July is a tough month for a outdoor ceremony in FL, the temps will be hot and rain/thunderstorms are likely, as well as this is during Hurricane Season (June 15 - November 15). But if you can find a space that you love that is outdoors, just try to have the ceremony in the lastest part of the day that you can to help avoid the hottest part of the day . Make the ceremony short and sweet and maybe offer your guest lemonade or something cooling (hand-held fans) during the ceremony as well as sunblock, even being outside for a hour can leave you with a sunburn in July. This will help keep them happy and cooler . If you are looking for a beach wedding, the Tampa area would be where I would think would offer what you might be looking for. I know the Disney Area pretty well and there are so many places to stay on all different types of budgets, even on Disney Property. FI and I just vaca'd in Orlando and stayed at Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa, it was really nice and we found rooms under $90 a night. They do have tons of ballroom space for indoor and outdoor weddings too Good Luck and keep us updated on your findings , I know all us Floridians would love to help .

Silk and Water no not mix , oh well. Call the Cleaners you are going to use after the wedding and ask them for advise . Maybe you can do another type of TTD without water , a Fun Photo Shoot in your dress the day after the wedding, something festive and full of vibrant Mexican Colors, or travel to a Historical spot . I bought a less expensive BCBG white long dress ($150, new off Ebay) to wear if I decide to do a TTD, it's something that I can wear again or to my rehearsal if I decide not to do the TTD. Anyone use beach mats instead of chairs?
roxyqt replied to RedHeadBride's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hey everyone, I ran across this today in Style me Pretty looking for inspiration, a wedding with beach seating .... Thought I would share if anyone was wanting to see what this wedding was like . It looks like there are 2 benches in the background as well and the guest count is pretty large Google Image Result for http://cache.stylemepretty.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/megan-41.jpg -
Bridesmaid dresses help?

Not sure how casual you would like, but try some different Surf brands Roxy, Hurley, O'Neill, Volcom, Billabong. If you found something your girls like try getting an inexpensive sash in the alternate color for your wedding. These are the ones I purchased for my chairs, but one is going on my Flowergirls dress and a few of my girls might wear them as well:). You can't beat the price $0.85 each!! Even if they dont wear them, it cost me under $4 to have them for them just incase tablecloths Table Linens Chair Covers Sashes Quote: Originally Posted by Erica&Rohan2011 I am very picky and particular as well, but have you tried David's Bridal, they have good prices and varied selections? Hello Rae17! Congrats on getting married I live on the Gulf Coast and this past winter was beyond Cold (we had temps under 20 degrees for an extended period of time in January)!! With the winds from the Gulf it can feel about 10-15 degrees colder than the temperature reads. I have been to a few weddings in the winter months here and during our colder months many people choose to be married inside or in a area that overlooks the beach inside or heated, but some try to brave the cold. One that was on the beach in January and I couldn't even enjoy one part of the ceremony, I was frozen in my dress it was about 20 degrees outside. Thankfully they had a tented/heated receptions so their guest were able to enjoy the reception and we had a blast and forgot how cold we were earlier and made a big laugh about it. Heaters are the KEY and a place cozy place for your guest to warm up . Another wedding I attended was in March, the ceremony was chilly but the sun was out so it wasn't so bad, they had a pool side ceremony that the wind was blocked by the condo buildings. The minute the sun went down and we walked over to the reception area (no heaters or buildings to block the wind), it was so cold, people were going to their cars/condos to grab anything warm to put on jackets, blankets, and even a few people changed into Jeans and hoodies . The bride spent much of the evening with a Christmas decorated green and red Fleece wrapped around her for her Purple and Black themed wedding. By the time cocktail hour was over 1/2 of her guest had to leave because of the cold weather (older guest, pregnant mommys, parents with Children, and a few others that were not prepared for cold weather). No one was aware that the reception was outside. The only warm room in the area was the poolside boys/girls joint bathroom . Another outside wedding was in a area close/overlooking the beach that had 2 Heated Tents , one for the ceremony and one for the reception . It was perfect!! The only time you were cold is when you ran to the clubhouse to use the restroom . I would suggest a back-up inside venue as well! Not just for the cold temps, but for Rain as well, as with any outside occasion you never know what the weather will be like. If you really want pictures on the beach, I would suggest having the bridal party do them during a warmer part of the day to avoid freezing your guest . Also make your guest well aware of the Cold weather and let them know even though it is Florida we still can have cold weather. We all wish it was 85 and Sunny everyday here , but sadly its not.

We should be making a decision soon, my FI is going for a trip in July with his buddies so he is being forced to make a few trips to the venues to scope them out. He loves me . To bustle or not to bustle?
roxyqt replied to seedsngarlick's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Your Dress is GORGEOUS!!! I would recommend having them put a bustle on it, It shouldnt cost too much and can help protect your dress later after the ceremony, plus you dont have to worry about people stepping on it or getting the train dirty , The PLUS side is that if you do have them bustle it, you can decide at the wedding if you want it up or down . I love my dress bustled!!! I went with a French bustle, because my dress has pick-ups, Its takes about 3 minutes to tie all 5 ribbons, and the back of the dress looks nice and shows off the pick-ups . -
Bridesmaids Tanning Dilemma
roxyqt replied to TaniBBurwell's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hello, I use bare minerals, warmth, on my tan lines . I love it because it doesnt stain my clothes and adds just a touch of color to tone down the tan lines , Just remember that most over the counter products will need to dry before you put on the dress, If not you could ruin the dress . (I had bought some clinque self tanner and tried on a BM dress and the inside is ruined by the product. I was so sad). Good Luck, have them try a few things to see what works best -
I went with a very light weight material, Raw Silk. http://palomablanca.com/3802.swf I went with a Paloma Blanca 3802. I am getting Married in Key West in April with a outside ceremony. Temps are usually 80-90's. I thought having a big dress would make me hot, so we decided to keep the ceremony outside later in the day to avoid the extreme heat and make it short and sweet, then have our reception inside with A/C. Then I am only outside for a bit . Plus our reception site has plenty of windows to make it not a stuffy ballroom . You could always find a shorter dress to change into if you think the heat might get to you, but of course if you are spending a good amount on the dress I wouldnt want to change either . Once you get dresses on you will have a better ideal of what works and what doesn't, I knew instantly I didnt want a satin dress, they were sooo heavy!!! The raw silk is very light and airy All the best

I just adore your dress!!!! It looks amazing!!! They did a great job, from the pictures everything looks good!! What material did you go with? I am thinking about having a knock-off made for a short party dress for the evening (we are getting married in Key West and after the reception we are hitting Duval St. for a fun time with our friends, I dont want to ruin my Paloma Blanca in Hogs Breath or Irish Kevins, or any of the other fine establishment there)

Destin, seacrest, rosemary beach....which one???
roxyqt replied to Missy1's topic in Florida Weddings
Destin is a AWESOME place to have a wedding!!! I have been to a wedding just recently by Monark Events in Destin, They are a fairly new event planning company so have more time to devote to their events!!! Monark Events I dont have any pictures but I included their link. Also look into The Reunion House on VRBO in San Destin area or Highlands House (?) near Blue Mountain beach. The benefits of having it in or around Destin proper is there are more things to do and everything is close. But a big house is awesome for keeping everyone together . Also I heard that RedFish Village in Blue Mountain beach is a really great place to have a wedding/Reception. They are condos so you can rent and many as you would need . Hope this helps. I live in the Gulf Coast area so if you have a question, just PM me -

I was just at a wedding last weekend near Destin, FL and it was beautiful!!! I too worry about the spill, but like you said it is out of our control and I know we can all mmake the best of it!!
