Before giving up on Grand Velas or Azul, check with a TA. I am getting married at Le Blanc. Grand Velas and Azul Sensatori were two of my top choices as well. While, Le Blanc is still about $500 a night, I did get better deals than I expected. It ends up being about $1000-$1250 per person, including airfare. Grand Velas was more than that and Sensatori was about the same. I know Secrets Silversands is a very modern resort too. They are running some specials right now.

It's so funny how DWs cause so much drama! I don't understand it at all. I have been in several friends' weddings that were in their "hometowns" but I still had to travel, get hotel rooms, etc. I was debating on a DW after my MOH said she just couldn't afford it, which I totally understand. I just felt so guilty asking people to spend all that money. However, once I started asking around, 95% of our guests were super excited! My mom was totally excited but started giving me some grief about every date I chose, saying she couldn't get off work, etc. I think moms just give us a hard time about stuff. She will come around eventually. I think if you make sure she is involved with the planning and feels "wanted" she will change her mind! GOOD LUCK!!!

That is UNACCEPTABLE!! So sorry you are having to deal with that! I would definitely contact your bank...maybe they can credit your account or something. I have never ordered off Etsy but have found some cute stuff lately. Situations like yours make me nervous about those sites though!! GOOD LUCK!! And like Tammy said, karma is a bitch!

Sunbride, random question...do you know why your wedding review and some of the other girls' reviews are not pulling up? You guys had some cute ideas, but for some reason they are not pulling up!

I think the "adult only" situation was a problem for a ton of people. I talked to a lot of girls on here that said that was their first choice, but they had a couple children in their group. And the fact that it is IN Cancun and not outside Cancun. It took me a minute to get over that, but I just loved the resort too much to turn it down. It's a lot like Azul Sensatori, but adults only! Even the "complimentary wedding" is awesome! I am trying to figure out if I am better off doing the "complimentary wedding" and paying for stuff individually or buying "the signature wedding" and just changing a few things. OH, and the best thing is this: the wedding coordinators and travel people there are awesome! They literally email me RIGHT BACK! It's crazy!

Hi!!! I have been brainstorming on cute ways to ask my bridesmaids to be a part of my wedding. Wedding is in Mexico, so I was trying to think of a way to incorporate the beach (cute flip flops) or Mexico or whatever! What all did you guys do?
