In need of a photographer and florist
2010bride replied to TaniBBurwell's topic in Jamaica Wedding Vendors
Jonesr and TaniB, You can check out some pics on her website jamaicanphotography.com. I did the free package so there isn't much decor at the ceremony site but an arch with flowers. It was a lovely arch I must say : ). We decided to go with the free ceremony since we were paying per person for the reception. The extra several hundred dollars to put a couple of flowers around wasn't worth it to us at the time. However, I saw a ceremony that was set up there as well that had flowers and it looked absolutely beautiful. -

The pricing is beyond reasonable and she does not do time slots so that she can capture every moment. And that she did. We received everything so quickly. Our package included two disc over 700 photos, 2 photo montage disc and 2 video's. We also order two coffee table albums. All of this was less than $2000. You are not going to get a better deal and you are not short changing yourself at all. When we received everything, we teared up as we saw how beautiful everything was. She definitely added to our joy. I meant over 1900 pics, I have so many to choose from -

Marcia Roberts is who I used and I got married at the RMB at the Plaza Gazebo as well. We also had a beach reception. Absolutely beautiful and she does amazing work. She works with your budget because she loves what she does. Her website is jamaicanphotography.com. Check out her work and give her a call or send an email. She responds almost immediately. -

Anyone used photographer Marcia Roberts before?
2010bride replied to msmoodyr's topic in Jamaica Wedding Vendors
I have nothing but good things to say about Marcia. From her excellent prices to her professionalism. Here and her crew were there from when I was getting my hair down all the way to the reception. Everyone loved her because she was so sweet and captured every moment. Definately worth the money (which isn't alot for what you get I must add). Fast delivery and beautiful pics. What more can you ask for. -
Perplexy, I am getting married at RMB in less than three weeks. I can't wait for you to post your review and pics.

I am using floral fantasy and they have been more then attentive to me. They respond almost immediately to emails and the pricing was so reasonable and negotiable ; ). -
Is Sherika from RMB gone?
2010bride replied to blumenthale's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Thanks Sarahkay20 for the words of encouragement. Because I have not been have such a great experience with Nekeisha so far. She takes about 4-5 days to respond to an email and when she does she never answers the question. I am very nervous about this. I also called the resort and the phone just kept on ringing. What should I do? -
That is so unfortunate. Coincidentally, I went to a wedding that was held there on April 10. The grounds were beautiful and so was the ceremony. The biggest gripe I along with the rest of the guests had with them is that there customer service sucks.

When to send out Thank You cards..
2010bride replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Sita&Nate, We too are using the escort cards as thank you cards as well. Actually our "escort cards" are actually message in a bottles and the message in the bottle will be a thank you scroll. I was second guessing doing the thanks you's this way as many people say it should be personalized. But I think it is a cute touch that would be appreciated by my guests, Thoughts? Do thank you's have to be personalized? -
Is Sherika from RMB gone?
2010bride replied to blumenthale's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I got a response from Nekeisha about the status of Sherika's whereabouts. Nekeisha said that she is the wedding coordinator for now because Sherika is out on maternity leave. -

2010bride replied to blumenthale's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
The same thing here. I received a response back from Nekeisha as well. When I asked if Sherika was still there and if she was the new coordinator, she did not respond. My wedding is in June. What to do? -
RMB Baker contact number
2010bride replied to blumenthale's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hey Blumenthale, Do you mind providing the baker who you are going to use information? The prices I have been receiving for cakes are ridiculous and as we all know the vendor fee is very high. -
Where have all the RMB Brides gone?
2010bride replied to nic&mark's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
nic&mark, I am so happy you started this thread. I was wondering about the rest of us as well. There are a billion threads abour ROR but not much for RMB. Though Geralyn's thread was very informative. I also wish that there ws more info on vendors for from mb and set ups of those who did the beach reception. Congrats to all who has a wedding soon. Mine is in 53 days. woooo hooo. -
Tux or casual digs for the guys?
2010bride replied to Diva's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I am having the same dilemma. I think we are going to go with gray tuxes. Are there pics of gray tuxes on here? I too chose to have a dw for the breathtaking scenery and feel, not to be super casual. -
RIU Montego Bay or Palladium Jamaica???
2010bride replied to jessiered's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Welcome Jessiered, There is a post on here about problems at the Grand Palladium and I posted my thoughts there but I will summarize it here for you. I was first going to book at the GPJ until I read so many negative reviews. I also was not confortable with the fact that the wedding coordinator did not get back to me in a timely fashion and when she did she was very rude and told me that she was not going to answer any more of my questions until I booked with them. I am now getting married at the RMB. The wedding coordinator is very helpful and responds to each and every question I have for her. The sales department is readily available and I am pleased so far. Granted the GPJ is prettier (in my opinon), the service (or lack there of) I received was a deal breaker for me. I was corresponding to them around september/october. I believed the wedding coordinator was changed at least two times since then. I hope this helps. -
Anyone having problems with Grand Palladium Jamaica?
2010bride replied to slkerr's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I was having many problems with the wedding department there. The lack of communication caused me to change to a different resort (Riu Montego Bay). I loved the pics that I saw of GPJ but the lack of communication with the wedding department was adding to my anxiety and the stress that goes into plannning a wedding. I thought the planning a DW was suppose to be less stressful but dealing with them was proving different. I actually had one of the coordinators tell me that she was not going to answer any questions from me until I confirmed and booked there (the nerve). I had nothing but good experiences with the Riu Montego Bay thus far. But I can't deny the fact that the GPJ appears to be nicer in pics than the RMB but at least I get answers : ). -
purple and green wedding combo?

purple and green wedding combo?
2010bride replied to 2010bride's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Thank you all for your suggestions. I am so much more at ease. What do you think that the MH should wear the green and the BM's wear the purple? I got some swatches today and I am excited now. -
Hey everyone, I was thinking of having green and purple as my wedding colors/ bridesmaid dresses. I have been having mixed reviews about the colors(initially everyone was like what? those colors don't go but then when they see them to gether they said it is very nice). My dilemma is how do I make thee colors work? Do I use royal purple and lime green, lavender and sage, different shades of purple and accents of green or vice versa, etc.?? Should the MH wear one color and BM's wear the other colors or should the MH wear a sash to distinguish her role? Please HEEELLLLPPPP?!!?

I did 20 orders of this and it cost me $113 for all of those things 20 totes, 20 shirts, 20 keychains, 20 hats, 20 pens - not bad for 40 people! I just made sure that I used their fonts and pictures so no extra costs were added. There are cute palm tree and hibiscus pics too. I attached a pic of the tote I made - aren't they cute?!? I love vista print. It is definately for the budget conscious bride. I got my STD magnets with our photo on it for free. All I had to pay for was shipping. It came out too less than $0.50 for each magnet and everyone loved them and that that we spent aton. -

Trice, Your wedding was beautiful. Did you have a reception? I know you did the free package, what extras if any did you pay for and were they reasonable priced? -
Now we are booked for RMB!
2010bride replied to Mrs K 2010!'s topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My ceremony is at 2:00pm. I too was worried about the big gap. Does anybody have info on what changes can be made with the reception such as linens, chair covers, etc. ? I am sure it will be beautiful but I would like to have the option to personalize it as much as possible. Riu lacks in that department (disclosing information, options and pics different ceremonies and reception setups)
