" hotels. Good luck!

Oh, and yes Bluesun, they have a lot of the same promotions as they do at Moon Palace...I think things are just more expensive at Le Blanc. I think with 25 rooms, you do get unlimited private functions. Your guests can stay at Moon Palace but will have to pay $80-$130 day passes to come to the wedding. Like katken said, they may not be appealing to you. I know the accommodations at Le Blanc are higher than Moon Palace. As soon as my TA gets back to me, I will let you know!

I thought about doing boarding passes and passports, BUT seems like a ton of work. I kinda want to do them on my own, but think they may be a HUGE project. Could be so much fun though! First I need to decide on my resort. ahhhh back and forth, back and forth!

Thank you thank you SO MUCH!!! Those were my EXACT concerns and you definitely addressed them! I am so back and forth...one minute Secrets, the next Azul. And now i have been looking at Le bLanc, even though I didn't want to get married IN Cancun! The resort just seems so nice!!!!!! Thanks for your help again!

Hi girls!!! I should be finalizing my decision with AS this weekend!!!!! YAAAAAY! I cannot wait to join the thread! I am looking at July 17th. I have looked at those weather websites, but they are all saying it has only rained once in like 10 years. That's hard for me to believe. Do you guys have a better website? Amy, I just sent you an email about your photographer. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!

Hi girls!!!!!! I am SO SO close to making my decision, so may be joining you girls as an AS bride very soon! Some good news with Fabio...I have emailed him 3 times and have gotten a response within 12 hours, all 3 times. Yes, he may be trying to put on a good front, but that's gotta be a good sign! haha I am 10 months out and have already had a ton of freak outs!! Guess that's the way it goes.

GREAT advice!!! Thanks so much! I will definitely start an "informal poll." I would definitely 10 or 15 of my closest to be there, than meeting hundreds of people for the first time on my wedding day! EXACTLY why we are doing destination! I see you are getting married at the Hilton Los Cabos...how do you like it? Is anything included in the price or is it pretty reasonable? THANKS SP MUCH AGAIN GIRLS!

Girls, I need your feedback!!!! Here is the deal...As a lot of you know, I am a newbie and am in the initial stages of finding a resort I love, then switching to another resort, then thinking I am selfish for asking people to spend $2000+ on my wedding, then back to being super excited about a completely different resort! You know the drill. Well, my best friend in the whole world, who was going to be my maid of honor this morning, sent me an email saying that she and her husband simply can't afford to come to my destination wedding. By NO means am I mad at her...at all. She was the one girl I was worried wouldn't be able to afford it. HOWEVER, she definitely struck my insecurities about being so selfish about asking people in this economy to spend all that money. Here are my questions to you girls: 1) Is this the right thing to do? 2) Have you guys thought this way before? 3) What was the FIRST step you took in announcing your wedding? Did you send an email out to see what kind of response you would get? OR Did you just send out the save the dates with some kind of response deal? Thanks so much for listening to me vent through my tears . I would appreciate any advice (validation, ha) for my DW!!! And my FI just gave me the best advice and made me feel a lot better, but I would feel even better hearing it from other DW brides! Thanks girls!
