  1. Our AHR is next week and after hours of going back and forth about favors, I finally decided to donate to charity instead. I printed up really pretty cards with the donation info and will put one at each guest's seat. A lot of Charities will also print up cards for you.
  2. Those are great. It looks like you put a lot of work into them.
  3. I forgot to mention it's on the cliffs! You could also try Moon Dance Cliffs. I think they can accommodate large groups as well.
  4. Ajamieso, Have you checked out Negril Escape? I'm not sure how many people can stay at the hotel but they have wedding packages for up to 250. http://www.negrilescape.com/weddingpackages/default.htm
  5. Go now. It will take time to get the dress in and altered
  6. Is anyone doing cupcakes or something different besides a traditional cake?
  7. We are using animals instead of table numbers. Each table will have a handmade animal sculpture (zebra, lion, etc) and we have matching keychains for each animal. The keychains will act as escort cards so guests know which table they are at and will double as a favor.
  8. I vote for before. (That's what we are doing!) You can call it a bon voyage party.
  9. Just saw these bags at Old Navy yesterday. The material is a litle light but they are a good size and only $1. Sorry for the poor cell phone pic quality!
  10. I haven't ordered from here before but this place has them for only $1.50 a pack! http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|74081|523428&id=1489155
  11. We considered a thanksgiving wedding however we wanted to have the wedding at a small hotel and the ones we checked did not allow weddings over the holiday weekend because it's a major money making time for them. I think it shouldn't be a problem with an AI or a bigger resort but you should check with them first. That said, I think its a great time to do a destination wedding because people already have the time off from work.
  12. Good Luck Divasmurfette! I'd love to see pictures and exchange some ideas when you return!
  13. Does anyone know if there is a local ice cream shop or any of the US chains (BA=askin-Robbins, Carvel, Ben & Jerry's) in Negril that sell Ice Cream Cakes? We really like the idea of not doing a traditional wedding cake and my fiances favorite thing in the world is ice cream cake.
  14. Our AHR is before our wedding and only people who couldn't attend the wedding are invited so I'll be wearing my rehearsal dinner dress.
  15. I really like dress 1 but if you really have your heart set on 2, have you looked online at some of the preowned dress sights or ebay? I fell IN LOVE with a dress that was way out of my budget but was able to find a bride selling it on ebay. I got the dress for less than 1/2 the original price and it's in perfect condition. http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ and http://www.oncewed.com/ are great places to start.
  16. I'm doing table numbers but not specific seats for about 35 people. That could be a good compromise.
  17. I would love to see a pic as well! I am considering ordering these.
  18. Bettie, Where did you get the $55/person bar quote from? That's way too much. We are doing premium option for only $25/person for 2 hours. Plus the limited bar for $18 during the cocktail hour. They said we couldn't do a tab bar but once we hit our time limit, I'll just tell the bar to charge all the drinks to our room.
  19. I need to agree with Lisanicole. Everyone that said yes RSVPed really quickly and booked the hotel. I'm 1 week from my final RSVP date and I think only 1 or 2 people that haven't RSVPed yet will be Yes's. Pretty much everyone who was on the fence is a no.
  20. Not sure what look you are going for but saveoncrafts.com has realistic plastic mint julep cups and a lot of other non glass options.
  21. I sent out email invites to our AHR and asked people to email or call to RSVP. Worked well for us!
