  1. Honestly Ladies, In the very early stages of planning my wedding I choosen the Akumal, because the beach is so beautiful there. The Tulum had the sand bags try to keep what is left of the beach and I really wasn't feeling the look of sand bags. We had started the wedding planning with Yuritiza and it was very rude and difficult. I changed hotels because I totally love the Bahia Principe in the Maya Riviera and knew that is where I wanted to get married. She just didn't make me feel safe, comfortable,at ease... not sure ... it wasn't there... Good luck with the new gal.. clean slate... yeah right!!!! you all have your emails and hold them to it.... take care gluck
  2. Hi My Ladies, Erica, China!!! your so far away!!! how is it being so far from home? I am pushing my stepdaugther to go to Europe next summer for dance instruction, and she is so freaked out about being away from home. I think it is so good for their growth and independance to be away from home. Ok ladies have the first draft of my dresss. so here goes... I was very happy, it felt great. I know it is a work in progress and it will be more my dress next week when I go back again for another fitting. So here you have me "HR Puff N Stuff and I included the dress I cloned mine from: The Model dress: As you can see there are details like the waist that are missing and the spilt front. The front will be spilt and hemmed next week and the waist band attached. I also changed the dress to halter to have more support for the twins. Night gals... Not sure where I am tucking you all in from NY Uk USA China .. where ever, I am very happy tonite "I have a dress", well almost!!!!
  3. Hi hun, Really sorry to hear about your sister and her broken wedding plans. I would be very interested in the three flower girl balls. please pm me
  4. I am only on page one and my answer is "he is staying with me," I don't sleep right without him. I wake in the middle of the night, everynite and i just wanna wake up and go back the sleep just listening to him breathing next to me. That sound is like a baby listening to a vacuum, just sends me back to sleep.
  5. We're doing one just to do introductions and give out OOT bags... We have badges made up for everyone with nicknames on them so everyone will know their bag from the rest of the group during the week. I just wanna be able to say hi to eveyone before hand. We are doing All Inclusive so we'll just meet at a lounge area and say hi and have a few drinks... Nothing over the top or extra $$$$$$$$
  6. Just tell her your firmest "I'll kill you if you do not listen" voice, It is bloody fire code regulation that the tables be separated and arranged in the manner they have been placed. Also MIFL (I know this stands for something crued, I was able to apply it to somthing censored) "THIS MY DAY LET ME HAVE IT MY WAY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I really hate people that have no sense of social acceptable behavior, "It's not your day, mother -in-law keep your mouth shut. What makes people think they can control everything.

This idea of the AHR is very new for me, I am trying to figure it all out. I do know one thing.. I want everyone to see my dress..lol, but I am in NO rush to start planning anything else right now!! I do have access to a wonderful two story social room that is inside of my bridesmaid building. I could hold it there FREE of charge here is the link to the room Social Room - The Watermark on Hudson Amenities I live in Manhattan and this property is 15 minutes away from my house. I am considering catering some food and watching my wedding video with family and friends WEARING MY DRESS ))) svetayasofiya--no I am not a model..thank you for the compliment VDAYBRIDE!!! First!!!!! Yes, you are shocking beautiful!!!! I cannot wait to see your wedding pictures. (girls can say that to each other, right??) If you have access to that kind of venue for free "That be the place for me", My concern with the outdoor AHR I have planned is the weather. This summer was brutal here in Canada and everytime I planned something outside this summer it bloody rained. We are planning on the wedding video being shown on a flat screen tv and pictures to run on a computer for everyone to see. I would be booking that place in your gfriends building "that is a great spot'. Meyer2010!!! I love this thread... everyone is so down-to-earth. I have the try on tonite... I spoke to the seamstress yesterday and she explained the the dress is in the under shell stage!!!!! so not sure what idea I'll be able to get tonite of what the actual dress finished will look like. I am hopeful... Have a great day ladies
  8. Yikes that is very difficult!!!!! I had a girlfriend that I had to un-invite to our wedding because she was so rude and nasty to other people I had invited. I arranged to meet her and had a speech prepared (two weeks of planning my words). Well she started cutting my other guests up as soon as we met up, I lost it with her and it went to hell from there. I am now thinking I just should have ignored her and just let things slide and hope the cold shoulder had turned her off from coming. I don't know how much contact you have with her if you could just not send out an invite to her and just ignore her when in her company. I just hate ugly confrontations and the BS aftermath. Sorry I may not have been much help, What is that wedding show with the wedding cordinator Jane somebody with three wishes. Wedding SOS we all should have three wishes.
  9. Oh girl, my heart goes out to you. I lost my granny ten years ago the Nov. she died off cancer aswell. The last few months of her life was with so much pain as I amagine your granny's is. Just be there for her to the end and promise her that you'll have a glass of wine in her honor on your wedding day. You have been blessed to have this wonderful woman in your life.... Celebrate her life.....
  10. Shellk What area of England are you from? I have family in south Wales, I haven't been there in over 30 years. I believe they still live in Cardiff.

I must admit though this forum has really helped the planning process go much smoother!! I would be doing the AHR in early summer, I have a pool so it would be an outdoor thing. I pretty sure this coming summer maybe the last year in this house, we're currently looking for property to have our dream home built. I think it can be done in a year, FI thinks two years. We'll see!!! I will need down time from the wedding to get into the wedding reception planning again. I don't think I could handle the stress back to back receptions. Are you thinking of having one soon after you return?

I am doing the AHR because we have family that we dearly love that are not able to travel, I am not sure about wearing my dress again. I'll cross that bridge when i get in the AHR planning mode. Have a great day!

I am waiting to hear back from the resort to confirm, but this is really good news. I hope that it works out....Claudia's work is amazing! I am so happy this worked out for you, nothing worst than having that vision of what your pictures should look like and then be given that huge disappointing news that someone else with a different style is your only option. I have not book a photographer yet so i am sure that I will have the site approved vendor, Oh well sucks when your lazy and don't move on details. Good Luck girl....

I am just trying to remember to enjoy the journey to the big day. I will definitely take some pics during the fitting, but I better get to posting and replying so that I will have enough points to share them! Personal!!! You're in the February Bride Blog!! no such thing as personal!!!! We'll have all the details of your life and be telling you how to run it. lol Yeah we do a little pestering of newbies, helps with your post count. My tip for newbies is to say a quick Hi to all the Newbies. Really quickly adds up. Good luck on the dressing fitting... mine is tomorrow evening. YIKES I maybe all the way home. Sue

Drove down to Burlington to go to David's Bridal. Went down for a different pair but they were not comfortable (if I have to wear these all night I betteR be comfy!) and ended up finding another pair. Super cute: The border crossing guy was hilarious. I decided to just claim the purchase (because technically you are not allowed to bring anything back if you are there less than 24hrs). He asked ''How much were the shoes?''. I said-''$24.99!" He raised his eyebrow at me and said ''for your wedding?''. I said ''They are really pretty! 60% 0ff baby!'' HAHAHA I am on the floor howling.... too funny... you mean you didn't go with a pair of $775 Louis WHattacallit shoes?? What the hell you only spent $25 dollars.... I think mine were $30.00 We're just too practical... Good find girl!!! You're moving right along on that list. Take care sue

It wasn't that hard to do, There wasn't a huge selection of flowers at the local Michaels here in Newmarket Ontario

Thanks. I found my real touch flowers at a craft store called Michaels here in Canada. I made my own bouquet, it was pretty easy. The texture of the flower is the same as the real flower however it is thicker and more firm. It is easier for transport and durability. Good luck in you DIY
