If you find something, make sure it's 'your' dress - and you're not just buying a dress b/c of the pressure of finding one there. When my friend was at the sample sale, she met Carmel and liked her - so when we went back for the second dress, she requested her. I thought she was horrible - fake and rude. She very obviously didn't remember my friend but pretended to and then after a few minutes was saying how much she loved her and her parents who were at the sample sale. She also snapped at me because I was made a comment about being drawn to one dress over another b/c it was more my style - making the point that I wasn't impartial and if my friend liked the other dress more, to ignore me. My friend knew exactly what I was saying - and I thought Carmel was out of line and rude. I wasn't surprised when she was let go. When I got my dress at Kleinfeld, I had an amazing experience. You don't have to get one of the consultants featured on TV to have the Kleinfeld experience. When my consultant came out to greet me, she was an older woman - and I did not feel extremely confident with her - but my fears were unfounded. She was a pro - she's been in the business forever and knew what she was doing. Granted I made her job pretty easy - I started to cry with the third dress I tried on and knew it was the one. The best part was that it was a trunk show that day and I not only met the designer of my dress (Anne Barge) but she was the one who picked out my veil and she got me kleenex so I wouldn't stain the sample dress with my tears. It made it really special. I had no desire to be on TV but I did want to meet Randy - and he's exactly like you see on TV. Hilarious. Thank you so much for the words....I am partly afraid to go because I do not want to get caught up in the moment!! LOL I have a few other stops first...so...hopefully if I go...I will not get caught up!!

Thanks guys for the comments....I do not want to spend a lot on my dress and plan to go to their Blowout sale which is a week or so before my appointment. If I find my dress before then or at the sample sale...I will probably not even go to Kleinfelds for my regular appointment. People say that I should go just for the experience...we shall see. Just the same...I would love to meet them all...I too have become addicted to the show!!

I was so excited...last night I saw the bridal consultant Sarah from "Say Yes to the Dress" at a mexican restaurant in Manhattan. I was so surprised...she was so sweet. I told her that I have an appointment next month at Kleinfelds and she said that I could ask for her!! She said that she is getting married next year. Now of course, my Kleinfleds appointment is my last one as of now because I am hoping to find my gown at a more moderately place store...but I sure would love to see Keisha, Randy, Sarah and Audrey!!

Exactly. I am getting married in the Bahamas too and I am going to use a photographer from BDW. I am going to fly the photographer and assistant down. Believe it or not...this can be less expensive than using many of the photogs my resort recommends. Also...I feel comfortable using a vendor from this forum. Just know that in the Bahamas you have to get a license for the photog that is approx $300. There are threads on this in the Bahamas forum....good luck.

I have to say that you were a STUNNING bride!! This slide-show is really and truly one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a long time. I'm telling you...you MUST enter yourself in some contest!! LOL Someone...somewhere deserves a prize for this entire wedding. I also love the idea of a white-out party!! BRAVA!!

I guess what I wanted to know is if the photographs in the book that was created for you are actual prints that are placed on the pages of the book or are they somehow superimposed onto the pages. Does that make sense? Maybe in this day and age actual prints are a thing of the past? LOL

I have never stayed at the RIU but have spoken to quite a few people during my travels while in the Bahamas and most seemed pretty happy with the resort. However, you can find plenty of reviews about this resort within the following link on Trip Advisor: Riu Palace Paradise Island (Paradise Island, New Providence Island) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor
