Grrrrr. We are also writing our own vows -- where did you get the template? Hi FutureMsMoulton, I will be wearing both my ering and diamond wedding band, FI will be wearing a two tone band, white gold and a bronzed gold. I am not getting them engraved, I just don't feel comfortable giving up my ring to anyone, the way things are these days the company could be out of business next week. I will post a pic of my dress later in the week. I am kinda worried about that one. Vows: I am using this site Sample Wedding Vows Grandma's wedding band that is so wonderful... -

How exactly can I get this point across without hurting her feelings? Arg... I just tell her, "Mom I love you and need you to be my "MOM" that day." I'll need you to be there for me supporting me through the most important day of my life. She can't be carrying a camera and having the responsibility of that huge job. -

I had to hide my rings in the safety deposit box because I kept putting in on and wearing for a hour or so. My excuse was i was trying to get use to it. Yup!!!! How mature is that? We're both on the count down to less than a hundred days, scary. Mark and I are writing our own vows.... We have not started it yet, however i did download a template to follow. Something we need to work on, if we plan on having them memorized by our wedding day. PS I finally called the seamstress back and I am going to try on my dress this Wednesday... She called me two weeks ago and I just got up my nerve to go try it on. I am taking a friend, she'll take pictures. have a great week. -

I am at a total loss, I just graduated and can't get a job for the life of me, and its really stressful because my FI is in law school so he doesn't have a job and won't for another year and a half. I am living at home so at least I don't need to pay rent but I just don't know how we are going to move out on our own with nothing. A nice old lady I know was telling me how her and her husband got married with $300, and that was it. My parents also got married with very little money when they were young - but I stress so much about how we are going to make it. It doesn't make matters better that I was offered a position and now the lady won't return my calls. I also work part time at Kohls but it is getting bad there the people are so rude and I am starting to really hate it. I guess I should be happy I have at least that but I have been so down lately it really sucks. I keep joking that I can't even be a housewife because we aren't married yet!! Oh well I just thought I would add my vent to this thread and maybe we can help each other out with job stuff & since we do so well with wedding ideas!! Oh and Susie Q, I just read an article how a lot of companies started and did great in a recession (trader joes was one of them) I was just looking into selling a book I wrote. Another idea I had and I am still tossing around is going to schools in my local area and offering hot lunches for kids. One day a week for each school, kids would take home an order form set menu with food items and parents can order online and you would drop off the food at the school. Do online payment too so that your never without payment. I was going to call it "Lunch Mummy" or something silly... Great for a mom that is stay at home or has kids in school part time. I have some wacky ideas.... Hey we have to pay the bills....

Something I have learned over the years, sometimes relationships run out of steam. It doesn't need to end with a confrontation or bad feelings. These relationships are there for a reason, they served a purpose in your life and now something has happen or change has come about and either one or both of you are not feeling it anymore. My 2 cents is just let it go and don't feel bad about it. You're both moving in different directions.... Yours sounds very exciting and positive, focus on that.

Engagement Parties & Destination Weddings
SusieQ replied to isaidyes's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Older bride here been married before and has now combined homes with FI... I do not want any gifts, DW gifts, Bridal Shower or AHR.... No Gifts please... people have asked and I have been quick to say "thank you but no thank-you. Having said that, if I was going to an engagement party or an AHR for a young couple starting their life together I would bring a gift. I would include young couples getting married for the first time and couples that have been living together aswell. I just think the old fashion way that this is an opportunity to help them get their start in life. -
Funny, I spoke to my gfriend that was at her neices wedding in Mexico last January and she was telling me the WC was having a glass of champagne with them before the walk down the aisle. Gfriend said it was the WC that told her neice to have a glass of champagne to calm her down. She was to one that opened the champagne and poured for the ladies in the room. I also wasn't told anything about a chest xray to get married in Mexico, just blood work... One of my reasons to get the legal part done here before we leave. I bruise badly from needles (Black huge, you look like you have been beaten) I didn't want that in my wedding pictures.

Me either... I remember my old boss male "total tackless idiot" pulled my ring off my finger and held it up to the light saying "this is a friggin rock".... yup my boss!!! No longer... Hated him However my gfriends pull it off me time to time, "gently" and put it on... they love it... doesn't bother me at all... Boss issue was weird, that was uncomfortable... again ex boss...lol -
Oh Sweetie that's tough.... all I can offer you is a hug... yeah it is you that has to make the pick or not.... Big Hug
