  1. My (half) sister had this problem, sort of. She has a great relationship with our dad, but her step-dad has been around for a LONG time. It was in a church, so she had our dad walk her in, her SD met them at the pews and then they both walked her down the aisle. Her SD then shook her FIs hand and sat down, then our dad officially gave her away. You could either have one pass you off to the other, both some of the way, or there is NOTHING wrong with both giving you away! My cousin had her mom and her dad give her away. It was really sweet.
  2. As many other people on here have said, I do want to wear mine again. After all the formal stuff (cake cutting, pics w family, garter/bouquet toss, first dance, etc) is overwith, I do want a cute white sundress to change into. I think this year around Easter I'll buy one since it will be in season. For the reception, I love the idea of a projector screen playing the wedding. Then we can walk in right as it ends and it will be as if we were just married. We'll be home 2 weeks before our reception. If it's not enough time to get my dress dry-cleaned... I used an at home dry cleaning gentle washing machine thing for prom dresses in high school and they came out fine. I guess worst comes to worst, I'll do that on my wedding dress.
  3. WOW, you did ALL THIS yourself? They look awesome! Congrats on finally finishing, that's a lot of cutting out to do, haha. I didn't think to do front & back on my passport invites. I have a long time to figure it out though. Good job!
  4. Well he really was a hockey player, which just made it funnier to find out he was Canadian. But with movies out there like The Waterboy and Little Chenier, I can't imagine what people must think it is like here! Football, boy oh boy. Tailgating is the best, lol. My high school was too small for football, but once I was in college it really became fun. With a dad and 7 uncles that played and love it, it's fun to see how into the game they get.
  5. Not ice fishing, but they catch those giant flounders... can't think of the name, haha! I live in the great state of "Sportsman Paradise", so it's waaaay different types of fish that come from the Gulf. We just don't have hockey here. Had a league for about 2 years, didn't last at all. I would love to take a trip up there though!
  6. hospitals : male nurse (my FI! haha)
  7. Good luck finding pants. I heard those community wedding showers in Canada are a blast. Cousin in law's sister married a guy from Canada, he used to play hockey and stuff there, and after all was said and done here they went up there and she came home talking about how awesome it was and we all should have made the trip up there. Maybe some other time, those Canadian guys want to take us to do their kind of fishing. The are troopers though, tasted all of our weird fried foods of shrimp, frog legs, alligator, oysters, etc. Anyway, have fun! I can't wait to be stressing about finding pants for our GMs.

Turns out we are the SAME size, the dress fits me PERTFECTLY and I only had to pay $350 for it!! I LOVE it!! The only thing I think I might change is the bow in the back...I think I want to have it shortened abit so it doesnt drag so much on the floor. WOW what a deal!! Looks awesome. I agree about the bow dragging the floor though.

But I don't know if I should order something online or try to find short dresses at local shops? Any advice, or am I thinking about the dress way too early? I'm so sick of resort research, I've moved on to the next thing I already have my dress. It's long... I tried on some shorter one's and I am only 5'3", so that didn't work out so well. I looked like a little person for sure, if I were wearing heels it would be different. I went to a local shop and asked if they had any destination gowns, they had a ton! Bought one right off the rack... it fit perfectly. Now I have to work out for 13 more months to stay this exact size, haha!! I got sick of the resort search. Glad I finally settled on one! FI kind of put his foot down and said pick one already. He loved Dreams PA (which was Sunscape before, IDK about Dreams PC) and I didn also, so that settled it. Good luck!
