Finding Out The Gender Of Your Baby?
JennyAdele replied to jackshayne0123's topic in Trying to Conceive
That is a wonderful sentiment to pass on to us. Thank you for your wisdom. -
I also thought about starting right before the wedding but then my friend got pregnant and had the worst morning sickness from weeks 6-12 that I decided it wasn't worth the risk. And besides, I wanted to drink all the Pina Coladas I could while at an all inclusive resort for my wedding. I got married July 2nd. We're currently on Cycle #2 of TTCing. Fingers crossed!

My update on Tropic One Studio is that they are fantastic! I had Lala as my photographer and she is so skilled and really knew what she was doing. Everyone has been complimenting the photos and some look like they are right out of a bridal magazine. I would highly suggest them! I'm not sure if Lala works just out of PPC but its worth asking for her!

Toronto Area 2014/2015 Brides
JennyAdele replied to tygrrlily's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
I just got married this summer but I wanted to pass along a recommendation. If any of you are near the Elmira area, the bridal shop called Taylor's Bridal is well worth the road trip (I drove 3 hours to go there each time!). Their prices are great and their service is so personalized. This place was the highlight of my wedding planning. Much love! -
July 2014 Brides
JennyAdele replied to LoriGran's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Well ladies….looks like we're all a bunch of married women now! Congrats and I wish you all a happy marriage! Now on to the baby making! haha! -
I can't speak for the other resorts, but I can speak for PPC and it is a gorgeous and romantic resort to have your wedding at. Price was an issue for us as well when we were choosing a resort, but it came down to what resort "felt" right for us to get married at…even if that meant we would lose guests due to cost. In the end we had 18 of our closest family and friends attend and I ended up loving the intimacy of that. Picking the resort is the hardest part. You need to decide what would make you and you soon-to-be husband happiest in the end I wish you the best!!

July 2014 Brides

Married and it feels amazing!! Hope all the other July 2014 brides are loving married life! Good luck to those of you who still have your upcoming nuptials Enjoy the day…you only get one and it flies by!! -
Thank you I didn't upgrade any of my flowers. My husband and I had the ivory roses which came with the package. I had my bridesmaids hold parasols instead of flowers which I thought looked really beautiful. I bought the parasols for $8 CAN each from my bridal boutique back home in Canada. Did anyone else notice that PPC was on the Bachelorette this past week?? That just goes to show you how beautiful and romantic the resort truly is! That should be some good "piece of mind" for anyone who hasn't been there yet

Ladies…Im back from my wedding at PPC!! I first have to say that it was an amazing week and I know you will all have the time of your life there! It is by far the most beautiful resort compared to the other resorts we saw down there. All my guests said it was the nicest resort they have been too and want to go back! It is just breathtaking with the beauty and ambience of the resort. So rest assured ladies, you made the right choice in choosing PPC! The food was GREAT! The service was phenomenal! There was never any issue getting a spot at the pool or beach (and July is even considered high season!). We had beautiful clean rooms and if there were any issues, the resort staff fixed it promptly. My husband and I we upgraded to the Royal Service when we arrived which was nice because our group was located in the nearest villas to our own. Our butler's name was Candida and she was so helpful and amazing and not pushy at all! We were super close to the pool and beach (1-2 minute walk max!) and the main lobby was just a 5 minutes walk from our Villa (some people complained it was a 15 minute walk but its not if you talk the "eco-path"). Wedding Details; We had our rehearsal dinner at Gabi Beach because they could accommodate a big group easily and it was lovely. We met with Miguelina and we went over all the details with her and then she introduced us to Taimir from Arrecife and we went over the photography details. Our photographer was Lala and she was amazing!! I highly recommend her! Wedding Day: I booked the Bridal Suite which was nice because your can get your hair done right there while all the bridesmaids get ready with you. They had Champaign and Orange Juice and several hors d'ouevres there for us. Our butler arranged a shuttle to drive us to the beach gazebo for the ceremony at 4pm. Our symbolic ceremony went perfectly with no complaints. We did photos afterwards and had the cocktail hour at the same time…and they extended the cocktail hour free of charge! A shuttle picked us up and took us the the reception at the Main Pool Terrace. It was beautifully set up and the ambience was stunning. We opted for the bistro lights instead of the chinese lanterns because the chinese lanterns were $370! The bistro lights looked amazing and I'm super happy we made that choice! We didn't have a DJ service and instead brought our own wireless speaker system (The "XL Beats Pill" by Dr.Dre) and it worked amazing with our iPod and everyone was dancing. We had The Grill Menu Option 1 and it was delicious! The guests raved about the Lobster. The cake was one of the best cakes I've ever had as well! I got the 2 tier, white and chocolate cake. We all heading to the disco/lobby after the reception ended to keep the party going. Overall, this was way better than I had anticipated and I wish I hadn't been so stressed about it. They took care of everything and the resort itself (food, staff, rooms, pools, beach, EVERYTHING) was perfect! My guests have called this week "magical, dreamlike, a fantasy, etc…" and I truly think its worth the steeper price. This truly is a 5-star resort and your guests will be blown away! Let me know if you have any questions because there is so much more I could talk about! I hope this review is piece of mind for anyone reading outdated/rare negative feedback about the resort. I honestly have no idea why anyone would complain about PPC. Wishing you ladies all the best with your upcoming nuptials!! Wish I could come along and experience it all over again! lol Jenn

You are right about so many of these!! Thanks for posting! I know how you feel…I move away from Burlington for a few years and as soon as I could afford Burlington living again, I moved back! It's not cheap to live here, but then again, it is in the top 3 best places in Canada to live so it makes sense! Hoping for your husband's "golden handshake"! I hope so!! I'm planning on putting pictures up when I get back. Time flies, and pretty soon yours will be quickly approaching! My biggest lesson learned…don't be a procrastinator! I really wish I took that advice more seriously a few months ago. -
I'm having a welcome dinner but instead of having an "official" set up, I'm just going to make reservation at a restaurant and tell everyone to meet there because its FREE. The fantasy package plus adding on the reception was much cheaper than going with the chill out chic package. The chill out chic was based on 24 guests and because I only have 15 guests, we were paying way more than we needed too with that package. The Fantasy package is based on 10 guests so we just paid for 5 more guests (TIP: Choose children as your extra guests because they are much cheaper to add on than adults!). Hope that helps! But keep in mind that if you have closer to 24 guests, the price of adding on goes up and Chill Out Chic may become the more affordable option. Same with all the other packages as your guest list grows! Have a great weekend! Jenn So we officially fly out in less than a month!! I'm feeling overwhelmed!! Did anyone else find it difficult to work with Caribbean Celebrations for wedding extras? I feel like I have a million questions but all I can do is email them back and forth and it takes forever to get a response back! Time is running out here!! lol Just had to vent!

Congrats Katrice on booking your wedding at PPC! I'm sure you'll find after reading through this forum that you made a great choice! I didn't go with the Tailor Made package because I only have 15 guests. In the beginning, I went with Chill Out Chic because I was sure I would have 25-30 guests, but people have had difficulty coming up with the money to go and have opted out. As of just last month, I changed my package to the Fantasy package and added on a reception. They were very flexible and allowed me to change it hassle free. So you can change your package to match your guest list throughout the process Happy planning! Jenn
