I'd love to hear how much your room rates are?

First, congrats to all the future brides who have booked at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach! It does feel good - just one less thing to worry about! I too have booked, actually just a few days before the gal who started this tread. Mine's on Friday, January 7, 2011! We should get one another's email, compare notes, be eachother's resource, if need be! I'm super excited though! I would love to hear how your planning process is coming along!

I'm right there with you Terri! I have reservations at Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril and really don't want a cookie cutter Marths Stewart wedding with many restrictions. I'm thinking of Sunset at the Palms as well. The price range is a bit lower, but you do have less ammenities. I feel like Moon Dance Villas is a bit more expensive compared to the Sunset.

I had a question about the Steakhouse...how do you pick the wedding dinner? Are their options for our guests? Do they simply pick off a menu? Can we customize the menu?

what's their policy on getting an outside photographer?

I can't seem to find the daily rates per stay for IRHS. Anyone know the average cost per night?

Hey Erica! Thanks for sharing the news. Did you have to purchase a guest pass for Misha to take photos at your wedding, on the hotel grounds? Does Rose Hall Suites allow outside photographers? Is Mishas Earle one of their regular photographers?

I've been using TripAdvisor to look at reviews and members also post ton of photos. I've actually been able to see some great photos of numberous Negril Hotels and wedding set ups.

do you have any reception shots? I would love to see them!

I'm also debating whether to stay with Beaches Negril or now go to Riu Negril because of pricing. After spreading the news about our destination wedding less were excited about it...because the cost it would require for their family. Would anyone also know more specifics about the wedding planning process at Riu? Since having decided on Sandals I have been working with a TA for a short while to see what her role would be and she seems very flexible and helpful...even seems to have local venues/resources to make your big day that much more special and unique. it's a package. There are some decoration ideas i would like to customize. I wonder what the Riu wedding packages look like? It would be nice to see pictures of a Riu wedding vs. Beaches wedding. It would be great to see someone's Riu Wedding photos ceremony decor and reception decor!

i've also sewn a tote bag from a JoAnn's sewing class...quite easy once you get the hang of it. but i agree with Smith...you wouldn't be saving much at all because price for fabric adds up. and the project is time consuming. but it's ultimately up to you. if you have the time, passion, and money to make the bags yourself, then i'm sure everyone who receives them will definitely appreciate it!
