Here is a link to a thread all about those suits... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ts-99-a-39694/ We haven't gotten groomsmen clothes yet. I want the guys to wear white shirts and tan or beige linen pants. I left this job to my FI. Hopefully the guys have clothes to wear by the time we leave.

I think the company (MisterShop) is in Chicago because when I sent it back to exchange, I sent it to Chicago.
  4. I like the casting for Alcide. I think that he is pretty close to what I pictured. I have seen him before. Was he on One Tree Hill, maybe? The actress they cast for Crystal was not at all what I pictured! I also pictured her little with dark hair. Maybe I will like her once the season starts. I am sure the story line won't be the same as the books anyway. It's funny...I watched the show before I read the books and I could not picture the Bill in the show in the books. I really don't like Bill in the books and the way he is described and acts is not at all like the Bill in the show. If I had read the books first I wouldn't have liked the person they casted in the show. I can't picture the Tara in the show having a relationship with Franklin Mott. That might be kind of weird for me.

But I think you would have to check with Dreams for sure on that one as I imagine that it is more geared towards business groups (i.e. conferences, meetings) rather than weddings, but really in the fine print it does not say anything about this so I would push for it! I don't know if it's just cause we booked so far in advance or what but we were able to get from Dreams: - every 12th person free - one room upgrade for every 10 rooms booked - a private welcome cocktail for our group Hmm...just called my TA about this. That's awesome you got all of that!!

Does anyone know if the sand will be too hot in May to walk barefoot? I was going to email Ana with this question, but since she gets so many emails I figured I shouldn't bother her with these little questions. I think most of you are planning on getting married on the beach. What are you doing? Funny you are asking this....I came on to ask kind of the same question! I was hoping to be barefoot on the beach for the ceremony. I think that I read somewhere...maybe on facebook...that the sand wasn't hot even though the sun was. I know someone who got married at another resort in the Riviera Maya in August and she was barefoot for her beach ceremony. My question though...I wanted to wear heels for the reception and I am having my reception on the pool deck. Can you wear heels on the deck or would they get stuck between the boards? I also am not sure how that would work out as far as getting my dress altered.

We are planning on 40-60 people during a slow off peak week Oct 26-Oct 31. Hopefully having the wedding on the 29th. We were hoping with that many people we could get our room for free. The dreams website talks about a buy 5 rooms get the 6th free, and a different promo with 15 rooms and 1 free. Also we wanted a package with ceremony (non-official), cocktail hour, dinner/reception. We plan to just use an ipod for music. Thanks! Hi and Welcome! I did not get anything like that. I don't have 20 rooms booked though. I have 16 rooms (we will have about 30 people). I think that the promotions on the Dreams site do not include weddings. There was something like that going on when I booked and my TA contacted the resort about it and they said the promotions don't apply to wedding groups I was hoping to be able to get something free too!

I'm not too worried about the privacy, and i also like how someone was saying that the gazebo could be decorated with cloth on the sides instead of the flowers? Is that right or did i misread? I also have to ask Ana. We booked the 11am slot for September 6, 2010, but i'm not sure, do we have to have our reception dinner right after? Or can we do it more towards the evening and use the Coctail Hour as more like a welcome for our guests when they all arrive? I also don't have enough points yet to veiw attachments, so i can't wait until i do! I'm sure there's a ton of information in there! Thank you all for your help already and your help in the future! Dorothy Welcome Dorothy and congrats! I think that you can have your reception at dinner time instead of right after your ceremony. I had read that the other Dreams allow you to use your cocktail hour as a welcome for your guests the day everyone arrives, but I never asked Ana about this so I don't know if she allows it. As far as where to have the reception, I am having mine on the pool deck...I chose it because I think it looks beautiful in the pics and I love how it is right on the beach. I am having my ceremony on the beach...I would choose this no matter what because I have always wanted to get married right on the beach

If your reception is outside, the chocolate wouldn't last long at all. You got the price list, right? I do have it also. Claudia is really nice. She is not super quick to respond to your emails but she answers all of your questions. She has been very easy to deal with so far. So, is it that hot in February in Mexico?? My cocktail hour starts at 6, reception at 7. I was reading that the average temps are 80's during the day and high 60's - low 70's at night. I wonder if they were left inside until the start of the reception if they would be okay? Hmmm... I'll have to look into the Mexican wedding cookies too. That also sounds like a good idea.

If you find out more about this from Ana, can you let us know? I asked Ana about the chairs that are included with the "free" pool deck set-up. She said you have two choices...the chairs with the white covers or white garden chairs (the white version of those nice wood chairs).

With the sit-down dinner menu, you only get to choose one appetizer, one salad, one entree, etc. If you wanted more than one option, you have to pay extra. With the buffets, you get everything that is listed with the buffet you choose.

Question out for the ladies - we are finalizing a contract with Elizabeth Medina but if you go thru the portfolio for Cecilia Dumas she has all these super colourful beautiful buildings in the background I am told they are in an island off Cancun - anyone know an area like that in the area of DRC? would be fun to mix in beach and street pictures Maybe the island is Playa Mujeres?? That's the only island I can think of that is off of Cancun. I guess you wouldn't be able to go that far? I am going to have a beach wedding but I was thinking about using pomanders to maybe hang on the aisle chairs? I really love them too! Could you send me the picture? My email is [email protected]. Thanks!

It seems as if there a few different "themes" and I guess you just pick one? I am not sure if you can substitute or change things. We are having the buffet because we couldn't choose a dinner that everyone would like. For example, we have a couple people who are vegetarians, some that don't eat red meat, and some (like me!) that don't eat seafood. It would have been way to difficult to choose a menu!! I thnk you are exactly right. I never heard of $100 pp just for dinner. I think it works out to be about $90 pp for cocktail hour and dinner.
  16. I LOVE snow days, especially big snow storms...but not for tomorrow because I have to work 7am to 7pm...I don't want to be snowed in at work!!!
  17. These stories are so funny! I went to a wedding where the bride and groom chose the song "Who Let the Dogs Out" for the bridesmaids to walk into the reception.
  18. Okay..I just tried a new hot chocolate yesterday and it was really good! I made it from the recipe on the side of a can of Hershey's Unsweetened Cocoa. It is the cocoa powder, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Yum!
  19. I bought this a few weeks ago and just tried it for the first time yesterday. Wow, I think every single muscle in my body hurts today! Going up and down stairs in particularly painful. Lol. I did manage to do it again today though! I really like it - goes by quickly!
