    Thanks for posting the photos! I think we will upgrade our decoration package as well. Can any past brides comment on the quality/service of the spa for day-of hair and or make up? I really want a great hair-do but am paranoid that they won't be able to or will just do their own thing.

    Sandy - my dress was 1056 with taxes in. So dresses in your budget shouldn't be a problem! I love my dress - I can't wait to wear it. I found it at the store in Edmonton but ordered it from the Bridal Center here in town. I found them easy to work with once I had my dress but they didn't listen to my needs when I was shopping. The woman kept putting me in poufy ball gowns. Seriously, lady! I'm getting married on the beach!

    It's an invitation, not an obligation. They can choose whether to attend or not! I understand that it is a lot of money and that not everyone can afford it but the comments to those planning the wedding are just unnecessary!

    We've been hearing this from our inlaws. Not about Mexico, but about the DR. I just try to smile and nod it away. Or I have said a few times that it was our decision and that's where we want to be married. They still can't wrap their heads around a DW so I doubt the location makes much of a difference. I'm sorry that you're getting all these comments - just try to focus on the positive people! Negative nellies aren't worth it

    I had fantastic service at Cameo and Cufflinks - Have you gone there? I ended up finding my dress in a store in Edmonton, though.

    Definitely tackle one thing at a time as pp have suggested. Looking at the big picture will just stress you out too much! I'd start with save the dates because you want to let your guests know asap the resort, location and date. As far as dress shopping, my friend and cousin both bought sample dresses that they were able to take home the very same day. There are also rush fees if you decide to order a dress. There are options for you so don't stress out too much

    I think a nice compromise is for him to wait to pop the question until after the wedding. It is going to be a beautiful setting so you can understand why he wants to take advantage! Once the wedding is done everyone can celebrate without it stealing your thunder. Keep us posted!
