Only the basic invites...just box and invite" are moderate in price. It's a shame because some of these are just FABULOUS!! To think that I was complaining about the $5 per cost of Passport invites!! LOL Would love to hear any other ideas....if not...I think that I will have to break down and buy Passport invites. My guests should really like these. BTW...are you starting to get excited? If you don't mind, I could also use your leads for the hair and make up as my fiance is still trying to figure out what she is going to do about that. It's nice to know we can pick things up downtown for the bags too. We want to do favors but only if we can get some sort of favor that reminds people of the Bahamas. Otherwise they get nothing If your looking for a DJ, we are using Jose Ageeb, if you want his info let me know. He was reccomended to us so I gave him a call and I booked him that night. He really seems to have his act together. I also found this review on-line before I called him: DJ: Jose Ageeb (Love him! Jose was key. Great personality, reliable, fun, and extremely helpful. He also helped me find a saxaphonist for the cocktail hour and set it all up for me. We became good friends which I'm sure a lot of people can't say about their DJ's. Rating: A+) Give him a call. Very nice guy. A bit more pricey than others but he pretty much said he would run the whole reception and I have nothing to worry about. P.S. Everyone always say "ladies" - there are some men on here doing the planning Oh...so sorry..I DO remember that you are indeed a boy You must be a gem too to do so much planning!!! Anyway, please send me the info on the DJ!! I need one bad as well as someone to play music at the ceremony. Are you still looking for transportation? If so...I may have a lead for you. My driver back to the airport has a fleet of cars and business and said that for $10 per person R/T, he could take my guests from the Atlantis to the Poop-Deck Sunset....this is CHEAP as I was quoted between $21-24 from every other person. It is for this reason that I decided to do a welcome dinner that did not require transportation. I can't vouch for the guy, but while I was in the car he did confirm a pick-up from the Cove at the Atlantis to the Poop-Deck Sunset for the same price and got many calls. Let me know. As for hair...just an FYI...I am black and am looking for someone that does black hair...don't know if this would suit your FI's needs I am waiting for someone to send me some leads from the Bahamas. There was mention of a salon/spa that will do hair at the salon or where you are at in one of the Atlantis threads. As for make-up...waiting for the info but my Nassau friend is hooking me up with a make-up artist that works at MAC in downtown Nassau. I will let you know when I get the info. Oh...I am using Floral Arts for my decor....I even went to visit them. The reviews on here have been mixed, but I got quotes from both Floral Arts and Wildflowers and believe it or not...they were much more reasonable. As for the items for the bags...make sure to haggle...I got each of them for $1.00 a piece since I was buying in bulk. Karen..thanks!!

Okay...the time has come to order my invites....I think that I have settled on ordering Passport invites, but considering the cost, I want to make sure that I am not missing out on any other destination invites that are unique outside of Passport and Boarding Pass invites. All ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Only married 7 weeks and heading for divorce :(

Leslie, I am so sorry to hear this. Don't let him make you think that you are being unreasonable in your requests. If he wants you to trust him again...he needs to do what is necessary to build up that trust again. Men have a way of doing this. All I can say is trust your gut. It could be that your husband merely enjoys the attention that this trollup is giving him...and is actually innocent of any physical cheating. If that's the case, while not great, at least you can possibly salvage your relationship. I'm wishing you all the best. -
Thanks TLogan...I was drooling over the Cloisters...just gorgeous. Martha...I hope you had a safe trip...if you find out anything good...let us know!!

Hi ladies, I just came back from the Bahamas for a site visit. I wasn't sure if I should spend the money and go, but I am sooo glad that I did. As many times as I have been to the Atlantis, I could not not exactly place in my mind the location that I picked to have the reception...but something did not sit right with me. In any event...I changed the location to a GORGEOUS setting at the resort. I am sooo excited. Also, the wedding coordinator that the ATlantis provided was soooo very amazing. I had been a bit worried that maybe I was lost in the shuffle...now I feel confident that the Atlantis is very much on top of things. I was also able to finalize and leave a deposit for my welcome reception. THAT was a major priority as I was having a lot of trouble communicating with the location. In addition I met with the decor and flower company. In addition, a friend of mine suggested that I pick up a few items for my welcome bags while there so I went to the straw market downtown and got a few inexpenisve items that have the word "Bahamas" on them...nothing too much...just key chains and bookmarks...nonetheless...I love that my guests will have some souveniers in their bags. I also had a chance to see the Cloisters...all I can say is OMG...the gardens are STUNNING!!! Surprisingly, it costs the same to have your wedding ceremony here as the Atalntis....actually...they give you more at the Cloisters...including champagne....which I do not get at all. The only reason I choose the Atlantis over the Cloisters is that I actually wanted to get married on the beach. Anyway...I had the thought that I would go there and take pictures for my TTD session the day after my wedding but then my wedding coordinator stated that they charge $800 JUST to take pictures!! I will PASS on that!! LOL I still need a steel band to play at the cocktail hour and a DJ or band and a videographer ,make-up artist and hairstylist...but by going there..I was able to get a few leads. If anyone has any suggestions...let me know!! How is the planning going ladies?

There are six months left to go so I need to get busy again because July will be here before we all know it! Sheree...you will be fine...you can't go wrong with Aruba!!! Such a beautiful place, gorgeous beaches and IMHO THE best food in the Caribbean. Yes...it's time to get busy...I'm having a mini-panic attack...it's all coming up so fast!! -

Why do people INSIST on stressing you????
classadiva replied to JennandMike08's topic in Just venting or funnies
Oh boy do I feel your pain. I used to get upset...worry that no one would come...but lo and behold..after the complaints and snide comments...now all I keep hearing is..we booked our flight....we booked the hotel....we are trying to come!! The sad thing is that after so much worry that many would not come...I kind of started to like the idea of saving thousands of dollars due to many not coming!! LOL There is a silver lining in just about everything My favorite line with people like this...."We will miss you..." -
Okay..we have four people for May 8th!! Thanks ladies...I'm so excited. I'm wondering how long it takes to get the pics/book cuz we leave 5/24 for our wedding. Timberly, your pics are amazing!!!! Hi, I am going to PM you all of the information...we have three definite people so far, so if you join us..we will have four...but more are welcome. I was told that Jennifer will do the books in the order of the wedding...so you should be okay. After you receive the info..let me know. If anyone else is interested...please let me know!! Edited to add that it looks like May 8th is the date. Until I hear otherwise...we have three definites for that date and there is only 1 more spot for that date. Danielle

Just an FYI...the end of April....early May date is not set in stone. When we find out if we have enough people, we can all decide what suits everyone. I did speak to Jennifer and April is tight...but possibly doable. She will also deliver the photos based upon the wedding date of each girl so if you are close....you should get yours earlier. I was thinking late April/ early May because I want to also have my own book done in addition to the album that we will get from Jennifer. However...we all have to be flexible..so...let's see if we can put together a group and then if we can pick a date that works for everyone.

Okay Ladies...I'm very excited. I have what I think is good news. Jennifer got back to me today with a special package. I think it's the cheapest rates I have seen thus far. This package however requires that at least 4 of us book and it must be on the same day. The good part is that we do not have to rent a hotel...she has a studio in her home in Queens. I think Jennifer has worked with us to give us what we want at a terrific price...which now includes a photo album!! So far...it looks like 2 of us are definitely on board. I was thinking about late April...early May for a date. I have sent everyone whom was interested a PM or an e-mail. If you did not get one, please let me know and I will send you the info. If you would like info on this...please send me a PM or your e-mail address. Let us know if you are interested so that we can focus in on a date that is good for everyone and lock it in. The package includes: 3 outfit changes Editing and airbrushing of 20 photos per girl Hi-res jpg files via e-mail 5x7 leatherbound album that will hold 20 5x7 prints Refreshments Possible discount for makeup artist if at least 4 girls interested
