We just got back from there and it was beautiful. I tried the Riu, but was put off by the two-month-in-advance planning. I'm in the process of negotiating with the resort and it's so stressful to be doing things through email and phone calls. I'm sure that if we all hang in there the result will be amazing! Some good news....I ordered my dress today :) Quick question: are any of you using a travel agency for your guests? I've heard it can be cheaper. Have you heard anything about SunMex Weddings? On the TA question I am trying to get everyone to book with the agent, why because of issues like swine flu and if something was to happen serious before we leave or while we're there she (agent) would be one direct contact for the entire group. If the place had to change she would move us all together or bring us home if needed. when people book separately they would have to contact their trip seller individually. I the case of the venue being moved.. they probably would not get the option of going where we're going.... My 2cents on the TA -

Now to find the guys stuff and basically we are set. i am moving here this month so my surfing will be much less. Every couple days instead of 6 times a day like I am now haha. Happy planning all. I really didn't start doing anything until Sept. I have had the date set for almost a year. I guess I thought I had tons of time, it really crept on us. I was feeling very stressed a few weeks ago, however now I have big stuff checked off the long list. Doing better the past week. I have to say my little network has gotten tons of attention with this wedding planning. Thank god for the interenet!!!!!!!!!!!! -

We actually booked in August 09 for our May'10 wedding because we found an early booking special on Orbitz and our travel agency was willing to price match. The prices were even cheaper than what we had originally been quoted for Oct '09 in the offseason!!!. Nearly $1000.00 cheaper for our 9 night stay!!!!! I've been continuing to price check amongst different travel sites and have yet to find anything cheaper or even close.....Sometimes waiting to the last minute isn't the best idea! Our flight is already booked up and the wedding is 8 months away!!!!!! People always have to have their two cents... I love my bro but he always has to have a smart ass comment. When I told him to stop saying that he seen prices online half of what I was quoted by the TA, he was clueless as to what my issue was. I check the prices everyday and YEAH!!!! some nights I am awake stressing out over this wedding, I check the prices online and they don't change!!!!!!! I am down to less than four months and I feel people should be booking now, waiting until last minute is a gamble.. -

SusieQ replied to mitzy7's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I wouldn't stress too much there girlie!!! people that have their heart set on going will find their way. I have my FI's boss and his wife traveling from Costa Rica, they have to fly into the States to connect to go back south to Cancun... Just to get their flight they have a 4 hour drive on not so safe roads... They'll be there My Gfriend in Newfoundland has a three hour drive to the airport too.... Her and hubby will make the overnight trip and fly into Toronto to connect ans fly to Cancun with our group.... Those that want to make it happen "will" -
Oh their "Priceless" lol

Whose name comes first?
SusieQ replied to Bermuda Bride to Be's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I put FI's first on our invites because it just looked better on paper for the centering of the set up. My actual name is Susan however very few people ever call me Susan it's always Sue which I prefer. Our invite was Mark & Sue -
Welcome and happy planning

SusieQ replied to michelle6114's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Thanks for the info there... I have to do something, I drink coffee and red wine so my teeth really stained. On a funny note, I was at a wedding last weekend and a another female guest, super tanned had her teeth professionally whitened and you could see her teeth across the room. A few people made comments about her teeth. It was pretty funny in the dark. -

Oh he needs to be smacked!!!!! We had company over in August just after the invites were sent out and he was telling other people that I invited that if you go online at 2am in the morning a few days before the departure date you can get deals like half price. I was so close to murder, can you amagine waiting for quest to book days before the wedding. Yikes!!!! He so got a blast of "shut up before I kill you" Oh forgot to mention "my brother the extent of his worldly travel experience, is Thunder Bay Ontario hunting friggin deer" -

I need that comfort that I have those little details taken care off. I freak out when I get stressed about small things.... I am trying to arrange as much as I can here before I leave. -

I have bought my stuff here because my experience with Mexico is there isn't very much stuff there to work. There is a few stores in Playa De Carmen not much though. I am traveling "Air Canada" we're allowed 100lbs each so i am not too worried. Could you have friends and family bring some of this stuff down for you.... Just an Idea... -
