I found their site on Etsy the other day too! They are so cute! We are thinking about boarding pass STDs and her passport invites. I just purchased these passport covers from another seller: Recycled Plastic Passport Cover Blue by OfLandAndSea on Etsy Super cute! We are giving them to our wedding party!

catholic ceremony in PV

We are planning on going to the courthouse before the wedding. Hope that helps! Thanks so much! That is helpful! I just figured you had to do the legal and catholic portion in Mexico, or both in the US. It's so odd. Thanks again! -

catholic ceremony in PV

For those of you who have done it, how difficult is the process to have a legal catholic ceremony? I heard something about how you must arrive 4 business days before?? -

Las Caletas looks beautiful! My big question is where does everyone usually stay? -

I love Playa Fiesta! Your pics are great! Playa Fiesta is closed for weddings in August because of the rainy season though and the prices are higher than what we were looking for. However, I cant stop thinking about it! We may try to change our date and still make it work. -

I love each of those properities, especially the other properties managed by the Villa Celeste one. They are beautiful and have the bright authentic colors we are looking for. However, we are looking for our entire group 30-50 to stay in one place or within walking distance from each other. It looks like these options will be too small for our group. : ( The pictures on your site are beautiful btw!

The beaches are a lot quieter and you will have a better chance to work with the vendors of your choice as there are fewer mid-week weddings than week-end. Just a friendly heads-up about August weddings in Mexico. It is VERY, VERY humid and VERY, VERY hot. I have photographed several weddings in Mexico during this month and have seen brides, grooms and entire wedding parties literally melt in front of my camera. Things I recommend to my clients: wear the lightest weight dress you can find that is made from natural material and that is breathable. Choose comfortable shoes that have air flow. If your feet get sweaty in tight shoes, the result can be nasty blisters (I seen it happen.... not too nice). If you have long hair it will be much cooler with it up. If people wear jackets, long sleeved shirts or the colour black, by the end of the ceremony they will be standing in a puddle of their own sweat. I am from Canada so I understand North America fashion sense for weddings but I also now live and work in Mexico, so I can safely say that in the heat of August try to think functional (ie how can my fiance and I keep cool, how can my wedding party and guests keep cool) over what would be appropriate in the USA or Canada. The heavy and/or luxurious materials, and formal, layered attire that are certainly appropriate for North American weddings are simply not practical for weddings in Mexico in August, during other times in the year perhaps, but not August. The good news about August weddings in Mexico: it is one of the best months for long, beautiful sunsets; the overall expense of your wedding will be less than in other times of the year and you can negotiate a better price with ALL vendors (hotel, flowers, wedding coordinator, food, everything!); and '000's of sea turtles come to lay their eggs on the beaches. Joining a group to search for turtle eggs and to help release baby turtles into the ocean can make for a unique and memorable activity. I hope you find my advice helpful. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help out. Thanks for the great advice! All my guests are coming from Texas, so they are used to the heat, but it's good to know what to pack. We will have the ceremony in a church, with the reception in the evening on the beach or under a palapa. I'm worried about the rain in August in Puerto Vallarta, but I hear that it's just a mid-afternoon rain, much like Florida and Hawaii. Hopefully it won't linger all day, but just be enough to cool off the heat a little? I've heard mixed feedback... I just want my guests to have some sunny days at the beach for activities like snorkeling and a turtle release. I am excited to hear about the turtles and long sunsets! Thanks again!

How to ask multiple MOHs?
jdrewett replied to jdrewett's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
OK, here is what I am going to do! Since a DW is non-traditional anyways...why not just make up my own name for them instead of MOHs and BM? They are going to be our "Senoritas" and "Senors"! Here is the thread about the passport covers we are going to give them with a note inside to ask them: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t49765 -
What should come first? Booking the hotel to hold the space? Asking MOHs and BM? STDs? It seems like the MOHs and GM won't be able to commit without more information about the destination/costs/date. However, what if you ask them first then have to change the date or destination? It's really important they are there, so I would hate to book it, then find out they can't come. Let me know what you girls think/did. Thanks! : )

I am going to have my 2 sisters and my 2 childhood best friends to be my MOHs, with no bridesmaids. My fiance has 2 high school friends and 2 college friends. It was going to be too hard for us to choose one of each, since the girls are close with each other and the guys are all close too. I know it's not traditional..but who cares. I thought it would be fun for the 4 girls to work together on planning. I want to come up with a creative way to ask them. Everything I find says Will you be my bridesmaid? or maid of honor? How can I word that they will be co-MOHs/team of MOHs without sounding ridiculous?? lol.

We were originally looking near Puerto Vallarta for 8.9.10, but it looks like most of August is rainy. I had found a few good options and now I am starting over looking in the Yucatan area. We were considering early June, but if the weather is nicer in Yucatan, we would like to keep our date. I have heard Tulum and Akumal are nice. Please post any boutique hotels and smaller resorts near the beach. We are hoping to find a place on the beach where we can rent all/most of the rooms for around $100/room/nt. We are also looking for a Catholic church. I remember seeing a picture of a palapa catholic church somewhere... Thanks ladies! Any info is helpful!

We were planning for an August wedding in Puerto Vallarta or Sayulita. We were getting really excited, but the more we read, the more we hear about the rainy season. Are we crazy to still want to do it? We really can't move the date up or back any more. Any advice?

I was looking at Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta, but more and more places are discouraging an August event. Playa Fiesta in PV even closes in August due to rainy season!? Eek! I need other suggestions. Let me know what you think! We do not want a big hotel. We are looking for a casual, beach hotel with 40 rooms or less. Thanks!

Playa Fiesta Weddings
jdrewett replied to kate.com's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
This is great info on Playa Fiesta. We are looking at PF or Villa Mia. Any input? -
I saw in one of the other forums that Royal in Cancun has a glass Catholic Church on their property right on the beach! Check it out!
