Your experience is very similar to mine, the dress... Piece of cake! It was the first one I tried on. The shoes, well let's just say, I went to NYC from FL in search for my perfect pair and came home empty handed!! I was like "Seriously, you are in NY and you cant find ONE pair!! I did find one pair of Kate Spades but they weren't the right color, so I stalked the web and stores until they came back in and ordered them right away .
  2. Hi JodieP, I think more and more brides are choosing different dresses for their BM's. I for one am . I think having different dresses are wonderful and very age appropriate and will make each girl feel beautiful. I have 4 BM's and they all have different dresses and are actually in 4 shades of Blue. I used Davids Bridal's wedding attire application to get a idea of how it will look, it was very useful even though none of their dresses came from there. It just gave me a idea of the shades and lengths of what it would look like to have them in different dresses. Now a days there really is no wrong or right way to plan a wedding , you dont have to have cookie cutter BM's if you dont want to . All the Best!
  3. I got mine for my niece from this site: Flower Girl Dresses, Communion Dress, Bridesmaid & Prom Dress very reasonable , 95% of their Flower Girl Dresses are under $50
  4. I was browsing Etsy earlier and found this fun idea for a Non-Traditional Guest book, although I am not sure how well it would travel, I just love the idea of it ... The seller makes surf boards that are 47" high x 15 1/4" wide. Then you could use different color paint pens for your guest to sign. Beach Wedding Guest Book Tropical SURFBOARD by thebackporchshoppe
  5. Hey Y'all!!!! I thought we could get a thread going for all our Florida Brides, tell us where you have decided to get married !!!! I am getting married in Key West, FL April 2011. I am so so excited! Finally I am less than a year from our date

But....I couldn't really justify getting a knock off dress for no reason other than to trash it. I have a cute little linen sun dress I might wear but I know it won't give the same effect - it will look more like an engagement photo shoot - still might be fun. I might do an after wedding session where I don't "trash" my dress (we'll see...). I don't think I should risk forever ruining the fabric though... Yes we are Paloma Brides !!!! Yeah!! Congrats on your fitting!!! I loved the dress that you picked out! I know how you feel, I too think the pictures will be amazing, to me it more or less depends on what you are planning to do with the dress after your wedding. Have you tried calling a few Dry Cleaners and asking them about the Dress fabric and if it is something they could treat? Maybe you can get some fun fabric, tulle and make a fun train on your linen dress to add a touch of drama to the dress. It could be fun if you use different colors or textured fabric... just a idea .
  7. I am going to use a coffe table book, It is a book filled with photographs of our wedding location, Key West. So all of our guest can sign a page or leave a note to us if they desire. . I got a couple funky pens for people to sign, a large pink Feathery Flamingo and a Blue Marlin Sail Fish, I love them, they fit our personalities . I am so girly and my honey-to be loves to fish. I love the idea of keeping it on my coffee table and reading through it on occasion . I was just at a wedding recently that had fortune cookies made out of paper, the paper was awesome. They used there wedding colors and had the paper reflect those colors with different shades, patterns, etc. They had little strips of paper that you could write a wedding wish on. Then you fold the paper and push it into the fortune cookie and placed them into a large Glass Container. The bride and groom read all of them the next morning at brunch. It was a really cute!

I go around taping down my friends tags and hanger ribbons all the time. They always ask, "Do you have any of that tape with you?" Men have Duck Tape, I have Hollywood Tape!!!

The tiara is small and not very big so it doesn’t look like too much on me and the veils actually look like one piece instead of two. For the wind issue (which I heard Aruba has a lot of) I am getting that Hollywood wedding tape and taping the veil to me so it doesn’t blow around and stays where it should while I am wearing it. It is only staying on for the ceremony and half the pictures, but I don’t want to play around with it. I am only going to wear the tiara all night. I LOVE HOLLYWOOD TAPE!!!!! It is the BEST STUFF EVER!!!! I thought about doing this as well!!! Let us know how it turns out!!!!

Someone told me that it can lose the shine of the silk and can damage the material. Also, I was told to be very careful as to who you let clean it after your wedding. Make sure you go to a cleaner that specializes in Wedding Gowns and special fabrics. I too wanted to do a trash the dress, so I will look for something less expensive than ruining a $2000 dress, my heart would be broken if my dress got ruined, not to mention I don't want to travel home with a wet dress or a dress that smells like the ocean or a pool . Yes!!! I would get a knock-off for sure, the cost of the knock off will be far less than a cleaners bill, plus would could be a material that is OK to get wet and dry cleaned. Then you could actually wash it before you left your resort either yourself or have your resorts cleaner service assist you with it .
  16. We are are more likely using Glass Hurricane vases, Local Sand, and white candles in the vases on top of the sand , then a few tea lights around the centerpiece. Very simple, yet beautiful. The hardest part is getting the Vases to your location. Each of my bridesmaids, myself, & 7 other family members are packing one vase in our carry-ons :. Also chat with you wedding planner at your site. You might be able to rent so you dont have to travel with them, then all you need to have are candles and sand if you need it.
  17. I bought a hair flower that I knew for sure I was going to wear, I too was undecided on a veil, so I decided to purchase a inexpensive veil to try with my dress. I figured if I didn't like it I could use it for my bachelorette party . I LOVED it!!! ... not to mention I only paid $16 for my hand-made veil ($21 after shipping). So still not a "true" all-inclusive, its more like being on a cruise ship , you get the meals but have to pay for your booze .

I would say book as soon as you know that you for sure want Real touch.
  20. The plans can be great and since they were included in our package, we didn't feel as guilty if we decided to stray off the plan to have a nicer Dinner somewhere. They explain where and how to use them on Disney | Official Home Page for All Things Disney Disney is a great place to have a wedding, but I know can be really expensive. It may be more something your family could enjoy . I actually had another friend get Married at a Hotel in Downtown Disney, called Buena Vista Palace. It was really nice!! Most of us stayed on Disney Property, and the others at BVP, they have transportation provided as well to the parks and if you are looking for a place to have the wedding to reduce cost look into other Hotels that are close and just travel to them from your Disney Resort:). Not to mention surrounding Theme parks are having great deals on tickets!! Lots of Luck!!!
  21. I booked with Angel as well , she is so wonderful to work with!!! I could be happier with my choice!! She worked with me to create a great package to fit my flower budget!!! She responded very quickly to all my e-mails and questions. I can't wait for my pictures and to receive my flowers !!!!!
  22. If you are looking for something with a Beach Destination feel I would check into something in the Keys, I am not sure of any "True" All-Inclusives, but there has to be something down there I would think. If you are looking for Family and/or Fun, try Disney World, they have meal packages that you can include with your stay and tickets. We did this last year for our Vacation and did the Disney Meal Plan, which actually was included in our stay for free because we had booked for a certain amount of days. I believe they also do payment plans for your packages if booked far enough in advance. Plus there are ways to have a non-Disney wedding. I attended a wedding there that was about 40 people and they did an amazing job with everything!!!! Good Luck!!!!

I mean you can't have a beach wedding without the beach!! The news is currently just talking about it spreading to Pensacola, FL, but our location is less than 80 miles down the beach from there and we have 6 days for it to get there. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, Amanda I forgot to mention that I am attending a wedding in Blue Mountain Beach, which is very close to you this weekend , so far we have not heard anything that her beach ceremony will be mored, but my FI said they are being updated daily by their wedding planner as to any change to give the guest the heads up. I really hope that for both of you your wedding weekends will be wonderful
