It would be great if photographers and travel agents could weigh in on those this one. I have been going back and forth between the two and I still can't decide. I like that Secrets has fewer rooms, I also like the grounds they look beautiful. Would look great in wedding pics I am sure. Excellence looks beautiful as well. It is slightly larger, they have lots of restaurants to choose from. Also if we ended up having guests, we could upgrade to the next wedding package for only $850, Secrets next package is $2K. Also, I don't think it will look as nice in pictures. So what do you think. Anyone ever been to both?

I am struggling between three resorts. Secrets, where you can get a complimentary wedding package with an upgraded room. Secrets looks great in pics. Excellence Riviera Cancun where you can also get a comp wedding package if you get the upgraded room and you can upgrade to the next package for just $850 more which includes dinner and cocktail hour for 20 guest. Excellence also looks great in pics, but is it a little larger. And lastly Blue Tulum, which looks beautiful but has no included wedding packages and has canceled on brides on this board. What is a girl to do?

I will be purchasing something for my BM and his GM, and will be doing OOT bags, but other then that everything is up in the air. So if you do choose having family, all you would really have to worry about would be your travel and wedding pkg costs. Stick with the most minimal wedding pkg bc why not? Your already paying for all your food and drinks, why pay more for some pkg deal? You can still have fun and not be so formal with a reception dinner in a ballroom or on the beach. Have dinner with everyone at one of the resort restuarants. That is at no extra cost. You dont have to pay for anyone's trip or excursions, or do any extras. Its your wedding and no one is going to be upset bc you didnt have decorations or centre peices, or OOT bags or whatever....if family is important - have them there. If your are as important to them as they are to you, then they wont care about all that extra "stuff", they will just be happy to be a part of your special day. Thanks fo much for that! I was obsessing so much over upgraded dinners and centerpieces lol. We shall see what happens.... I will let them know that the option is there and try to get an idea of who wants to come and decided from there.

I understand what you mean! There is no way we could spend that much money on a local wedding and the truth is I really don't want to have that many guests. I would rather it be just the two of us, but we are sure to disappoint our families that way. To make it so that we can have guests will costs us more money and I doubt that we will be making any money back by having a wedding! We bought a home in May 2008, so we'd much rather put more money into our home than a wedding. We both work for financial institutions so we really need to be prudent in these times!

I am really torn between it just being the two of us and making it a family and very close friends thing. I love the idea of it between just the two of us, because it is so much more private and intimate. Also, it will be much cheaper. I don't think our families will be too happy if we leave them out of the big day, but on the other hand they aren't contributing much. In no shape of form do I think they are obligated, but at the same time the fiance and I in these current economic times can't really foot the bill either. So what are you going, it is it a couples only thing or are you making it a family affair?

I kept trying to figure out why I couldn't see certain things on the site. I didn't realize that you needed points or to have achieved a certain level of membership, because every time I tried to click on the FAQ's it said I wasn't authorized. I finally found a post that explained it all, so thanks:) Also, I now see that we are not to ask people to PM or email us downloads, which I was guilty of. So other Noobs be careful as well. Hopefully I will get the hang of this a little bit better.

Welcome to Mexico brochure

So that's why I can't open anything! I didn't know you had to have points to see things, now I am curious about the brochure. If someone could email it to me as well, [email protected] Thanks -
I am sure that you get ton of emails from people asking questions about your current packages and prices. I notice that this is a stop along the way for many, so I was wondering if it is allowed for the vendors to post their most current information in one post. I've been emailing and calling and it seems like it was just be much more convenient if it were all in one place.
